"Lindy, I'm a chocoholic.I'm addicted. I can't help it!" Rachel confessed.
"What? Oh, Rach. How did you become a chocoholic?"
"Well, here's how it happened:
5 years ago, my dad started abusing me. My mum tried to stop him, but she couldn't do anything. Yet she kept trying. It led to fighting, which led to the divorce. Dad moved away, and started dating again 8 weeks later. When mum found out, she was devastated. But a week later, she realized she was in love with one of the guys at her work. They started dating, and he's a great guy, he really is. But no one can ever replace dad. Anyway, after about 6 months of dating, dad got married. I was at his wedding. But instead of it being happy, I was miserable. Not long after, mum married her new boyfriend. It was the same experience. Dad invited me over for lunch 3 weeks after, and his new wife has kids. They are the brattiest kids I've ever met. Then we had to move into her husband's house. He also has crazy kids. And now mum and dad are driving me crazy about me having to set a 'good example' for my half-brothers and sisters. I got depressed and started eating chocolate to cope. Rachel ran. She ran from her house. Past the sweet shop. Past the police station and hospital. She ran all the way down to the lake, tears trickling her face.
When she got down to the lake, she went straight to her secret place. She got there and sat down, letting the tears flow freely. How can I tell her, she thought. Tell Lindy that I'm addicted to chocolate? How?

Lindy had silently followed Rachel all the way. She lost Rachel at the park, but she knew exactly where her bestie was. So she went to Rachel's secret place. As she expected, Rachel was sitting there. Lindy came and sat down beside her.
"What's wrong, Rach?" Lindy asked, her voice full of love and concern. She put her arm around Rachel, but she shrugged it off. "C'mon, Rach."
"Why do you care about what I'm crying about."
"Because you're my bestie and best friends care about each other." Rachel turned to look at her, eyes moist, and her face stained with sorrow. She opened her mouth to speak, but she just collapsed into Lindy and started bawling her eyes out.

Chocolate Cherry Trifle

-Ingredients :1 large chocolate pound loaf * black cherry jam * 60ml Kirsch+ 60ml Brandy * 700g drained black cherries
-Chocolate Custard:90g Dark chocolate,minimum 70% cocoa solids, chopped * 250ml milk * 250ml heavy cream *6 egg yolks *85g sugar *25g cocoa
- Topping : 250ml Double cream *Dark Chocolate Shavings
Special Equipment: Large wide trifle bowl
- Method:
1.Spread the chocolate cake slices with the cherry jam, and layer the bottom of a large wide trifle bowl. 2.Pour the Kirsch+Brandy over the cake sandwiches, and then top with the drained cherries. Cover with cling & let it sit, while you make the custard.
3.Melt the chocolate in the microwave. Set aside. In a saucepan gently warm the milk and cream. Whisk the yolks, sugar, and cocoa in a bowl. Pour the warm milk and cream into the bowl whisking it into the yolks and sugar mixture. Stir in the melted chocolate, pour the custard back into the saucepan and cook over a low heat until the custard thickens, stirring all the time.
