The woods were thick and sound. You could hear the birds chirping and see the trees. there was snow on the ground, yet I didn't feel cold. I looked down to my feet shocked to see that they had been replaced by a claw. I looked to my arms to see they had been replaced by two long white wings. I had shape shifted into a snow owl!
Shocked at the events that happened before my eyes. I stumbled around frantically. looking like a chicken with its head chopped off. I fell right to my back making snow fly up like powder. I slowly and carefully got back to my talons. I spread my wings out and shook them to get the snow out of my feathers. I took a minute to admire how beautiful and long my wings were. I was very confused and a little frightened but at the same time I don't believe that I had ever felt more alive. I started to flap my wings getting some height in the air as i started laughing in amazement. “Im Flying!” I thought to myself as I flew higher. I could feel every muscle and feather in my strong wings. Never had I felt so weightless and free!
Then suddenly a strong head wind blew me over and out of control and making me hertl to the ground like i was shot down out of a plane, till I hit the soft snow again. I climbed back to my talons for a second time covered in snow. I shook the snow out of my feathers again and started to flap getting higher till I was above the trees. “This is amazing!” I could see everything. The beautiful purple mountains in the distance that towered over the trees making them look like grass. I couldn't decided what was more beautiful the sights or the sounds. I could hear the gentle running of a nearby river and strong winds whispering to me as it blew me in the direction of a river.
I followed the wind flying over the trees like a speeding bullet. Never have I ever felt so weightless and fast. I flew straight trying to catch a glimpse over the mountains but to my disappointment I saw nothing. I started flying towards the mountains knowing I had a long journey ahead of me. I flew for what seemed like hours feeling the tips of my wings growing numb from flying so long. “I better gets some rest.” I thoughts to myself as I flew down to a pine tree branch.
I sat there feeling my thoughts flood into my mind and make me dizzy as i tried to balance myself on the branch. I kept thinking about my friends and family, hoping they were ok. I looked up to the sky as the sun set over the horizon letting the stars take the spotlight on the dark stage of the night. I felt the cool breeze of the wind in my feathers as it gave me chills. I remember looking up at the same night sky wrapped in a warm blanket with my friends Kate and Donvin. We would laugh and talk about life. I smiled looking at skies thinking about them and how they would never believe the events that have happened to me so far. I’d better rest for now so I can fly home tomorrow. I hunched my head between my shoulders and my head tucked in my chest feathers as I drifted away into a deep sleep.
When I woke, I felt different. I looked around to see I was back in my bed. My claws were no longer claws but soft plum hands. I looked around my small raggedy apartment room that reeked with the aroma of men’s cologne and food. I sat upright and heard voices from there room. I threw some pajamas on and ran out to the kitchen to see Kate and Donvin Eating breakfast.
“Morning Alex, you hungry? Kate made breakfast” Donvin said as he handed me some orange juice. “You have a bad dream?” I drank some of the juice and sat it down on the counter. “No, not a nightmare but a very strange dream. It felt so real.” I sat at the table as Kate brought over a plate of eggs. “Maybe this will help take your mind off it.” I smiled and started eating. After breakfast I went into my room and threw on my Army uniform and took time to put on my insignia and badges. As I put them on I noticed out of the corner of my eye thats my bedroom window was open. Thats odd, I thought to myself because I know I didn't open it.
I closed my window and then went to my bed to go make it before I left for work. But when I pulled the covers off the bed a single Pure White Feather fell onto the floor. I put the blanket down and picked up the feather and examined it closely. It looked exactly like the feathers from the dream. I looked out the window and thought to myself.

This was something that I did for my writing class last year and it ended up being a bit different from the original Missing Parents so I decided to share it.

It was a calm day at Jasper Park in the Western Pack. The pack of wolves were going about their day, but in the den of the leader, there was much excitement. It was Father’s Day and Kate and her husband, Humphrey, were busy getting ready for her parents to arrive. Kate’s sister, Lilly, and her husband, Garth, had come to help as well. Humphrey was busy keeping their three pups, Stinky, Claudette, and Runt out of trouble.

It wasn’t...

I decided to add a section for references and callbacks since these stories have quite a few of them. There are a couple of things that I don’t really count as references since they’re pretty much a constant in the movies. One of them is Runt climbing a tree and the other is Humphrey logboarding, both of which I tried to include at least once in the stories that I could include them in.

Newest Additions

Right away, I made a reference to the second movie by addressing the fact that Garth and Lilly were living in the tall grass. There’s a reference to the first movie after Kate finds out...

Now it was time to start the second part of Viggo’s plan, which was also based off something else that I made a lot of changes to. Again, it started similar to the piece that had inspired it and relied on Viggo’s main campsite in the Northern Region being destroyed and Viggo looking horribly defeated and in a state that we have never seen him in.

Robert going rogue was an idea I got from the piece that inspired this second part of Viggo’s plan, except instead of it being an actual mutiny, it ends up being another massive deception by Viggo, hence why I called this part of the story, “His...

I had also decided to tell the story of what happened to Garth’s mother. I had very briefly touched on it in Missing Parents, but now, I had more ideas for more detail and really wanted to tell that part of the story too. First, I had to introduce Garth’s mother before she died so the readers could establish some kind of connection to her and over the course of writing the second chapter, I found myself emphasizing that Garth had a very special bond with his mother, which I knew would make her death even more painful.

Since this was essentially Humphrey’s origin story, I couldn’t not...

Chapter 25: The Betrayal

Viggo had just barely gotten back to his base in time. After escaping from the valley, he ran as fast as he could through the woods toward what remained of his campsite in the Northern Region. By the time he finally arrived, half of his upper arm was swollen and the skin was just starting to turn dark.

He stumbled into his tent and immediately began digging through the chest behind his desk where he kept the antivenom he had specially gotten for this very scenario. The antivenom did the job and for a month or so afterward, Viggo took the time he needed to recover from...

Chapter 23: The Final Battle of Jasper Park

The massive group of wolves had partially descended into the valley with Humphrey and the others standing up front, watching Viggo who was still standing in the middle of the valley. Humphrey had explained his plan to everyone, although there were some objections, mainly from Steven which was no surprise.

“This plan is insane!” he said. “You know that, right? If I’m saying it’s insane, it’s actually insane.”

“You know what? It is insane,” Jax added. “And for once, it wasn’t our insane plan.”

“If you go out there alone, Viggo...

Chapter 9: Cliffside Ambush

Everyone began to get settled and Adam started showing Humphrey and Viper through the maze inside the cliff. It was pretty dark inside for a human, but Humphrey and Adam had no problem seeing down the many tunnels and Adam knew his way around.

“We dug this out in case we were ever attacked again so we’d have a safe way to retreat without anyone knowing,” Adam explained. “Each den has a tunnel in the back that both connects the dens, and also leads into the maze.”

“So, what’s on the other side of this cliff anyway?” Humphrey asked.

“Not much, really,”...

(Note: Before we get started, I need to say that right now, we're in the middle of switching out computers so I can't guarantee a new chapter every day.)

Part 1: The Beginning of the End
Chapter 1: Humphrey's Return

No one could believe what they were seeing. Everyone stared in disbelief as Humphrey stood before them. It wasn’t possible. Humphrey was dead. He had been for seventeen years. But there he was, right before their eyes. And Stinky’s nose never lied.

However, it didn’t look like the Humphrey they remembered. He had multiple scars all over his body, all from knife wounds. On his...

Chapter 19: Wolf Fight

Back at the sandstone cliffs, many, many years later, Adam had become a great leader. One of the greatest in the region, in fact. He was almost a fully grown wolf, just entering his twenties. He had led the pack for eleven years and things had been fairly peaceful since Steven left and the dens were complete.

But all of that changed one day when word began to spread of a human who had recently gone on a killing spree throughout Canada. However, he hadn’t been killing other humans. He had been killing wolves, wiping out entire packs. The only name he was known by was “The...

Finally! The exerpt for the newest and upcoming story in the A&O franchise. In one year, the story will be released in full, but not as one article. Each chapter will have its own article. Starting today or maybe tomorrow, I'll be releasing character profiles, going into some detail about the new characters in the story. I might also release the first chapter a week or two before the 10 year anniversary just to reignite the hype around it since we'll be waiting another year, which works out fine since I'm about halfway done with writing the story. I hope you enjoy this little bit of Chapter...

The night sky was dark that night, the light of the stars and moon hidden by a thick blanket of jet-black clouds. From the clouds drifted hundreds of thousands of snowflakes, the winter winds guiding them on their journey to the ground. From the soil, a forest of lodgepole pines stood tall, looming over the snowy, Canadian landscape. A brotherly pair of wolves traveled within their shadows, the eldest of the two in the lead. The younger male stuck closely behind his companion, using him as a shield against the blustering wind. Despite this, snow still managed to cling onto his coat. He growled....

Chapter 10: Ride to Victory

As they retreated through the woods and back towards the valley, Humphrey and the others did so in a way so as not to lose the enemy, but also didn't let them get too close. They just needed to lure them back to the pack and then the real battle would begin.

As they reentered the territory, the wolves stopped and turned around to face back into the woods as the humans and the remaining dogs emerged. Humphrey and the others stood with a proud, disciplined, almost militaristic stance, waiting for the trap to be sprung. When the humans appeared out of the woods, they...

Chapter 4: Revenge of a King

The rest of the group was hiding in the bushes just outside the pack borders when they heard Humphrey's terrible scream. The worst part was the fact that they couldn't do anything about it.

Back in the den, one of King's henchwolves entered the cave.

"Sir," he said.

King looked up with a furious look on his face.

"I thought I asked for complete privacy!"

"Sorry sir," the wolf said. "But there are several wolves approaching through the trees."

"Ahh!" King growled in frustration. The wolf quickly left the cave so as to avoid his master's fury.

King looked down at Humphrey,...

Chapter 2: Pack Meeting

That night, Humphrey didn't sleep too well. He was continuing to think about his parents and was talking in his sleep as he did so.

"Mom. Dad. No, don't leave. Help!"

Outside the den, Kate and Winston were quietly talking.

"We can't keep it a secret any longer," Winston said...
