Next morning, Arthur wakes up late. He couldn’t sleep for a long while after he dropped Merlin off and returned to his own apartment. He couldn’t stop thinking about her. Once he did sleep, he was blissfully tormented by dreams of her. Her eyes, her lips, her hair, her skin all giving him sensory overload. He woke up stiff as a board. In the shower, he couldn’t help but relieve the tension in his loins, thinking of her. Her smell, her perfectly shaped breasts, her delicate painted toes, her soft curls, her lush, full lips and that cocoa skin, so soft. Oh, God…
It is Saturday, and he doesn’t have to report back in to the firehouse until noon Sunday. He tries to busy himself, actually cleaning his apartment, washing the pile of dishes in his sink, watching football highlights on the news. By noon he can take it no longer. He looks at his phone for the thirtieth time since ten o’clock and dials her number.

Special thanks to Hanihana for the suggestion that I write an AU Arwen fic!

There is a fire at an office building downtown. Not a huge fire, but the fire department is summoned, and the usual crowd forms. The fire is extinguished easily, and as Arthur packs the gear into the truck, he takes a moment to look around. He takes his helmet off, wiping his sweaty forehead with his arm, freeing the damp blonde hair that has plastered itself there. It is midday, so most of the onlookers are senior citizens and businesspeople on their lunch hours, most of them frowning at the inconvenience caused by the trucks.
The library is across the street. Slight motion in the large floor-to-ceiling windows on the side catches his eye, and he turns his head to see a petite form looking out. She is standing and watching, one hand against the glass, the other toying with what looks like a necklace. Inexplicably intrigued, he steps forward, peering, trying to get a better look through the glare on the glass. Her skin appears dusky, latte-colored, and her hair is either up or short. She is wearing a figure-hugging...

I need to hear you guys talk about it. I know we have lots of videos and photos to comment on, but please, I wanted to set up one place here to hash it out. I need to hear your general thoughts on this episode. How were you left? How did it impact you? I have never seen the acting of Bradley and Angel shine the way it did in this, our beautiful couple were magnificent. But I want to know how you felt about the plot line, what you think of how the whole thing played out. Do you have things in the story that you were grateful for or was there something in it all that bothered you? Whatever. I just want us to talk because I need it. We're family and we needed that group hug for this, so let's think of this as a group hug with me in the middle because Nanna needs it. Love you all.

Nightfall began to lift from the walls of Camelot as sun rise was appearing above the hills, it's orange glow streamed through Alice's windows waking the young king who had spent the night by her side. He looked around to see his wife sitting beside him sleeping looking as perfect as usual, her face calm and content but yet she still looked worried. Arthur sighed he did not want her to worry so, but yet he was glad that she cared so much about him. Merlin walked into Alice's chambers seeing Arthur awake he spoke quietly "Arthur" Merlin whispered
"what is it Merlin" Arthur replied
"how are you feeling? did you get any sleep?"
"Not exactly I've been thinking for most of the night"
"she seems to be improving" Merlin said trying to take Arthur's mind of things.
"Hmmmm" the young king replied.

Alice could feel her life coming back to her the breath retiuning to her body she sighed in relief, "finally" she thought to herself as no one else would hear her.

Tristan and Isolt's conflict of love and loyalty is one of the classic tales of Western literature; in the Arthurian tradition, their tragic tragectory rivals and complements that of Lancelot and Guinevere. The basic story is one of mis-directed love: Tristan, the heroic nephew of King Mark of Cornwall, is sent to Ireland to escort the Irish king's daughter, the beautiful Isolt, to Cornwall to become his uncle's bride. In most versions, it is during the return voyage that Tristan and Isolt accidentally consume a love potion (meant to ensure Isolt's happiness with Mark) together, and fall in love. Because Isolt's engagement to Mark cannot be broken, she marries the king despite her love for Tristan, and the two lovers spend the rest of their lives attempting to satisfy their desire for each other without revealing that desire to Mark and the Cornish court. Virtually all versions of the legend revolve around conflicting themes of romantic love and political loyalty, though no two tellings treat these themes identically.

I've had this on my computer for months now and think it is the right time to release it unto the world. Set after Arthur and Gwen are married. Sorry about the rubbish title.
----------------------------

Gwen and Arthur are interrupted by the squealing of children. The twins, two curly headed children, burst their way into the bedchamber.

“Papa papa” cried Ygraine “Lancelot won’t let me play with the sword, he says I can’t be a knight because I’m a girl”
She throws herself at Arthur, almost knocking him off his feet and buries her face in his strong thigh.

Arthur scoops his precious bundle up into his arms and plants kisses on her face, trying to placate her.

“Lancelot” he says “play nicely, let your sister play with the sword. Just because she is a girl doesn’t mean she can’t use a sword, your mother is a fine swordswoman.
Lancelot gives a frown of disapproval.

It gets better...three of the five I wrote placed in the top ten. As per usual, like in the Inuyasha or Ai no Kusabi world, my writing style never does fit well in any genre lol...it just is. I am, as always humbled and pleased that others enjoyed what was written from musings brought up from that fetid pit of a mind of mine. I so loved all that placed for top ten and agree wholeheartedly with the winners in each segment. Congrats all. I wish to thank everyone that read, smiled, and voted. TOTALLY UNEXPECTED.The three that placed were:

Mottled Pink Sweatshirt - 3rd
Lavender Sachet -6th
Meditation in White - 10th

If interested...here they are

Lavender Sachet - PG 13 - Humor

First a bouquet of wild flowers left at her door. However, it was the next gift of costly lavender, in a silken, violet pouch that raised the Prince’s ire. Apparently it had been brought all the way from Gaul, if the rumours were to be countenanced.

LC2: Entry 1: Fate’s Weave
Title: Fate’s Weave
Theme word/s: Portrait/Shadow
Author: elegantpaws
Rating: G
Word count: 2,119
Characters/Pairings: Merlin, Eventually Arthur/Gwen
Warnings: You might actually laugh.
Disclaimer: Own nothing but the pleasure of it.
Summary: Sometimes Fate requires a helping hand.

There really were three great smells of a morning to greet you, when lucky.

Fresh coffee brewed to perfection. The tantalizing odour of well crisped bacon, and the subtle waft to the nostrils of baked bread, even if of the store bought, stick it in the oven variety.

A sleepy half smiled played about soft, full lips as she inhaled the promising odours and her stomach gurgled in want. She hadn’t eaten since a little after six last night.

Stretching languidly beneath the sheets, refusing to open her eyes, Gwen uttered a lazy groan, savouring the promise of a full tummy and the joys of a meal she had not cooked.

Part 7: link

Guinevere is sitting up in bed. It is late, very late, but she cannot sleep. Her mind is reeling from the day. She has some needlework in her lap that she’s been absentmindedly working at, but her mind is not on this task at all. She’s been sewing with an empty needle for the past three minutes, in fact. Her eyes keep straying to the ring on her finger and Arthur’s heartfelt declaration. Me. Tom the blacksmith’s daughter. Future queen of Camelot. How did this happen? What did I do to become so blessed? Did Arthur talk to Elyan about this? I knew he loved me, but I still never dared to dream…
There is a quiet knock at the door. A tentative knock. A knock not meant to wake anyone, should they be sleeping. Gwen’s heart does a somersault. She puts the needlework aside and pads softly to the door. She opens it a crack.

Part 6: link

Early evening. Dinner should be served soon. Guinevere hasn’t seen Arthur all day, and has been wondering about dinner. Is she expected to join him? Is she to be left to her own devices, as usual? Merlin hasn’t been around since she dismissed him, either. It has been a long, quiet afternoon. She thought she’d enjoy it, but it turns out she was mostly bored. She sewed a few throw pillows with some material she got at the market today when she bought the bed linens, and that managed to pass the time, but she was… lonely. And hungry. What to do?
A frantic Merlin busts through the door to her room. “Gwen! Come quick! It’s Arthur!” he gasps, as if he has been running.
“What is it? Has he been hurt?” She drops her sewing and jumps to her feet, running out the door behind Merlin.

Back in the castle, Arthur has pried himself away from Guinevere’s side to attend to his own matters, leaving her alone to get settled in. She has been puttering around the room, putting things away, setting something here, then moving it there.
The door suddenly opens and Merlin comes striding in, candlestick in hand.
“Your trinket, my lady,” he teases, presenting it to her across his forearm with a bow. She laughs and says, “Thank you, my lord,” and takes it. She carries it over to the bed and places it on the bedside table.
“You might need one of these as well, Gwen,” Merlin says, brandishing a new candle for her to place atop it.
“Oh, how thoughtful of you, Merlin, thank you,” she says, walking back to meet him halfway as he hands it to her. She places it in the candlestick.

Merlin hurries to Elyan’s house. If I can find the girl now, I won’t need to come up with a way to go with Elyan later, he thinks as he walks. He reaches the house and knocks on the door. Elyan opens it a moment later, candlestick in hand.
“I had a feeling it was you, Merlin,” he says. He holds out the candlestick. “I was going to bring this with me when I returned to the castle. I saw she had left it on the table.” Merlin takes it.
“Thank you. She missed it immediately,” he says.
“Father made it for her when she came of age. I know he probably wished that he could have given her something finer, something pretty and jeweled perhaps, but she treasured this gift from him.”
“It is beautifully wrought,” Merlin agrees, admiring it. It is long and made of many thin rods of iron, twined together in a swirled pattern, their number...

Chapter 2

Arthur Pendragon was a man with a plan.

Actually, that's not quite accurate.

He was a man with a goal. And a very vague outline of how to reach it.

Since that goal was to seduce his ever-enticing and usually compliant wife, he wasn't worried too much about the details. In fact, this was going to be one of those go-with-the-flow-see-what-mood-my-wife-is-in-and-bring-her-round kind of nights.

Because, after all, it had been that kind of day.

No matter what stolen moments Arthur tried to conjure, Guinevere somehow managed to dispel them. Each hallway where he laid in wait was avoided. Every dark corner that held the promise of an illicit rendezvous was ignored. Dinner with the children had been just that. She barely cast a glance in his direction, effectively evading his hungry gaze. And she...

Camelot is just starting to come to life for the day as the trio walks back to the castle. Arthur and Guinevere walk side by side with Merlin behind, pulling the cart. Arthur wants to take her hand but he knows he probably shouldn’t. Instead he hassles Merlin.
“Come on, Merlin, keep up,” he teases.
“I’m right behind you,” Merlin calls back.
“It’s not like that cart is heavy, she hardly brought anything.”
“Arthur, stop teasing Merlin!” Gwen says, playfully swatting Arthur’s arm. He immediately feigns injury and she laughs.
They reach the doors and Merlin sets the cart down. He reaches into it, hoisting Gwen’s bundle of dresses into his arms with a grunt. He staggers. Arthur rolls his eyes and takes the large floppy bundle, swinging it up to his shoulder easily. Gwen picks up her small bag of delicates and...

Missing scene from 4x07. Inspired by the discussion of the line "Arthur told what you said."

Hope you enojy!

--------------------------------------

Never Alone

It had been a long day. A hard day. One of the hardest in his short reign as King of Camelot. Second only to the day he'd forced himself to deny his own heart.

A dear, trusted friend had lied. Had run. Had been, by all presented evidence, presumed guilty of treason. And another dear, trusted friend blamed him for it.

Arthur Pendragon walked into his bedchambers feeling dejected.

Broken.

Alone.

And then there she was.

His Guinevere.

His sunshine personified.

He couldn't cross the distance fast enough. She heard his heavy footfall and turned with a smile on her face. As always, she read him like a book. The instant she saw him -- the slumped shoulders, the sad eyes, the pronounced frown -- that bright smile faded and her warm eyes registered alarm.

Lancelot found Gwen exactly where Agravaine had said she’d be. She was standing in the main hall, her back to him and hands crossed neatly against her chest, looking out the window. She was in deep thought and didn’t flinch when he neared her. He maintained his distance between them but still made his presence known as his shadow covered hers from the side.
“Lancelot?” Gwen called out as she realised his presence but didn’t turn around and head for the door like she had done before. Instead, she remained and smiled at him.

The leaves were rustling, as a figure ran as fast as her legs could take her running from a heavier larger echo of feet as they ran through the aurtum forest. A sudden sound of hooves coming behind the small army chasing the girl suddenly made the mob run in different directions. Alice came to a hault in an opening to the forest with pathways leading in many directions, all was silent ..... However she did not relax, as she knew very well she was not alone.....

"Arthur we must of lost them" Merlin said to the young king after a few moments of silence.
" She couldn't hae gone far Merlin they were chasing after her she could be in grave danger.
"I'm sure that might not be the case" however a loud scream from the east quickly changed his mind.
"Come on!" Arthur shouted to his fellow knights as they galloped in the same direction.

The sound of hooves cantering in the distance became more and more clearer as Alice lay and a heap of wet colourful leaves. She could feel a warm wet patch on the side of her stomach through her armour "why am I not yet dead" she thought to herself as she began to feel dangerously cold falling into more and...

Gwen folded the sheets and arranged them nicely at the edge of the huge bed. Wiping the sweat that trickled down the side of her temple, she circled Uther’s bed and walked over to the late king’s cupboard. She thrust it open, took out some of Uther’s favourite attire and closed the cupboard. She took the attire and hung it over Uther’s favourite chair by his table and took a step back.
“Hmm… this will do nicely today,” she said to herself and smiled.
Stepping forward, she wiped the speck of dust on Uther’s shoulder pads and looked around. After Uther’s death, she had little to do around the castle and Arthur had strictly forbidden her to go back to her previous role as the castle maid. He restrained her from resuming the servant’s role and only...

Merlin is drawing a bath for his master. He is pouring the last jugs of warm water into a large tub, whistling a jaunty tune. His life as a servant has been a lot easier since the wedding. Arthur’s general mood has improved tenfold now that he can openly show his affections for Guinevere, and marriage suits him well. Gwen makes Arthur happy, and when Arthur is happy he is nicer to Merlin. Not only that, but Gwen gets displeased when Arthur is unnecessarily cross with Merlin. And Arthur has learned, like all husbands, that the key to a happy marriage it to not make one’s wife displeased.
Arthur enters, tosses his sword on the table, and walks towards Merlin. He walks past Merlin and says, “Honestly Merlin, must you?”
    Merlin stops whistling. “What?”
    “The whistling.”
“Sorry,” says Merlin, as Arthur continues around past the screen to undress. Merlin sees motion out of the corner of his eye. Guinevere has silently slipped into the side door of Arthur’s room. Merlin is about to say something to her, but Gwen puts...

Morgana stirred the fire and hung a cauldron above it. The door creaked behind her. A smile curved at the corner of her lips.
“I believe you bring me good news?” she asked, without turning to look at the intruder. She didn’t need to. She knew who was inside her hut. The foot steps halted behind her. Morgana stirred the broth she was working on while Agravaine watched her silently. “My lord, you are awfully silent. I believe you’ve had a tough day?”
