On the sado river a black boat of the Portuguese Coastguard was sailing on there and two guards were in it. There was a Woman with brown blonde hair, who had her hair tied in a pony tail and wore a cap, the uniform and the life west. The second guard was a man, that was guiding the ship and he had dark brown hair, he wore a cap, the uniform and also a life west. The Woman stand at the nose of the ship and looked around for anything suspicious.
"Eva, honey. Hugo asked me, where he has to go, to candidate at the maritime police, remember?" asked the guy and Eva, the woman, at the ship turned around to him.
"Yes, I remember" she replied.
"He asked me, that he needed help with his application and that he also needed a second reference for it"
"Why me?" asked Eva.
"Well, you're also an coastguard and know him as well as me and thought it's also easier to him, to find a place"
"Daniel, you know, that is not easy to him to find the apprentice ship, even if he has us as references"
"Yes, but I thought, if he had us, they could trust him more, you trust him, don't you?"
"Yes, I do,but..."
"You know, I just wanted to help him, can't I do that?"
"Yes, you can, honey. Don't worry" said Eva and Daniel walked away from the steer wheel and hugged Eva from the back and gave her a peck on the cheek.
"Hey get to the wheel" said Eva giggling.
"Nope, first I want to snuggle with you" said Daniel and lied his head on hers and she laughed.
"Oh Daniel" replied Eva and leaned her to his. Somewhere in the sea appeared a rectangular shaped wood part on a sea and there lied a woman with shredded, dirty and messy clothes on it with something in her arms. Eva and Daniel were still into their hug and Eva heard something crying. She looked around and hold one of Daniel's hand.
"Daniel, listen" said Eva and he stopped hugging her and tried to listen.
"Is that a baby crying?" asked Daniel and looked at the sea along with Eva. On a part they saw the woman on the wood.
"There it is!" said Daniel and ran to the wheel and turned to their direction.
"Good, I try to contact the INEM" said Eva and took the phone and called it. The boat was reaching the persons and they saw a woman holding a baby, that was crying.
"The woman is hurt" said Daniel and stopped the boat near of the wood and ran to Eva's side and tried to reach the wood. Eva put her phone back and ran to the wheel to bring the boat a bit nearer. Daniel felt into the water.
"Daniel?" asked Eva and walked to the part, where he felt down and he came back to the surface and shook his head.
"Pooh" puffed Daniel.
"Are you alright?" asked Eva and he nodded.
"Yes, I'm good" said Daniel and pulled the wood near to the ship. The woman on the ship was hurt and in a weak state.
"Good morning, ma'am my name is Eva Pelicano and I'm from the maritime police of Setúbal" introduced Eva.
"Please take my baby and take care of it" said the woman and Eva looked at her eyes.
"Promise me, take care of him" said the woman. Eva looked at her and nodded.
"Don't worry ma'am, everything will be fine" said Eva and took the crying baby. Daniel climbed into the boat and stood up.
"Daniel, can you bring the woman into the boat?" asked Eva. Rotors were heard from the sky and Daniel and Eva looked up and saw a emergency helicopter of the INEM.
"Hey, here we are!" screamed Eva and waved with the hands. Daniel went to the wheels and turned a light on and turned it to the helicopter and blinked with it. The helicopter stopped in the air and started to come a little bit down. One of the workers in the helicopter opened the side door and the helicopter kept going more down.
"You can already give me the baby" said the guy of the helicopter and Eva reached the man the baby and he took it and then pulled on the rope, to get pulled in.
"Eva, help me pulling the woman to the boat" demanded Daniel and Eva went to help him lifting the woman up.
After a few hours Eva and Daniel passed by the hospital, where the refugees were hospitalized and went to visit them. They walked to the reception and they were attend by a young man.
"Good morning Officers, how can I help you?" asked the man.
"Hello, we came here to see a refugee, that was hospitalized here along with a baby around the 11 in the morning" said Daniel.
"Ah yes,well the woman just died during the travel time with the helicopter and the baby is still hospitalized"
"Oh"
"Did you discover, from where they from?" asked Eva.
"Well, they were fleeing from the war in Syria, like the most, that were seen in the news"
"And about family and so, did you find something else out?" asked Eva.
"Well, the woman lost his husband there at the war and she said, she was running away along with others and they got lost at the Ocean."
"And the baby?"
"Well, the baby is hers and his name is Ranjid" answered the receptionist.
"What is going to happen with the baby?" asked Daniel.
"He's probably going to be taken by the social workers to bring to the orphanage"
"Oh poor guy" said Eva sad.
"Well, thank you for the information" said Daniel and walked with Eva to the entrance of the hospital.
"Poor baby" said Daniel.
"Yeah" replied Eva sad.
"Honey?" asked Daniel and she looked at him. He placed his hand on Eva's chin and looked at her. "What's going on?"
"I feel bad, that the baby lost his parents and that it will have to go to the orphanage" answered Eva. "I wish we could help him"
"We saved his life, we already helped him. We cant make more miracles, or can we?" asked Daniel and Eva thought for a moment.
"Well..." said Eva and placed her finger on Daniel's chest and made circular moves on there. "We could adopt him" suggested Eva.
"Adopt?" asked Daniel.
"Yes, adopt" replied Eva and looked at him and took her hand back.
"Well, I really thought about having a family, but I thought, that uhm...we would make them, you know..." said Daniel, getting confused.
"Yes and we will do it too, you know, when I wanted to help the woman and she told me to take care of it I... just had to promise that" said Eva and looked down. "I understand, if you don't want to adopt it"
"Eva, look at me" asked Daniel and she turned her face up to him.
"I did not say, that I wanted to adopt him, right?" asked Daniel.
"...Right" replied Eva.
"If you want, we adopt Ranjid" said Daniel and Eva's eyes had a kind of sparkle in it. "And maybe a few years later, we give him another brother...or sister" he said and Eva smiled.
"Really?" asked Eva. "You really want to do that?" asked Eva.
"Yes, if you want" replied Daniel and Eva embraced him.
"You're the best" said Eva and hold his face spread pecks around his face.
"I just want the best for you" said Daniel and shared then a kiss with her.

"...Right" replied Eva.
"If you want, we adopt Ranjid" said Daniel and Eva's eyes had a kind of sparkle in it. "And maybe a few years later, we give him another brother...or sister" he said and Eva smiled.
"Really?" asked Eva. "You really want to do that?" asked Eva.
"Yes, if you want" replied Daniel and Eva embraced him.
