The plot is quite weird,but before I say anything else I'll wait to see for more staff about the movie.

Purie (can I still call you that?) - Since we haven't actually seen the movie, my complaints were directed towards the idea, and for the reasons you've already mentioned. I can't see anything relatable about this at all. Maybe if it was an ordinary girl (well, as ordinary as Barbie gets) swapping places with a pop star, it might not be so bad..

This is not good. From MT2 I've had a feeling Mattel are running out of ideas and now they're either making sequels or ripping off old movies and then modernize them. Girls, things are going downhill for us now. Where are the glorious days?

Funny enough, there's this cartoon with the same name (minus the Barbie part) and it has pretty much the same plot. Oh and guess what? It's based on Mark Twain's Princess and The Pauper and is a musical as well. I kind of have the desire to protest or start a petition now.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of petitions, have Mattel somehow failed to ignore that "Bring Back Kelly Sheridan" petition which has over a thousand signatures now? I thought she said fans were making their voices heard and Mattel were reconsidering because of it. Well, we've had no sign of KMS, and it looks like they missed all the demands for the return of the fairytales. And no, Mattel, taking the plot from one of your most popular princess movies and making it as glamorous and sparkly as possible does not equal "fairytale".

What happened with PCS? Was that some kind of fluke?

(oh, and if we're on the subject of violent thoughts, I have a strong desire to find the person responsible for this "new direction of BMs and whack them over the head with a large book. Not proud of it, but it's there.)

Well, I heard somewhere, that KMS herself didn't want to return. She has new roles now, you know. But they ignored it, they really did. I'm silent about giving to us a proper dolls of Major and Captain.
Oh really: pink+ sparkles+ cool= current BMs. No fairytale at all, though they have fairies/ mermaids/ princesses.

The 'Bring Back Kelly Sheridan' petition has 1528 signatures at the moment. The number keeps on increasing rapidly though. The person who created the petition said that she will re-send it to Mattel once the petition hits 1500 signatures. She said that she lost hope though..

I really don't know. She came back for MT2, but I don't know if that means she's back in the role or not.
