'The Strain' by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan

It's a vampire story. Real vampires, not the sparkly thingamabobs. Mildly terrifying. May possibly lead to paranoia when it comes to things that go bump in the night. That's not normally my kind of book, but I couldn't put this one (or the sequel) down.

Day Two – A book that you’ve read more than 3 times

I've read lots of books more than 3x, so I'm gonna go with my most read in total... which would be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Since I can't just jump in to the middle of a series, I re-read all of it whenever a new book came out and/or every summer. According to my count, I just finished this for the 13th or 14th time a few weeks ago. *does not have issues* >.>

I too have read many a book way more than 3 times. But I think I've probably read Philip Ridley's 'Kasper In The Glitter' the most.

Day Seven: Most Underrated Book

*shrugs* I was looking through my books trying to figure out which one I could use for this answer, but as it turns out, most of the books I thought could be "underrated" have been nominated for major awards, so they aren't critically underrated... I think I will say A Spot Of Bother by Mark Haddon. It lives in the shadow of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time, but it is a spectacular book in its own right.

Day Seven: Most Underrated Book

I can't think any favorites that are really underrated (*cough* since most of my books spawned movie or tv adaptations), but for the sake of adding something, I'll go with a Foxtrot book by Bill Amend. Too long has Foxtrot gone unnoticed & unappreciated by those too lazy to venture past Garfield and Dennis the Menace and that darn Peanuts gang in the Sunday paper! =P

Well, I wouldn't say I *loved* it, but Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief was suprisingly good. One of the munchkins I watched this summer was reading it & wanted to talk about it, so I read it to keep up. It was funny, a lot better than I thought it'd be. =)

I'm not sure if this one qualifies as underrated. I tried to find an underrated book in my collection but I don't think any of the ones I have qualified. So I'll go with this one just because amongst my books it is the most underrated (heck, I'd forgotten how much I liked it).

Day Eleven – A book you hated

Pretty much anything I had to read in school when the subject was Brit-Lit. I've successfully managed to forget most of it, but I still feel a fair amount of hatred for The Canterbury Tales. Not a fan of Austen of Shakespeare, either. I'll stick with my modern stuff, thanks.

Day Eleven: A Book You Hated

I can't read books that I hate. If I can't get into the first few pages, I won't read it. Even at school, if I hated it, I'd get the gist and then bluff my way through an essay and end up with an A. Further proof that the education system really doesn't tell you anything about anything. So yeah, a book needs to grab my attention very early for me to even read it, so the list of books I hate is very, very ling if you count ever book I never read more than a page of...

@ Dasm LOL even though I do love Jane Austen, I'm not going to throw anything at you because I too share your hatred for both The Canterbury Tales (ugh stupid Canterbury Tales) and Shakespeare. Which brings me to my most overrated book: Romeo and Juliet. When I was forced to read this book I so wanted to set this book on fire. Unfortunately burning school property was grounds for expulsion, so I had to refrain from burning it.

The glorious Philip Ridley. His books aimed at the younger audience are still some of my favourite books ever. I like his books for adults, but they are dark in an adult way, whereas his kids books are dark and wonky but oddly representative of a child/young-adult perspective. Well, mine anyway...
