That is so cool, it's even better than I thought it would be. What did your tattoo artist say when you showed him/her the picture and told him/her what you wanted to get done?
Well Stacy (That's her name by the way) was very into doing something like this. I had had Harry put on my ankle a year or so earlier and I loved it so I completely trust her so I said here, take my arm, and make it Spuffy. She went big for detail (Buffy has her earrings and there is alot of design work on her top) added roses along the side of Spike and they wrap down around the bottom (I'll get you all full pics and close ups). She loved that I was willing to trust her and she loved the artwork of it so it was a great fit. After Harry on my ankle I think she expects me to be well, me. She also plotted ahead. The roses work so that if I want I can continue them pretty much anywhere and work them around other characters. I might also add color but I think I like the black and white with the roses as a contrast.
It didn't take that long actually. It was two sessions. In session one she did pretty much everything except for the detail on Buffy. The second session was mostly shading, Buffy's hair, and some drop shadows (towards the bottom on the roses). The longest part was actually Spike's duster. That took about 3 hours. The first session was around 7 hours and the second I think clocked in at about 4 hours.
Ever so slightly on the insides of my arm...that didn't sound right...where it slightly wraps around my arm and goes more towards the forearm it hurt alittle bit (the back of Buffy and a vine/leaf) but beside that, if you have a good tattooist it really doesn't hurt. I have a friend who got hers done by a different guy and she swears hers hurt but it depends on your pain tolerance and who does it. Just so you know I have a low pain tolerance and I have real problems having blood taken or getting a shot but the tattoo didn't hurt. Not to sound sexist but I would say go to a woman tattooist just because I believe they aren't as heavy handed and don't push down as much. That's from personal experience and the two people who went to Stacy after going to a different artist.
Thanks. I've got pretty much a low tolerance for pain as well. I've got a friend with a bunch of tattoo's, she swears they're addicting, lol. Tells me to be sure before I go in, so that I don't chicken out half way through and have a half done tattoo for the rest of my life, lol.
You have to try them, it's these cheap little candies, brown bag, Stop and Shop brand too, Root Beer Barrels. I just love them, I have a small little hill made up of the wrappers from the past few days
while i can understand ur love of buffy and spike, i myself go for angel, do u realize that you have the buffy from the i will remember you episode of angel. I find it kinda odd cuz that episode epitomized what they had and you use that still of her and put it with spike. But it is nice non the less.
Nice job! I wanna see Stacey, too. I'm gonna get bracelets done and I'm wondering if they'll hurt more because of the close proximity to my wrist... But I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Actually really high.
How long did it take to get that done?
