BMW Starts Mini-E Electric Car Test Program in China

So the other day I came home and while parking my scooter I found that a new car sat parked in a parking spot nearby. The car was the Mini-E, BMW’s all-electric zero emissions vehicle. They’ve been producing them since 2009, but only around 600 people have had the privilege of testing out what is possibly the future of cars. It seems that the test vehicles have now many their way to Beijing as part of a 5 month road test.
Volunteers in the five-month road test were selected after competitions beginning last October. They are asked to record daily experiences and statistics on Weibo, a Chinese microblog similar to Twitter. Should be a pretty interesting test. I’m gonna see what I can do about getting in touch with the owner and try to find out more about this innovative test.
