At first it was dead silent, but it didn't stay that way for long. The sky erupted with winds, I couldn't hold my ground much longer. One foot slipped, and next thing I know I was clawing at the gravel. a cold and bony hand reached out to grab me."NO!" I scream "JACKSON!" John tries to yell over the wind, but it comes out no more than a whisper. "Give me your hand" he was about three feet in front of me with his arm extended. I slip back a few feet trying to reach him, he quickly crawls forward and grabs my arm. "your not getting away from me that easily Jackson." " glad about that" I whisper. The winds slowly die down. All is calm again, but an eerie feel lies over district 4....

cool I like it
i don't come on often as I did but a few tips
I LOVE all the details and the character's senses but you need to add a little more action. Your details add up to a major cliffhanger but then you need a kick. You really captured Percy personallity though and Annabeth and Katniss-I wonder who would go into the reaping. If Peeta is in the story then Katniss but Percy has to get choosen so Annabeth. Ahh, it's so good. Keep it up.

I wake up in a cold sweat, shaking from the dream I had and clawing at the bed sheets. The fear slowly goes away. What was today? I was pretty sure that...My eyes widen, the fear quickly comes back with such and intensity that it hurts my chest. "no no no no no oh gods!!!" today was reaping day.
The clock strikes two. All of district 4 gathered in the town square, boys girls aging from 12 to 18 while parents watched praying that there child wouldn't be picked.

I spotted Tyson in the crowd, his sea green eyes connecting with mine. 'Be safe' I can almost here him whisper. The mayor steps up on to the stage and reads the history on district 4, and now for the real games. "now sense it is a quarter quell there will be two girls and two boys." "may the gods be ever in your favor, lady's first!" Rosana reached into the bowl and pulled out a small strip of paper

"Kate Pratt" Kate stepped up on the stage looking fearsome, but I saw right through her. She was practically crying, the tears swelled up in her eyes, but she blinked them back down "next is Luna Finch" Luna did break down "Next the boys" she reached down into the bowl as I prayed that I wouldn't be picked "Perseus Jackson"

Why? That was the only thing that ran though my head I stepped up on to the stage and took a deep breath and looked out to the ocean listing for who I would have to battle, "Tyson Jackson" my eyes widened "no" I mumble
