How Brad and Angelina Will Split Their Assets 

The impending divorce of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt means that between the two stars, there’s an estimated $500 million at stake. A portion of that fortune is due to the couple’s Chateau Miraval vineyard in Correns, France, which they bought for $60 million.

On the 1,200-acre property — which was the venue for the pair’s intimate 2014 wedding — they also grow grapes for two lesser-known white wines and one red. With the news of their split, the future of the vineyard remains unclear – but Pitt has made his passion for the wine business clear in the past.

“For better or worse, given my compulsive nature, if we are going to be in the wine business, let’s make the best wine we can,” Pitt told

The 2012 real estate purchase quickly became more than a summer vacation. “I’m a farmer now,” Pitt said at the time. “I love learning about the land and which field is most suitable for which grape, the drama of September and October: Are we picking today? Where are the sugar levels? How is the acidity? Is it going to rain? It’s been a schooling for me. In the off months, I enjoy cleaning the forest and walking the land.”

“It’s very peaceful and the antithesis of the drive, the want, the need to get ahead indicative of life in Hollywood,” he added. “I’m instantly reminded what quiet sounds like.”
