Anti's: What did Twilight do to You?

Look guys, I don't like Twilight, but you're being ridiculous. It never "destroyed" any of you. You're still alive and here, aren't you?

1. Made me a whole bunch of friends. :D
2. Made me get a Buffy-staked-Edward T-shirt.
3. Made me want to go back in time and set fire to Meyer's computer.
4. Made me question what books were good or bad.
5. Made me gain a few enemies over the internet.

1. Lowered the level of influence that heroines should be credited with. The character of Bella and the point-of-view that the book was written in made it seem like the abuse that Edward was inflicting upon her was because he 'loved' her.
What is this? What sane man watches a woman sleep without her knowledge? And when she found this out, what did she do? She ooed and awwed at how much he loved her.

2. Lowered the English proficiency rate by 10%. It's called grammar Meyer, look it the fuck up.

3. Made me love Harry Potter even more. I thank you for that.

4. Made me love being a strong woman who does not need a man just to feel sane. [what a message you are giving impressionable young adults, Meyer]

1.The other stereotype that you have no taste if you dont find Robert or Taylor attractive. Ahh There are billions of famous men.

2. Bella makes us look like Mary Sues who will fall for any guy, and who cant survive without one. Im not a feminist, but come on! Disney Princesses have more attitude than her.

3. I now have to explain that I like traditional vampires. Instead of just saying vampires. Because people think they are sparkly sex symbols-WTF???

4.Yeah..I love the name Bella, but if I have a daughter her name will be BELLATRIX now, not just Bella.

5. The stupid media keeps trying to replace a classic like Harry Potter with this garbage

6. It DID take over alot of My local Hot Topic BUT most of the shit went to Clearance nobody bought all that crap.

7. I cant look at Cedric the same way. I now want Voldemort to kill him in Goblet of Fire.

8.They other sad insult to literature that people think Twilight is like Romeo and Juliet-EXCUSE ME? Shakespeare Meyer is NOT. She wouldnt amount to his pinkie finger.

9.The constant overexposure on magazines when I want to read one, or tv interviews. Ick.

10.Made me vow, never to endorse anything Twilight in any way, shape or Form. NO WAY NO HOW.

Okay, so I was in the school foyer, waiting to be let into the Library with the rest of my class, when I saw a little Twilight tribute. It had some info on the author, and some stuff about the characters and plotline, dished out with some apples and ribbons.

So, I turned to my friend next to me, Shanice, and said 'Oh god! It's TOO SPARKLY!' and pretended to be 'blinded by the light'.

Then I got looked at by Twi-hards with mouths agape, before they all started yelling at me and attempting to beat the snot out of me.

It also made me hate my generation... We are known as the Generation who actually LIKES sparkly vampires. If I want something cool, hard as granite, and sparkly, I could just stare at my kitchen bench.

Also... Mary-Sues. I HATE Mary-Sues. And Bella is a Mary-Sue. Hur hur...

I can no longer say the words 'Lunar Eclipse' or, 'At twilight' without being stared at by giggling, airhead fangirls.

3. Made me wanna' rip my hair out everytime a Twilight-themed commercial came on.

2. Made me and that same friend have a bunch of arguments
3. Everytime I go to Netflix to get a vampire movie, they recoment Twilight.
4. Made me dislike hot topic.
5. Destroyed femininity.
6. Also destroyed the meaning of a strong relationship to a strong, abusive man and a weak girl who ngets no say.
7. Every time there's a new moon, I can't go without hearing at least 1 fangirl giggle/squeal.

True story: My guy friend likes this girl, and she is a HUGE fan of Twilight. Her current boyfriend is abusive, and turned her into a little weakling. She isn't complaining, because apparently, that's what Edward would do. So my friend reported the boyfriend to the school counsler, and we're waiting to see what happens.

All of the above.
Plus ruined my relationship with my sister, who hated Twilight until it was forced upon her by my older cousin.

Now we have nothing in common. She turned to a more gothic style, writes dark poetry, and hates anime.

1. Improved my grammar and spelling because I didn't want to be like those deranged fangirls.
2. Made me realize that most people don't have common sense
3. I can never look at the word Twilight the same way.
4. I made me appreciate the comic "Foxtrot" a lot more.
5. Disgusted me for turning vampires from frightening, scary, seductive creatures that haunt people into sparkling, vegetarian fruitcakes.
6. Helped me get one of my best friends.

1) Turned most of my old friends insane and braindead and forced me to find a new circle of friends.
2) Destroyed the local Hot Topic.
3) Caused me to want to be a writer so that Twilight will become old news and nothing compared to my awesomeness.
4) Made me write "I hate Twilight" all over everything I own.
5) Made a few teachers concerned about my sanity when I said that I hated Twilight.
6) Caused me to have a 10-minute conversation with my school librarian on how horribly written Twilight is.
And now the positives:
7) Made me realize how much it sucked whem my mom wouldn't let me watch the movie until I finished the book. Both were duds.
8) Made me take up reading better books. I stared reading The Gallagher Academy series and when I finished that, I started reading The Hunger Games. Best choice I've ever made.
9) Caused me to start liking Percy Jackson and the Olympians books. I was given The Lightning Theif as a present after I saw the movie. I read it and after I found out it was a series, I read the whole series and am currently reading The Lost Hero.
10) And finally, It made me interested in the best thing that could've ever entered my life: Total Drama Island. I started watching it after I saw the suckishness that is Twilight to clear my mind of it. I have officially deemed it a cure for Twi-Hard (as well as Bieber Fever) along with MAD.

1. Made me more of a Feminist.
2. Made the stereotype that all girls love Twilight and Edward.
3. 'Isabella' is one of my favourite names, but I can't use it, as I will be associated with Twilight.

There's probably more, but those are three main ones.

1) Made me more careful about writing fantasy stories, in fear it will end up sounding like Edward
2) Screwed up my liking of the names Jasper and Alice
3) Screwed up my best friend's book she was writing. It was about something meaningful, two kids who were dealing with their parents' separation...now it's about a girl who comes out as a vampire at her school. By the way...she's sparkly >.>
4) Redefined the meaning of "Mary-Sue"
5) Made me seriously dislike using the word "twilight," when it used to be my absolute fav-or-ite word to use T.T
6) Gave my friend depression
7) Made my other friend think she was a vampire for our entire seventh grade year...she tried to kill herself because of it...o.e
8) Made me choose a freakin' team (Tyler's Van FTW)
9) Makes me cringe every time I drop an apple
10) Makes me feel like that accursed Mary-Sue every time I trip down the stairs
11) Makes me love cats even more
12) Made me into a Jacob fangirl for a week and made me write a stupidly OOC fanfiction of me and him (bolded because I'm bitter about this)
13) Destroyed my mother's taste in books (She literally said it was the greatest series she had ever read in the history of literature)
14) Turned my other friend into a Twilight-Hating emo with serious issues against any mention of vampires (this is the friend who thought she was a vampire in the seventh grade)

15) Made me start listening to Paramore and Muse (one of the few good things that came out of the movie...>.>)

1) ruined my freinds! there all stupid now because of those movies! 2) ruined the world with its globalness... i cant handle any more twilight based barbie dolls! 3) halloween. people dress up as the charectors and look like everyday people! annoying! 4) the bookstore. i see book marks. and a bunch of crap including twilight! 5)pets are being named, with Bella, Edward, Swan, ect. 6)I cant go anywhere with out hearing the word twilight eclipse edward blahblahblah

Well, it made me hate my school, because it is like a shipper altar for twilight, posters, t-shirts EVERYWHERE. And i got a black eye for saying that Buffy is way better than Twilight.

The name Dawn still works for me.. Because of Buffy x)

Made me really angry about how it ruined the vampire stereotype.
Made me appreciate better books, though. I finally read The String of Pearls (the real Sweeney Todd novel) which is adapted from a Victorian penny dreadful. Now I'm imagining Twilight as a penny dreadful, only it would probably be called a Free-Because-Nobody-Would-Pay-For-It Atrocious-and-Disgraceful, if Twilight was in one.
It did make me love Harry Potter a lot more though, which I didn't think was possible. And I've decided that if I HAD to narrow it down between Team Edward and Team Jacob, I would be...Team Snape.

It took away hours of my life...

1. It ruined a name I was going to use :( Fantasia Swan, that sounds good, right?
2. I'm a fan of mythology, and this... I'm just thankfull they aren't Greek
3. It gave me hope to get published :)
4. It introduced me to the word Mary-Sue
5. I laughed so much with Sparklife blogging Twilight and Alex/Charlie reads Twilight (I should go check that)
6. I joined 2 clubs
7. Instead of betting money I can bet "If it isn't him I'll write 'I love Twilight' 7 times on the wall no quotation marks"
8. I get to read funny answers like the one above
9. I got introduced to the girls my age who dont actually think about things they read, or can write hot properly
10. Made me respect my mom even more when I found her sleeping with a copy of Twilight in her hand. She was at page 6.
11. Humiliated the name of girls under the age of 17
12. Made me realise 'chagrin' can be used in not only the French language, but English too.
13. Gave my friends new ways to troture me
14. I saw a lot of funny pictures
15. I face-palmed a lot.

3)Made me have so much fun out in public. All I have to scream is "Look there's Taylor Launtner!!" and I get so much joy out of that watching all of the 40 year-old woman scream there heads off.

5)Made me laugh my head of when I type in "down with....." and the first thing that pops up is "Down with Twighlight"

2 things really.
1) realise how many people eat this up. Most if not all the people I know have either read them or seen the film. So many of them self respecting intelligent adults. Just proves that life doesn't always make sense.
2) can't go anywhere without hearing something about it.

That's bout it really. Oh n sm is annoying, almost as annoying as nigella Lawson.

3. Gave me self esteem with my writing, because if that could get published, anything can.
4. Gave me the nickname Hermione, because if they didn't say Twilight was the new Harry Potter, I wouldn't be so obsessed with Harry Potter.

Negative
1. People now think of "sparkling" vampires.
2. Lost me quite a few friends.
3. Made most of the "popular let's dip our faces in orange" girls in my class turn on me.
4. Put stupid posters of guys with their shirts off in shops.
5. Made me realise how air-headed and boy-crazed girls can be to be oblivious of the fact that there's no story besides "the pretty people were happy and the bad people died."

Twlight didn't do anything to anyone, therefore, you're all just upset with the fact that these people: Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Jackson Rathebone, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Keelan Lutz, Peter Facellini, Cam Giginhat (something like that name??) o__o I think you people are just judging the book by its movie. Did anyone ever READ the actual book? Not descriptions of it, not reviews, but the actusl book. Because, 90% (maybe an over-estimate) of haters or "Anti's" didn't even read the book. You can't just say you don't like it if you haven't read it.

First of all, I did READ Twilight. I read the first novel from the beginning till the very end and found it very badly written. I was like: "How could that get published?!! And what is so special about it that everyone is SO crazy over this book?" I read the rest of the series, though I admit I skipped pages, because reading this was very painful, Twilight suffers from the lack of plot, it is annoyingly repetive and dialogs are beyond unrealistic. But that's me and I respect everyone's opinion. All of my friends are Twilight fans and it's not a problem for us.

What Twilight did to me?

Absolutely nothing. I just wasted my time on it, nothing more.
