So, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. It's a time for joy, and happiness, so, what better way to celebrate it then to crush all that happiness and bring sadness instead...... Wow, when I say that outloud, I sound like a real jerk. Anyway, the rules are simple, only one anime per franchise, I had to have seen it, and, it had to have at least moved me in a way. So, with that, lets start the list. (Warning. This list contains massive spoilers for anime. Read at your own risk).

10: Nagisa's Death from Clannad: After Story - Now, some of you may want this to be higher. Please, hear me out first. This is very sad, because, right after Nagisa gives birth to hers and Tomoya's child, she then... dies. This is where Tomoya just loses it, as he and Nagisa have known each other for a long time, and had even married. It even goes the extra mile to make the viewers tear up by showing us past clips of the past. Hell, Tomoya even says how it would have been better if he and Nagisa should have never met, just so he wouldn't be sad. So, why is this only number 10.......... BECAUSE THE ENDING IS FUCKING GARBAGE! THEY RUINED IT BY MAKING HER COME BACK TO LIFE, AS IF WERE WATCHING A FUCKING DISNEY MOVIE! FUCK YOU CLANNAD'S ENDING! YOU'RE GOING ON THE WORST ENDINGS IN GOOD ANIME LIST

9: Euphemia's Death from Code Geass - Now, what happens when a character changes personalities so quickly, that is just shocks the viewer? That's Euphemia for you. This character was the only peace loving character in the anime. In fact, she didn't like the war at all. I am surprised, honestly, that a character like her would be in this anime. However, when she an Lelouch have a reunion, Lelouch's Geass powers go haywire and changes Euphemia's personality COMPLETELY! She goes from a happy, peaceful girl, to a violent, death bringing psychopath. So, after she and a group of soldiers begin killing innocent people, she is then shot and killed by Zero, as he states that she was the first girl he ever loved. This is just so depressing, as we see a character completely change, only to get shot and killed right there. It's real amazing when an anime like this can do such things

8: Inuyasha's Farewell from Inuyasha - Now, this is the first of the anime moments that doesn't involve death. Savoir it, because this list is full of death moments. So, this happens right after Inuyasha and Kagome express their love for each other. It just feels so sad to see this before the next scene. After this, Kagome goes to her mother to tell her how Kagome saved her, only to see Kagome disappearing. And, since the Jewel Shard was gone, he would disappear forever, never to see her again. That's just so sad, to have this happen after they express their love for each other. Goodness, no wonder people shipped them so much.

7: Ace's Death from One Piece - Another death scene. Trust me, it isn't the last. Now, this happens when Ace, Luffy's older brother, is on his last breathe after a deadly fight. And, sure enough, he dies. Right before he dies, he thanks Luffy for loving him and then, right after he says this, he dies. This is just very sad, to witness a loved one dying right in front of you. And, it makes it sadder, because, last time I checked, One Piece was a comedy series. Family Death is something you don't put in a comedy.

6: Ending from Angel Beats - I'm going to get yelled at for this, aren't I? Yes, I know, it should have been higher. But the moments higher up, I felt were more depressing. Now, to the list. This is so sad, because this happens right at the end of the thirteenth episode. As Otonashi and Kanade are left alone, he says how he loves her, but, Kanade can't, because if she did, she would disappear. However, she wants to thank him, as he was the one who saved her life during the organ transplant. So, Otonashi keeps saying he loves her, as Kanade says thank you. By doing this, she disappears, and Otonashi does the same shortly after. Sure, Angel Beats has lots of sad moments, but none come close to this scene.

5: L's Death from Death Note - Man, this scene. L would have to be my favorite character in Death Note. He has such a humorous personality, but seems to lack other emotions. So, his death just made it all the more sad. So, this death happens some time later in the anime. L then gets a heart attack and dies. But, before he dies, it reveals that Light was the one who killed him, proving to L that the killer the whole time was Light. Now, this may not be much, but, think about how many friends L had before Light. None. So, that means that L was killed by the person who he thought was his friend. Imagine having only one friend, but who backstabs you It hurts. Trust me, I learned from experience... Anyway, I'm sure things didn't get too bad, right.... Oh, right, they brought us Near after his death....... I miss L.

4: Kolulu's Farewell from Zatch Bell - Who remembers Zatch Bell... No one? Well, it was still an awesome anime. But, this scene is real sad, which is crazy, considering it happens VERY early in the series. This happens when a character named Kolulu goes on a rampage through the city. Her friend, Zatch, tries to help her, but it is no use, until she nearly attacks her sister-in-law, turning her back to her normal form. After seeing all the damage she caused, she wishes to return to her world. So, Zatch is then forced to blow up her book that keeps her in the human world. By destroying it, she is then sent back to her world. This whole time, Zatch is crying, wishing she didn't have to go. After she does, Zatch promises to win to become a benevolent king. Why this anime didn;t get more popularity, I will never know.

3: Mariko's Death from Elfen Lied - So, what would it take to make you pity a character you thought did not deserve any pity. Well, that's how I can explain Mariko. This character was nothing more then a sadist who enjoyed torturing people to death with her powers. Sounds like she did not deserve pity, right? Well, the thing is, she was nearly killed by her father, but, after he witnessed his wife die trying to protect her, he promised to keep her safe the best he could. He kept her in a lab facility for years, pretending his daughter was Nina. however, once he finally got her out of the chamber, he mentioned how getting her out was planned from the start. He then tells Mariko how he is sorry for everything he did and this actually makes both him and Mariko cry. However, there is a catch. Mariko was planted with a bomb. The bomb would explode in a few minutes if a button was not pushed. The only way to avoid this is if Mariko killed Lucy. However, she had failed, and was to explode.... and she did, along with her father. This scene just makes you question if she really deserved the hatred she was given at the start. Probably not.

2: Hughes's Death from Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - Okay, how many of you saw this coming? Seriously, don't lie. This is the most iconic, and most saddest deaths in anime. And, it is the last death scene on this list, so, it is definitely my saddest death scene. Anyway, this happens after his is killed by the biggest douchebag i the series, Envy (HOW THE FUCK DID THIS BASTARD AVOID BOTH MY HATED ANIME CHARACTERS LISTS). Anyway, not only does he kill Hughes, but to add insult to injury, he does it by being disguised as his wife. My god, this is just horrible. But, you may be asking why I put both versions of Fullmetal Alchemist here. Well, in Brotherhood, he may have had less time for the viewer to get to know him, but, in this version, we are shown a scene of Hughes funeral and we see his daughter and wife crying. Just.... wow

1: Grave of the Fireflies - Yes, everything in this movie is depressing. EVERYTHING! From beginning to end, this movie bombards you with depressing scenes everywhere. Since this anime movie takes place in World War II, it shows the two main characters, Seita, and his sister, Setsuko, trying to survive the war, after their mother dies. It is anything BUT easy. They go throw hundreds of struggles and hardships, yet, they are always able to find happiness in each others company. I should also mention the massive symbol of the fireflies, saying how they die so quickly (2 moths to be exact). So, yeah, when your symbolism is about creatures that die quickly, you can tell this anime movie is just real sad. And, yes, there are dozens of sad scenes. I really don't want to spoil it for you. Seriously, go watch it. I can't spoil it for you. Just, be prepared to cry.... A lot.

And, so, that is my top ten saddest anime moments. Is there a moment you wanted to see. tell me below. With that, I will see you all next time.
