Alpha and Omega Question

you think Tom Kane can be a good director?

since he did a fantastic job writing A&O 4, i think he can be a good director too

okay, i doubt it but it looks like he does have potential. and keep in mind: Tom Kane's still a newcomer to the franchise, so he still needs a little more work

Now that I thought about it for a bit, I'm going to have to agree with this for reasons JettAlpha said below. While I liked A&O2, there is the abrupt ending, and then A&O3...I assume we can blame him for that not being as good since he's the writer (is the only one or does Richard Rich write as well?).

Richard does animation. And even he hasn't lived up to his potential. He animated the Black Cauldron by disney.

@JettAlpha: I've never seen the Black Cauldron. Besides A&O, only movie animated by him I have seen is The Fox and the Hound.

No, just because he did a good job on Alpha and Omega 4 dosen't mean he can direct. He still fucked up two potentially good sequels, although 2 was alright, its still considered a fuck up.

This is why I agreed with tehrealkatewolf's answer of "No." A good writer (in the case of A&O2 for the most part and definitely A&O4) is only part of it. There has to be a good director, such as Richard Rich, as well. And good producers, too.

fuck up? sure, it wasn't what we expected but keep in mind that A&O 2 was delayed over and over again, and that made the budget smaller. they wanted A&O 2 to come out theatrically like the first movie, but thanks to the tiny budget, they had no other choice. that's not a fuck up

I'd call a fuck up something that is done bad intentionally, not when they have no control over it. (Lionsgate...)

No. He's not Ben Affleck who knows how to write, act and direct good movies (though I honestly didn't care for Argo).
