A few weeks ago it was reported that the FX hit American Horror Story was going to be getting a major face-lift. “Face-lift” still sounds like an understatement considering that the vast majority of the starring cast is not returning for the second season. What’s stranger is that this was not due to contract disputes or creative difference, but it was planned.

For all of the cast it lost, it was also confirmed that Jessica Lange and Evan Peters would be coming back but starring in completely different roles. According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast is going in an off-the-wall direction. Reports have surfaced that the show’s creators have approached and worked out a deal for Maroon 5 front-man and The Voice host Adam Levine to join the cast.

While the producers have kept a tight lid on the upcoming second season, it has been exposed that the series will move back to the East Coast and will feature an all-new tale. Furthermore, Levine’s character will play one half of a couple called “The Lovers.”

Adam was born to Jewish parents in Los Angeles, California. He showed a strong love of music at a young age, learning to play the guitar and performing on stage at twelve years old. As a teenager at the Brentwood School, a private day school in LA, he was awkward: he says of his teen years, “I was gross, My hair was long and really ratty…[I wore] huge, oversize flannels that didn’t fit [and I had] a goatee.”

He met future band mates Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and Ryan Dusick at a performing arts camp while he was in junior high school. They formed the band Kara’s Flowers and released one album in 1997 — The Fourth World. They later reformed in 2001 as Maroon 5.

Adam Levine leads a "charmed" life.

The 33-year-old Maroon 5 singer – who also works as a vocal coach on 'The Voice' and plans to release his own perfume range – feels he has a lot to be thankful for.

He said: "I live a very charmed life that I don't ever take for granted. I wake up in the morning and feel like the luckiest man in the world.

"I'm a confident person – but I still think, confidence aside, [success] has a lot to do with timing, making the right decisions and being lucky."

And the 'Moves Like Jagger' singer admits 'The Voice' played a big part in the renewed success of his band.

He told WWD: "This show has inspired me in amazing ways I never thought possible. It has given the band sort of a second life that we never really saw coming.

"All I know is, it's a lot of fun. If you're lucky enough to stumble upon these types of things, to not embrace them with open arms is a waste."

But despite his forays into other fields, Adam insists that first and foremost his is a musician.
