In the Principal’s Office:
“I am certainly very Disappointed with both of you, young Ladies!” Principal Bennett said, getting up from his Chair.
He was a Tall, and a slightly Thin Emperor Penguin.
Amber and Ivory’s Bodies were still Covered in Yellow Cheese, Pasta and… all those Cafeteria Food.
“So what was the reason behind all this?” He asked, waddling around the Room, with his Flippers behind his Back.
“She started it!” Amber said, pointing at Ivory.
“Don’t lie, Amby! Everyone knows you started to pull a prank on me and splashed me with some Smoothie!” Ivory sneered at Amber, sounding like she was Innocent.
What was Ivory talking about? It was her who tricked Amber into Taking a Horrible picture of her!
“That’s not true! You’ve always been the Liar I knew you were!” Amber scolded her.
“Enough!” The Principal said aloud, “I don’t care who started it! You’re both in DETENTION! Now Scram!” He ordered.
The Rivals hurriedly ran out of the Principal’s Office.
In the Detention Room:
After School Hours, everyone went Home, except Amber and Ivory. They were in the Detention Room, sitting on different Chairs and not talking to each other.
After 30 Minutes, they were both allowed to go back home.
Amber and Ivory waddled out straight through the School Doors.
“I’m not letting you get away with all this just yet, Goldilocks!” Ivory opened her Beak again as they stood in the School Grounds.
“Oh yeah? What do you mean?” Amber asked in frustration, seeing that Ivory was still sulking.
“We’re not Friends like we used to be, Amber! Look at you. You’re the Queen of a bunch of Cheerleaders… which seems kinda’ Lame to me!” Ivory put in, noting the Shocked Expression on Amber’s Face.
“Says the Girl who’s too afraid to do a Cartwheel!” Amber mocked, holding her Hips.
“Afraid? Who says I was afraid?” Ivory stated, rolling her eyes.
“You proved it to yourself last year, when you Fainted just by seeing ‘The Basket Toss’ my Friends did!” Amber reminded, giggling a bit.
“Yeah, yeah! Laugh all you want!” Ivory scoffed, “Let’s see who laughs after winning the Title of ‘Homecoming Queen’ at the Dance, which is after 7 Weeks from now!” she said, sounding like she was trying to Compete with Amber on this one.
“Oh Really? Is that a Challenge?” Amber asked, “Like they’ll ever Vote for you!”
“Yes! We’ll see who gets to be the ‘Homecoming Queen’!” Ivory challenged, getting closer to her Enemy.
“No Prob!” Amber accepted the bet.
Then, the Two Girls got in their Cars and Drove off.
In Tressa’s Backyard:
Meanwhile, in Tressa’s Backyard, Emma, Lexii and Marlene were teaching her the Advanced Moves.
Finally, it was time to teach her the ‘Quadruple Back Flip Spin’.
“Ready for this one, Tress? I’m not Very good at this, but just watch!” Marlene said, taking a deep breath.
Then, she did a Back Flip and Jumped High in the air… but landed right on her face, trying to Spin 4 times.
“Ouch! My nose!” Marlene said, slowly standing up, “Sorry Tressa! I don’t know how to do that part! But you do know how it is, right?”
“Sure! Thanks for teaching it to me… I’ll definitely Stretch before I try it myself!”
Inside Tressa’s House:
After Practicing so much in the Backyard, the Girls soon left.
Later, that Night, Tressa was in the Living Room.
Suddenly, her Mom entered the Room.
“What’s wrong, Tressa?” She asked, sitting down on the Sofa right next to her.
“It’s just… Kaitlyn’s been acting weird with me lately… like she can’t stand me!” Tressa explained, looking at her Mom.
“I know you both are competing for the same Spot… but you are Part of a Family. And a Family is supposed to love each other.” Her Mom said, hugging Tressa warmly.
“So? Just because we have the same Grandparents doesn’t mean we’re actually ‘Family’.” Tressa replied, getting a bit upset, “You’re my Mom and you’re taking her Side?”
“No, but you see, Kaitlyn has always been Jealous of you! Try to see things from her Perspective, okay Sweetie?” Her Mom advised.
Tressa was confused, “Jealous? I don’t understand!”
“This is really something you need to talk out with her. You’re both Young Ladies now, and it’s time you start to act like it!” Tressa’s Mom sighed heavily.
“That’s no excuse!” Tressa told back.
Her Mom got up from the Sofa to bring out some Old Photos from the Shelf.
“Look, Tress! Just because you’re competing with someone doesn’t mean you have to hate her! Here, take a look at these Old Photos…” Her Mom waddled in, showing Tressa some Old Pictures of her and Kaitlyn when they were little.
Tressa looked at the Photos. There was one of her and Kaitlyn as Little Girls on a Beach, holding up a Shell Necklace.
“I remember those days! I was the one who had to go get Shells from out in the Tide Pools, because Kaitlyn was too scared to go near the Waves…” Tressa said, remembering an event of the day in the Photo.
“Well? She WAS afraid of Sharks Underwater!” Her Mom reminded.
“Oh, yeah… I forgot!” Tressa said, turning to another Photo.
“Oh, and here’s a Photo of us Playing Chess when we were a Little Older. I always won Every Game!” Tressa told her Mom, smiling.
“I remember… And I also remember that Kaitlyn was always throwing fits because she always Lost.” Her Mom told her, surprising Tressa.
“Man, I guess I never realized how it felt to lose every Game!” Tressa admitted, looking down.
“It’s never been easy for Kaitlyn… She’s struggled with School and Sports… Think how it must have felt for her to have a Cousin like you to show up out of Nowhere and try out for her Cheerleading spot!” Her Mom explained, sounding reasonable.
“I never thought of it that way!” Tressa said sadly, realizing why Kaitlyn was so mean too her lately.
“Kaitlyn wants so badly to be the Winner!” Her Mom said.
“So… are you saying that I should give up?” Tressa asked her Mom.
“Of course not… but I do wish you’d try a little harder to be Nicer to her. She’s your only Cousin, and the only one you’ll ever have!” With that, her Mom waddled out of the Living Room.
Tressa thought about this for a few Minutes, and realized her Mom was right. It was not too late to do the right thing...
