There was silence in the room as tears fell down Belle’s face. Adam couldn’t believe what he had heard; her aunt and grandmother tried to kill Belle and Tintement and placed the same curse on both of them.

Adam: How...exactly does your father play in this role?
Belle: (tears stop) Fiona uses her dark magic to manipulate my papa’s mind. He tried to kill me himself because he didn’t recognize me and he thought I was trying to kill him.
Adam: What exactly does this curse do??
Belle: It’s a little similar to yours, we become bird women during the day and we become bat women at night. It was suppose to remain that way until Tintement caught a loop. She met a priestess and gave us wolf masks; the masks helped us retain our human form when worn.
Adam: When the masks are removed, the curse goes back into affect.
Belle: Correct, I’m the only one who doesn’t need the mask when Fiona and Celia aren’t near-by. I don’t know why, but I feel a little relieved about it.

Just then, the sun started to set. Adam and Belle gathered the blanket and the basket and headed back to the castle. When they opened the front door, the castle seemed strangely quiet. Usually, they would hear the noises of the servants doing their chores. But this time, it was very quiet. Adam saw the door to the ballroom open; he walked up the stairs and into the ballroom. Inside the ballroom, all the servants were in there looking very scared. The only person missing was Belle’s father, Maurice; everyone else was counted for. While Belle was putting the dirty picnic dishes in the kitchen sink, she head a yell or and shout of pain from Adam. She quickly went into the ballroom, her jaw dropped from the sight of what happened.
Her hooded cousin, Tintement, was standing of Adam’s back. When he entered the ballroom, Tintement jumped from the top staircase and pounced on him.

Belle: (shouts) Tintement!!!!
Tintement: Hmm? (Quickly turns around/happy voice) There’s my little cousin!!

Adam left the kitchen with a sad look; Maurice had some confusion in his mind.

Maurice: What did he mean by that?
Mrs. Potts: Nobody can talk about it; it involves his parents. We’re not allowed to talk about them.
Maurice: Why not?

Mrs. Potts just looked at him; she didn’t say a word about the issue.

Mrs. Potts: You said you had a recipe for me to make?
Maurice: Yes, (pulls a piece of paper out of pocket) here it is.

Maurice gave Mrs. Potts the soup recipe and left the kitchen. Mrs. Potts was alone in the kitchen making the soup, until her son, Chip, and Cogsworth walked in. Cogsworth saw the soup on the stove and about to taste it. But Mrs. Potts caught his finger and hit his hand with a spoon.

Mrs. Potts: Keep your fingers out of that soup; it’s for Belle.
Cogsworth: I heard she’s sick in bed.
Chip: Belle is sick, mama?
Mrs. Potts: Yes, but it’s just the flu, she’ll be better.
