Banana slugs serve an important role in the forest ecosystem. Feeding on fallen leaves, mushrooms and even, dead animals. They recycle nutrients and help replenish the soil.

And throws a tantrum! This poor little Koala is trying to stake out it's own territory when it is kicked out of the tree by a big bully. Persistence pays off as this brave young Koala claimed the tree all to himself by nightfall :)

Snorkeling in relatively shallow water, I spotted this octopus gliding quickly over some seagrass. I approached it very slowly when it finally decided to release a cloud of black ink my way and use its siphon to make a quick getaway.
