Christianity Question

Does any Christian here eat pork?

My friends that are Christian always eat pork, but I found that it's forbidden in the Bible.

The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork:
"And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you." "Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you."
[Leviticus 11:7-8]

I am not Christian, but I was just curious to know. ^-^

Christ talked about its not what comes into the body that defiles it but what comes out of the body. I personally don't eat pork but it isn't unchristian to eat pork. If you are Jewish or follow the "Law" then no your not supposed to eat or any unclean animal.

Christians are not bound by the Old Testament (which is where Leviticus is). It's not forbidden for Christians to eat pork.

Again. Third time now. I never said it was thrown away. I said, again, third time, that Christians are no longer FORCED to follow them. They can if they chose. They do not have to.

Oh, okay. :P I still have a lot of queries, so I'll post them as questions, if that's okay. I'm just told different things by christians, so I need more knowledgable sources, like from you. ^.^

It was forbidden in the Old Testament, but back then, they had an Old Covenant.
When Jesus broke bread at the Last Supper, He introduced a New Covenant.
So that's why it's not forbidden today.

Well, I am Christian and I eat pork. Now this is just me but I'm guessing that about 97% of Christians eat pork even though the bible says not to.

I do. all the time and i go to a catholic school and haven't heard of any one not eating pork unless they are vegetarian. so i'm pretty sure its a yes, we do eat pork.

And for the bible verse, you have to remember that was written at least 2000 years ago. pig back then weren't treated like they are today. many of them ran wild, had tons of diseases, and there was no way of telling if there were sick or not. now we can cur pork and aren't taking risks of eating something full for diseases like they once were.
