*sigh* I hate it when any famous artist, whether talented or not, think they're above the rest of us mortals just because they had success. Some think they are untouchable and instead of dealing with criticism by defending their work with solid arguments, they are just in denial.
Is there a part two? I'd like to read it. The tone is a bit aggressive and the same things could be said in a softer, more effective way, but I agree with many of the points.
Are they all real quotes of hers? I'm just...I'm stunned she would call another author out for having weak stupid female characters. That is so ironic and strange it almost makes me doubt she wrote (or ever read) Twilight. Or it would if the childlike way she speaks didn't reek of Twilight.
I don't mean any of this to offend fans, and hope my opinion of her doesn't upset them, but seriously, I'm almost concerned about her. I feel like she has some undiagnosed mental handicap. She behaves like she grew to the age of about ten then just stopped. Not even trying to be rude, I have relatives who aren't even into double digits yet who are more articulate, mature and humble.
That sounds mean, and I'm honestly not trying to offend, I'm just so beyond baffled by this woman.
Even though it's kind of mean in its phrasing I do like reading stuff like this...helps me vent out some of my own Twilight/Meyer frustration.
And P.S. Asvini: I'm kinda starting to think that too...at first her behavior was just kind of annoying to me, but now I'm honestly getting a bit concerned.
^Thanks for the link! The Seth part made me roll my eyes so hard. He is not helping her at all. Also, I find it hilarious she plays the "you can't please everyone" card to justify her flaws, but then acts completely butthurt when someone dares say that maybe, just maybe, there are some things that could be improved, not to mention that others are terrible, disregard continuity, are poorly written, and so on.
'In an attempt to keep the books clean and not make young girls think about things that they don't need to think about, no other book mentioned anything about reproductive systems.'
Ok, what?! Edward and Bella are always making out in the books; which would make young girls think about that (which 'they don't need to'). So that's fine, but we're not allowed to teach them about reproductive systems, which would probably be much more benefical? Seriously, what is this guy on?
Stephenie has to be...no...IS the worst, narsasistic, idiotic, dumbass, moronic, so called 'author' that has ever attempted to write...EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes, really late at night when I read stuff like this, I really wish that I could reach into all the Twilight books and take out all the good characters to give them the proper story they deserve. I would even take Edward and Jacob from her so she couldn't fawn over them. Yep. That sounds like a good idea.
She is seriously criticizing Jane Austin and... WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE!?!? How dare she. She doesn't even UNDERSTAND his books! She really thought Romeo and Juliet were supposed to be in love? She really is an idiot, isn't she? Jane Austin is one of the (if not the) greatest romance author(s) of all time. Meyer is NOTHING on her, in fact, compare Meyer's work to ANY other work and it will look like crap. It looks like crap on it's own, actually, it really doesn't need the help of other somewhat decent books (I mean, even The Clique is better than Twilight. THAT is saying something.)
I really think she has some psychological issues. She would leave her husband for a fictional character? Seriously? She thinks Edward and Bella's relationship is even remotely healthy? She thinks Bella is a good role model? Yep, she definitely has something wrong in her overly huge head.
I cannot stand this woman. She is narcissistic, whiny, immature and downright rude. I hope she one day realizes just how pathetic she and her writing really are (I'm not sure how to say that sentence correct. Whatever.)
Seriously, that was totally awesome. I need to read that second part now. Meyer truly seems like such a horrible, egoistical person. I am writing an article about Bella's implied Narcissistic Personality Disorder and your article was definetely a boost! Now I know where she gets it from.
I am actually a mild fan of the series but I really don't like her.

But who the hell compares themselves to Shakespeare and Austen, and comes out the victor? I mean, seriously?
I hope that in 8 years, when Twilight is just a distant and unpleasant memory for the world, she realizes how pathetic that is.
And P.S. Asvini: I'm kinda starting to think that too...at first her behavior was just kind of annoying to me, but now I'm honestly getting a bit concerned.
I found part two. It doesn't really make any new points but we do find out that Seth Meyer is mean.
I wish these quotes weren't true but I found all of them:

Seth is a douchebag. A childish, upity, douchebag.
I feel concerned for Stephanie, but I still want to smack them both in the back of the head.
