Well, I'm a Twilight fan, but I like to be critical of the series anyways. But recently, I discovered that a lot of the Twi-hater fanbase (or hatebase?) has been consisted of mostly people who have only seen the movies, and I instantly saw how there were so many Twi-haters.
Let me just start off by saying that the movie sucks a**, and I'm being NICE! The acting is terrible, they cut out about half the book and completely interpreted the book in all the wrong ways, the script sounded like it had been written by a five year old, and the actors portrayed the characters so poorly, I almost became a full blown Twi-hater.
But I didn't. I read the book BEFORE it was popular, BEFORE the fan girls and the critical analysis, before any of my friends had even read it, and I liked it simply because I thought it was a cool take on vampires. It wasn't even popular, there wasn't even a RUMOR of a movie.
All I'm trying to say is that I'm suggesting reading the books BEFORE the movie, and then you can make your opinion. If you don't like the books, I can respect you for that. But if you just watch the crappy movie, I can't respect you as a Twi-hater.
