I mean isn't he fucking smokin'?
This was actually complicated. I initially wanted to make it a blue icon, but had no luck with that, but I think it turned out pretty good in the end. I may have also been distracted by the absolute hotness in the icon...ahem...

Okay, so first I took the center image of this and cropped it.

And after giving up on making it blue, I deeply sighed and created a curves layer.
Input: 127 Output: 128
It only changed the icon a bit, but I was just so done I was glad even for that.
I added a vibrance layer.
Vibrance: +50, Saturation: +20
I stamped the layers and used variations. I attempted using blue variations but that didn't do any good either. So I just went with yellow, red, lighter. (Do not change the order.)
I set the layer to 50% opacity, and I actually liked the result, considering I was basically tearing my hair out at this point.

So here I decided to go with a beige/yellowish color. I used photo filter and set the colour to #ecc300

Ah, I really enjoyed making this icon. It was great fun. I also amde this for a 20in20 icontest on LJ, for the theme air, so you'll find a lot of little vibrance and later strong vibrance in this icon.
So, shall we begin?

The original screencap:

Of course, you first have to crop your image. I wanted to go with her eyes and neck first, but that didn't work out well, so I only cropped it above her lips.

Like I said, I made this for an 'air' theme, so what I had in mind was not a very bright coloured picture, yet not a b&w one, either. So, of course, I used a vibrance layer.
Vibrance: 0, Saturarion: -49.
To dull it up even more, I used a color balance layer. The only thing I changed was the first slider in midtones. I set it to -9.
I guess here I decided to go for a different technique and pumped up the saturation. I did that by making a new Hue/Sat layer and setting the saturation to +23.

So, according to this pick, most of you want a tutorial for the Emilia icon. But, since many have been asking for the other two on second place as well, I decided to make a tutorial for each of the three of them. You can find whichever you want below.

The program I use is Adobe Photoshop CC, any other version photoshop should have similar if not the same settings I'm using. If you're using another program, tell me and I'll see what I can tell you.

This one is for this icon:

This icon was actually pretty easy. I don't remember having much struggle with it except for the side of her face being way too red, but that resolution is for later. Let's get to it.

First, take your original image. I made this icon for a 20in20 icontest on LJ, and the theme was profile, so I chose this beautiful profile icon of the beautiful Emilia.
