I was browsing soapboxes one day a few months ago when I came across a drinking game set around the show Supernatural, written by Bealoser. This made me remember a time from high school when my best friend and I participated in a Buffy drinking game(bad girls, i know!). Our only criteria for taking a shot was when a vampire was slain or we spotted a visible bra strap, the latter being fairly often considering that it was an episode from either season 2 or season 3.

While browsing Bealoser's list, I realized that there were countless things in Buffy that could trigger a drink, so I started writing down all of the ones that I could think of. I just wanted to share them with all of you. There are no doubt many possible triggers that will be left out. It was a long running show with rich characters and inventive plots, I would have to be a Buffy scholar to tag them all!

Now, there are so many possible triggers, that you should probably choose only 2-3, and be sure that they're episode appropriate. If you choose too many, you will end up beyond wasted. My friend and I were pretty much...

Buffy has taught many valid and true life lessons. Others are...questionable. But that's sure as heck not gonna stop me believing them :)

1: The British wear Tweed. All of them. If you don't have at least one tweed outfit check your nationality, because you're apparently not British.

2: Your friends can forgive you for dating a vamp who has tried to kill them, running away from home, believing they aren't real, and even trying to feed them to a demon. But they wont forgive inability to lead an army, so brush up on your commander skills while you have the chance.

3: When English people decide whether to be good or evil it alters their accent. It doesn't matter where about in England they were raised, when they're good they are upper class English and when they turn bad they become cockneys.

4: When it comes to sex, horror movie rules apply. If you have sex something terrible is going to happen. seriously. Every time.

5: Leather pants and all who wear them are evil.

You know you’re a Buffy fan when…

You can sing all the songs from “Once More with Feeling” from memory…and if you can’t you stare at the words until they are engrained in your brain.

You can quote Buffy verse that is appropriate for every moment…and your friends look at you like you’ve grown a third eye.

You spend your grocery money on the complete Buffy series boxed set

You stay up till 2 in the morning watching reruns on fanpop

You spend hours searching for the imitation Claddagh ring Kohl’s has in their jewelry department

You decide to take up ice skating after watching “What’s My Line”

You go nuts when James Marsters guest stars on Smallville and add commentary such as “Spike would have knocked him flat”…”Spike would have said _______” “Spike would have…”

When you say not only “Bored now” but “Tired now” “Hungry now” and then your friends and family start saying it.
