Have you ever looked up what your name means? If not you should definitely do so. In the meantime, here are the origins and meanings of several of the names of caracters in the Alice in Wonderland movie. While some of the names from the move are made-up (Seriously, when was the last time you actually met someone called "Tweedledee" or "Mallymkun?"), plenty of them aren't.

Something to think on: How well do the names and meanings match up to the characters' personalities?

Absolem – Hebrew. A form of Absalom, meaning “Father is peace.”
Alice – A German name meaning “Woman of nobility.”...

Introduction

Sometimes there are ships which defy all logic and are nonsensical. They transcend all time and translation. Or, in the case of Alice Kingsleigh and Tarrant Hightopp of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Time is killed altogether so that the ship can have a chance! Welcome to the ship that is Hatter/Alice (or Halice).

A Little History Behind Them

The idea of shipping Alice and the Mad Hatter is most indeed one that is curiouser and...

(About the behind the scenes clip)

Let me be clear: I really enjoyed Tim Burton's take on "Alice in Wonderland." The story delivered a worthwhile continuation of Disney's original animated film while sticking to the twistedly whimsical spirit Lewis Carroll's classic book. A lot of folks felt the same way.

Then the movie ended. Like many, I was shaken by the... interesting creative choice made in the final minutes when Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter performs a CGI-assisted dance -- the Futterwacken -- to a techno beat. In the below clip from the Blu-ray/DVD's...

Wired:It must be a treat to design for an actor who can disappear so seamlessly inside his characters.

Coleen:He really is a chameleon, and he takes on the character in the clothes. They don’t ever look like costumes on him; they look real, and that really helps my job.

Wired:Your partnership with Tim Burton — how did the two of you first come together?

Coleen:I was recommended to him on Edward Scissorhands by a production designer —...

The Hatter, er, Alice in Wonderland poster.
The Hatter, er, Alice in Wonderland poster.
We are all excited about the Alice movie. If we weren't, we wouldn't be on this spot. But is it really Alice's story anymore?

My friend, her sister, and I were at the cinema together seeing the Lightning Thief movie. As we left the theater, we were confronted by a huge poster for Alice in Wonderland with a crazy-big neon-bright image of the Mad Hatter on it. My friend's sister said "If it's called Alice in Wonderland, the why is there only a picture of the Hatter on the poster?"

It's a reasonable question, and one that really made me think. Of all the posters I had seen promoting Tim Burton's...

Q: Your upcoming Alice looks like it might be a more adult interpretation, considering she's meant to be 19...

A: With Alice, the imagery has been around for so long, it's so iconic. The problem with the books is that they're episodic and kind of random events that the movies have always suffered from the idea of a passive little girl going, "Oh, that's weird. Oh, I'm shrinking! Oh, I'm growing! I say!" So the goal was to try and take that imagery and be true to it but make it a new movie. So she's older, which puts in context. That's what's always been missing.

I think, with all these stories,...

*****SPOILERS*****
*****DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE*****
*****SPOILERS*****

So, I have been reading lots of movie reviewers opinions about Tim Burton's 'Alice In Wonderland' and have grown very tired of reviewers who just don't really get where the movie is coming from. So I thought I would review the film! I know I will be a little biased, but I think it is always cool for fans to read what other fans think, as you get more in depth and deeper perspectives from fans of a movie, than from random movie reviewers who get paid to talk about movies that they probably wouldn't even...

THis is the official Alice in Wonderland Prayer, yeah I was bored.

Our father who art in Wonderland
Hallowed be thy name
Thy revolution will come
on earth as it is in underland
give us our daily cup of tea
and forgive us our madness
as we forgive those with madness bigger than the Mad Hatter
Save us from the Red Queen
and deliver us from riddles
for Alice, Mad Hatter, Red Queen now and forever

Amen

Helena Bonham Carter: 'We're the bonkers couple'
The actor talks about life with Tim Burton, their latest spectacular, Alice in Wonderland – and being branded a 'disastrous dresser'

Helena Bonham Carter fancies a drink. So she orders a double espresso. And a glass of fizzy water. And an apple smoothie. She looks rather worried when I order just a coffee. "Is that all you want?" she asks gently. Multiple drinking, she explains, is the way to a balanced diet. She admits her theory is not based on pure science.

We are in the cafe just down the road from her north London...

Casting auditions for 250 extras were held in the British city of Plymouth on 6th and 7th August 2008. Requirements were for people with a 'Victorian look' and for applicants to have no visible tattoos, piercings or dyed hair.

Actress Mia Wasikowska beat out several candidates for the role of Alice, including Amanda Seyfried and Lindsay Lohan, who lobbied for the role.

This film marks the 7th time Johnny Depp has worked under the direction of Tim Burton and the 6th time for Helena Bonham Carter.

Principal photography of this movie took 40 days.

Note: Alice in Wonderland is not created and owned by me. This is a story for this website and Fanfiction.net.

Alice saw Tarrant dressed as a lifeguard and said "Hi Tarrant. What's going on?"

Tarrant said "I'm working on a experiment involving hats."

Alice said "I don't understand what you're talking about."

Tarrant said "I'm used to hearing that. I'm trying to make hats that can float in water which is why I'm going to be a lifeguard today."

Alice said "I didn't know that there was a pool nearby."

Tarrant said "It's been around since 1865. I have an idea."

Alice said "What?"

Tarrant said "You should...

The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on on hearing this; but all he said was, "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
...
"Have you guessed the riddle yet?" the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.
"No, I give it up," Alice replied. "What's the answer?"
"I haven't the slightest idea," said the Hatter.

While Lewis Carroll had intended for this riddle to have no answer, many have surfaced. Some clever, some silly, and some completley un-related to the riddle. So are you wondering what the answer to Hatter's riddle is?
Curiousity killed the cat, you know.
However, there is more than one answer to his...
