I saw that the other day and it just peed me off if I'm honest. I will readily admit that Twilight fans are not great with coming up with reasons why it's better than x, y and z but some of the Harry Potter fans there were just being immature. And when I went into a HP forum on that spot, some HP fans told a Twilight fan to get out of that forum because it was a HP forum but they have no trouble going into a Twilight forum and saying crap? Bit hypocritical...

^Exactly what I was thinking but I wasn't pissed. I think some of the HP fans were a little harsh back there but the Twifans aren't helping either. :)

well its not just a book, obviously. and if the twihards could come up with some good arguments on why Twilight is better than Harry Potter, the Hp fans wouldnt need to be so harsh because theyd actually respect the Twihards for being intelligent.. just saying.

Have you ever actually analyzed twilight while reading it? It is about an abusive boyfriend and a girl who feels she needs him, because she thinks that without him she is helpless. What kind of role models ae those? Twilight is written for angsty teens who want to date the bad boy, even if that means being in an abusive relationship. Harry Potter goes deeper than that. It has emotion and feelings, not just crap thrown into words. It's not just one genre (romance). There is humour, romance, action, mystery, darkness. So think it through before you critize somehing you know nothing about! PEACE OUT!! oh and ps. Harry Potter has actual werewolves, that actually transform in a full moon, not some lame shape shifters!

And the whole 'Have you ever actually analyzed twilight while reading it?', I think we all know that this spot is called 'Critical ANALYSIS of Twilight'. I posted this link because I thought some of the HP fans were rather rude and the Twifans weren't coming up with good reasons as well.

well people...it's amazing that I found this website because it is quite interesting to read... today I had a big arguement with my friend about the whole harry potter verses twilight bussiness and I think I have researched enough to say a few valid points. I started reading twilight when I was twelve years old in grade six...I read the first three books in 3 nights. Many people has argued that Harry potter is only for older readers. I started reading harry potter when I was in grade 4, (I am really sorry , I do not wish to offend anyone nor do I wish to critisise twilight as I do not HATE twilight)and unlike a lot of people, I grew up and so did the story in harry potter. Also many people have stated that Harry potter needs to grow up...it's a story. I am sure that it is quite immposible for someone to change the story so that it suits them. Have you ever thought about this? that maybe some people are sick of being old? that for sometime they find pleasure in opening up a harry potter book and losing themselves into a world where good verses evil and wins after a long struggle? unlike the real world where many of us have to go through alot to pay the bills. Also a long time ago someone said that twilight is the modern romeo and juliet. Excuse me? that really got me angry? Romeo and Juliet is not about a vampire falling in love with a human girl, it is about two star-crossed lovers who die for each other. I don't hate twilight. I love edward and I adore jacob and in new moon I felt sorry for bella. But harry potter in the other is what I read when I need a break. I cried when dumboldore died. I was really upset when fred tonks and lupin died and also I was extremly sad when dobby died, but hey...these are MY opinions...now to get to some facts...I don't blame twilight or stephanie meyer for not having a good plot, but it is a fact that the twilight saga was planned in two months where as J.K rowling spent 5 years ploting the harry potter series. J.K rowling is the writer I prefer when it comes to stories because when I read harry potter I am taken into a whole new universe where wizards exist. twilight in the other takes brings me back to earth. Edward is almost too perfect to exist. Don't judge a book by looks if you do you, you are just as shallow as Bella. Of course you can relate to Bella because she has no personality whatsoever. The Cullen family are not close. Come on Alice ditched all of them for Jasper. And the Weasley family actually died for eachother.

Edward Cullen seems to be borrowing the same anti-social personality of a lot of characters but makes himself all emo! Squall is one character Edward mimics, Cloud Strife is another there are also many anime guys he mimics such as Kamui Shirou... Sadly of course, those characters he mimics have a developed character and are part of a big plot that doesn't center around romance. Edward is basically Gerard Way's son (Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance) who he had with the lead singer of Hawthorne Heights.

Bella looks like some girl who just appeared as Edward's equal, she didn't have an opposite personality really but became obsessed with her glampire to the point she psyched herself into loving him!

The characters of Harry Potter are all well developed having actual history, surprises and a plot that builds up to a bone chilling moment! Stephanie Meyers reminds me of those crazy fangirls at an N*SYNC concert who became obsessed with Orlando Bloom and writes fan-fiction about Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

She just so suddenly watched Queen of the Damned thus had the dream she began writing about, which led to *tada* Twilight... She probably thought she wanted to be absolutely a breakaway so she created glampires and shapeshifter werewolves (extremely watered down monsters, actually not monsters just plushies brought to life).

I hope they don't generate any more ruinations of entertainment, that's what the 00's did. We are finished with the worst decade in history!

Harry Potter is a rare complex book to which I'm still finding connections between words and meanings that JK Rowling wrote. Twilight is just another teen craze, like Shes the man, mean girls and clueless just with "vampires" and shapeshifters. And I've read twilight and was a bit disgusted with ending.

Twilight is just about some Obsessive needy girl who is obsessive with a vampire. Harry Potter actually has a story to it. The love in Harry Potter is real. Bella falls in "Love" as soon as she sees him. The love in Harry Potter is so special, Lilly's love protects Harry from Voldemort. J,K Rowling is not afraid to get rid of the good guys, that is what makes it so believable. I could write more reasons but, I don't wanna make the Twi-Hards cry :)

I also find it funny that there are more comments explaining why Harry Potter is better, than comments explaining why Twilight is better. And what I REALLY found funny, was the fact that there is 1, just 1 reason why Twilight is better than Harry Potter, when on the forum talking about why Harry Potter is better, there is hundreds. This forum really amused me. So funny.

@cassie-1-2-3 I've read the whole Twilight Saga and All the Harry Potter's. But the HP Fans have a point. I'm a 'teen girl. I ''loved'' Twilight for a while but really, it's poorly written and abusive. Harry Potter, yeah, The Dursley's are abusive but they have cause. Harry Potter is more than 'just a book.' To me, I Grew up when i read through it. Yeah, I grew up at 11 years old. I started reading it in fourth year in Primary and finished in sixth.
My favourite 2 reasons:
1)When Edward broke up with Bella she went 'EMO' and tried to commit suicide (jumping off a cliff) and did dangerous things to see a Halucination.
When Harry broke up with Ginny she started DA Again, Nicked Gryffindor's sword and camped out in the RoR.

2)Bella taught us all we're nothing without a man. Hermione taught us To be confident, Read, try our best and there's nothing wrong having guy bestfriends.

So there.. Im a Twilight+HarryPotter reader, There's my view.

I don't like Harry Potter. I used to love it, but I grew out of it. It's just a book to me.
I like Twilight. It's not just a book that told a story to me. I have weaved it into my own person; my emotions; my way of living; and my developmental morals and values.

I'm not a teen girl. My admiration of the story of Twilight is not a phase. I have the right to feel this way about it just as you have the right to feel the same about Harry Potter.

I started reading Harry Potter at age 10 and finished at 20, so I didn't just figuratively grow up with Harry Potter. It made no difference, I still don't like it. I dislike the sencence structure and I feel the whole story was repetetive. The characters were not as intelligent or strategic as they were meant to be.
The thing is, I don't think it's right for me to insult you, or anyone else for liking something I don't.

I fount morals, lessons, and themes in the story. Twilight didn't teach me that I am nothing without a boyfriend. It didn't teach me that I should be abused.
It taught me the importance or resistance (non-sexual), virtue, persistance, and devotion.

That's my view.

I would say practically that J.K's style in writing is a bit unusual.. as you can see .. J.K puts a twist on every book ( for example.. on the prisoner of Azkaban , we think that Sirius was the bad guy but in the end Wormtail or Peter was the real traitor .)

.. Twilight is merely of Vampires and Werewolves which we or ME dont find unique or special , its a common point , vampire love. werewolves hate vampires .. and so on .. (Blah, Blah, Blah)

But a story bout Wizards and a young boy trying to reveal his future and past and fighting an evil Wizard ., well it definitely beats a STory about Vampires and Werewolves by light years away :))

@stingbub! thanks for sayin "RODDIKULUS!"....i've read alot about twihard's views...and i conclude than they are not so into the story or charecter..they just like to "watch/read" it happening!1 i mean i don't know if anyone ever cried for a Twilight movie! whn BD2.O released the world wasn't sad...whereas the whole world was literally mourning when hp7p2 released! when JKR said that"line "wether you come back by page or by the big screen..HOgawts will always be there to welcome you home" tellmee which true potterhead didn't get goosebumps or cried at it!

Even though I like the way that both of them are written;descriptive, not too fast paced etc... I have to say that the plot in twilight is not the best. For example, if you remove the love triangle from the hunger games then it's about a tv show where the capitalist government makes kids fight to the death. Remove the love triangle in twilight and its about a girl who moves to a town where it rains a lot. All in all I found the Harry potter series, which were the first non-picture books that I read, and grew up reading, to be more complex, suitable for all ages and about far more in depth topics. I also have to say that for people who have read either the Twilight saga or the Harry Potter series, both relatively large books there is still way too much text typing in these comments. I realise that not everyone upholds the same views as me, and I do think that twilight is a good book to read when you are feeling depressed and don't want to have to re-experience the trauma of Dobby' s death.

According to my view, Harry Potter's characters are much more deep than Twilight's. I read both the series. Harry Potter is just too good for any other book, you can read it in any age, and can go into the depth suitable for the age. I learnt a lot from Harry Potter, one of my favorite line is when Dumbledore says,
'There is no need to fear the dead or the dark, for it is just the unknown that we fear.' helped me grow out of my fear for darkness which i guess almost every child must have had.
Or the 'The people who die whom we love, never truly leave us... In times when we need them the most, they always help us... Today prongs rode again, Harry... You found your father... Inside you...'- my fav quotes.
No offense, but i never found anything 'inspirational' from Twilight, it's just a fad, while Harry Potter is a lifestyle, it will move on.
