I have been struggling with the non-reveal issue ever since the season ended. When a question was posted about forgiveness and trust, I just purged my inner feelings into this response. This was a deeply personal and honest moment for me, and I would love to hear from anyone who is having the same struggle or maybe has some words of wisdom in regards to dealing with all of the conflicted emotions:

Trust and forgiveness in regards to a relationship is a complicated thing. In regards to Arwen, I was ecstatic to find out that the betrayal was the result of an enchantment. I always felt that the way this show had developed Guinevere's character,it would be hard to "buy" into her cheating on Arthur at this point. An enchantment also allowed for a reveal and a reveal would bring restoration to what had been wrongly destroyed between this innocent couple.

In the meantime we listened to Arthur say things like: he Loves Gwen, but can never trust her again, she betrayed me so she has to take the consequences, have I been a fool to give up so much for a woman that betrayed me, and everything I cherished between us is gone, that will never change. I am sure that at this point many would say that Arthur is hurting and confused, so this is all normal and expected. I would agree to a point, but this situation is not normal because we, the viewers, are aware that Guinevere is innocent, and this makes it more difficult to not feel intense pain and injustice for Guinevere.

I do think that people that have been betrayed in a relationship can forgive and move on, but in this case, because of our inside knowledge, I feel it will be difficult for many of us as viewers to move on without the enchantment reveal. Arwen is a relationship built on trust, and I don't believe trust is so easily, or possibly ever restored. In fact, IMO, once the circle of trust has been broken, it will never completely be whole again.

I do wonder if the point of not revealing the enchantment was to allow for more jealousy angst in their relationship for series 5, or if they do not ever have any intention of revealing the enchantment. We will have to wait and see I guess. I know many people are happy about the fact that Arthur could forgive Guinevere and love and want her still despite everything. Happy that it shows emotional maturity and strengthens their bond for the future. I agree, but once again from a viewers standpoint, with the inside knowledge of her innocence, I still feel this epic relationship has been cheated by the lack of a reveal. If TPTB had not chosen the path of Guinevere being enchanted and instead she had cheated of her own free will, then the Arthur loves her despite everything would be an amazing act of love and forgiveness in my mind, but that is not the direction they chose.

I am honestly still sad and struggling with the fact that Arwen is broken in regards to trust and that Guinevere can't forgive herself. I am very happy that they are now married and King and Queen, but there is a part of my heart and mind that still grieves for what could have been if all had been revealed. There is a part of our Arwen that is not complete in my mind because their trust has been broken, and it hurts even more because I know it could have been made right.
