Christian Bale, star of the last three Batman films, met at the Medical Center of Aurora on Tuesday afternoon with seven patients injured in the mass shooting that occurred during a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises."

Zhang Yimou's The Flowers of War, with Christian Bale headlining, is doing big business in its home country, where it's already become the top grossing Chinese film of 2011.

Christian is #10 at IMDb's list of most-viewed pages of actors & actresses in total in 2011.

Christian Bale found himself on the run from Chinese authorities after he attempted to meet with detained human rights activist Chen Guangcheng with help from CNN’s international news team.

"Yimou actually wanted Christian Slater but ended up with me," jokes Bale.

Christian Bale becomes the first Western actor to star in a Chinese movie (a $100 million one at that) as he and director Zhang Yimou shake up the Hollywood model of doing business with "The Flowers of War."

Speaking about the character development of Wayne a.k.a Batman in the highly anticipated superhero film, Bale said, 'It's time for Bruce Wayne to face the pain, that has always stirred his life.'
