Recently, I came across a challenge to see if you could read 50 books in a year. The person who came up with the challenge said that they didn't beat it and ended the year with only 30 books read. Intrigued, I wondered how many books I could read in a year, so on September 29th, 2010, I started. So far, I've read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley which I finished on 9/30/10. I had already started reading it when I began.
I know some people are very active readers and probably have already read 50 books in a year. My goal is really to see how dedicated I could be and see how many I read by the end of the year. I am going to try to complete the challenge though.
So, to the people who are reading this: I want to challenge you and tell me if you think this is going to be hard, or if this is going to be easy. I'm not to sure how I think of it. My sister is a very active reader and I know she would think this is really easy.
How many books can you read? If you want to accept the challenge, I wouldn't mind you telling me the books you read once you finish them and if you liked it or not. I'm always looking for new books to read, I would love to know. The book I'm currently reading is Dracula by Bram Stoker. I'm on chapter 9, and I love it. I would strongly recommend it.
Here are the books I'm planning to read:
-Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin
-Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
-Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
-Eragon by Christopher Paolini
-The Tempest by Shakespeare
-Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne
-The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
-Emma by Jane Austin
-David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
-1984 by George Orwell
-The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (I know, I haven't read it. Isn't that sad?)
-And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
-The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
-One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
-The Shining by Stephen King
-To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
That's all I can think of right now. If you have any suggestions, please! Leave a comment and tell me. I will read it. Have fun!
