So, this article(as you can obviously see from the title) is about Stephanie Meyer. Oh yes, I'm pretty sure you've heard of her. The author of the Twilight Saga and the Host, she's pretty much one of the most popular writers at this point. Why?
I really don't know.
The list of reasons
1)Her writing
Okay, even back when I was a mega fan of twilight(bows head in shame), I never liked the writing. Its just..not good. Hard to explain really. Now reading the books again, one things went through my mind the whole time:
How did she get a degree in English Litarature?
Also, the facts that she uses fancy adjectives in like, every sentence, does not maker her a good writer.
2)Attiude
I'm sure you heard of Midnight Sun being canceled(if not, what rock are you living in?), and Meyer simpily said on the subject:
"My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn't like math; in math, two plus two will always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probraly win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun , and so it is on hold indefinitely."
...Really Stephanie?
I mean...come on!
Ok, I understand being upset. If I was writing a novel and it got leaked, I be upset too. But the fact that you have SO many fans who want you to continue this novel, and you stop writing it just because you thinks its not worth it. You shouldn't do that to your fans.
3)Breaking Dawn
I guess you can say that this isn't about me complaning about Stephanie Meyer, but Twilight it self, but she wrote the series, so it counts right?
Yes? Okay then
Now...Breaking Dawn aka worst book ever, seemed so...rushed. I mean, exploding stomach babies? Half-breeds? What was she thinking? I mean, even a lot of twilight fans(mostly NOT on fanpop) hate the book. My sister aka one of the biggest twilight fans aka Edward Obsessor, hated the book.
But if you like it, thats fine. I don't have a problem with that
But back on the subject.
4)Reserch
Yes, reserch can be annoying, but it can also make your book better. One of the main problems I have with "Eclipse" is when Rosalie tells Bella that while she was living in New York during the Great Depression, was able to stay in a Middle Class cession, because her father owned a bank.
Yeah, Stephanie?
Do you want to know what the main problem during the Great Depression was?
The banks FAILED!

I mean, that really annoyed me
5)She based Bella on herself
Many people do deny this, but its quite obvious that Bella is based on herslef. I mean, the looks! Bella and Stephanie basically have the same looks. Stephanie tried to defend herself by saying "Bella was more mature than I was in high school."
A) Not a good excuse at all
B) Bella mature? REALLY?

Wow, that was WAY longer than my other articles huh? Well, as you can see, I have a lot of problems with her. Hated it? Loved it? Please let me know. Sorry if I offended anyone. Please, if you like her, dont attack me!
