I love the CSI franchise, definitely my favorite series of series. I'm a true crime junkie, and I love forensics and am fascinated with the entire process of solving crimes. I know these shows aren't 100% real in how things are done but that's not really the point, is it? That's what Forensic Files is for, and which I also love. I don't mean to make this a battle between all shows, but one can't help but obviously compare them.

I watched the show when it was still airing and loved it then. Years later, after it ended I discovered it was on Netflix and had to binge watch. Now I'm on my second rewatch and I'm more addicted than ever. This is an article about why Miami is my favorite of the CSI franchise.

The Miami scenery is the best!

You might be thinking to yourself "why does this matter?" and that's fine, you can think that. But I'm shallow and I like aesthetically pleasing shows occasionally. Just because it's nice to look at. Of all CSI's, New York is actually my favorite city but I was very disappointed with the way they made it look. Miami makes me want to be there, and I hate tropical weather. That says a...

Some Years Later
It has been a while since I had been back in Miami. A lot of things have changed. I have grown up, toured overseas a couple times, and I have made a life for me. I have friends that I have known since I joined the army and they were coming to live in Miami too. Although, some of them were getting married and I was still my single self which I did not like very much.
The first thing Mark and I were going to was treat ourselves to was some good food. We did not even want to go set our bags down at his fiancee's house. We wanted to eat something good!
"Where is wife," I asked as we sat down at the table.
"She could not make it," he said a little upset, "she had some family thing out of state."
"Ahh, at least you know someone who lives here," I said laughing a bit.
"Yeah, what are you going to do now," Mark asked curiously.
"I have no idea, I just want to eat something good," I stated, "I will eventually have to find somewhere to live."

Kyle's POV
Lola got to come home after a few days in the hospital. It was nice to have her back. Some of the other kids were staring at her oddly because of her neck and arms. But she seemed not to care too much. Whenever she noticed that they were staring to much, she would turn, and make a funny face at them. But it was really good to have her back. We were inseparable during the days. Wherever one went, the other would follower. We were really close.
Lola had been here for a week and then things fell apart me. Some people came by and they adopted Lola. Our worlds had been ripped apart once again. My days were boring and I could not talk to Lola at all. I was so depressing after finding such a good friend!
It was not soon to until I can get out of here myself. I all ways wondered if Lola would still want to meet up and hang out. I really hoped so! It would be fun to catch and know how her new living arrangements are working out.
Every now and then I would go and see Horatio. I asked him if he had heard anything from Lola. But he said he had not heard from Lola. Which I found rather odd since they were so close. I would have thought Horatio would have tired...

Lola's POV
"Lola, please wake up," someone said, "please do not leave me like everyone else has!"
I felt someone squeezing my hand. I looked over it was Kyle.
"Kyle," I said as I busted out in tears, "you are here and alive! Are you okay?!"
I thought I would never see him again. I thought they would have hurt him as much as they did to me.
"I am fine," he said as he wiped a tear away that slipped from my eyes.
I leaned over to give Kyle a hug and my ribs brushed against the arm of the bed. Man, it hurt; but it was not has bad as what happen to me.
"Are you okay," I asked again, "they did not treat you cruelly did they?"
"No, they barley touched me," he said, "the doctor said you will make a full recovery! What did they do to you?"
"I am thankful they dragged us to different places. I would have hated for you to watch what happened to me," I said, "they beat me at first, then duct taped a sack over my head, and then they hung me. It was the worst feeling ever!"

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Eleven
All I can do is stand there and watch as they take her away in an ambulance.
"Come on, son," some cop said as he approached me, "I will take you to the orphanage."
"No, I want to go to the hospital," I stated; "I have to be there when Lola wakes up!"
"I am sorry but I have strict orders to take you directly to the orphanage," he said.
"It is alright," Horatio said as he came to my side, "I am heading to the hospital and I can watch after him."
"Thank you," I said, "I just cannot imagine how terrified Lola will be when she wakes up! Or if she wakes up."
"Why are you thinking like that," he asked oddly, "just because we found her slightly hanging does not mean she is going to die."
"Because everything good in my all ways dies on me or walks out! Nothing stays around too long," I said.
"Everything will be completely fine," he reassured me, "besides, Lola likes you too much to walk away from you!"

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Ten
After getting in the car with the cop, it was clear that we were not going back to the orphanage. We were headed somewhere else. Some part of town that was probably not a good place to be in. I looked over at Lola who was still sulking in her spot. She had not even noticed where we were headed.
"Lola," I whispered, "where are we going?"
"What in the world," she said as she looked out the window, "where are we going?"
"Ahh, now you too speak up," the 'cop' laughed, "the where abouts is a secret but we are meeting some people that you will know, Lola!"
"Who," she asked confused.
"Some guys that are on the inside because of your friend Horatio," the guy said.
"Well, what does that have to do with her," I asked confused, "I know they are friends; but what does that matter?"
"We will hurt him where it hurts him the most," the guy said serious.
I looked over at Lola frighten. She glanced at me and then started throwing punched and kicking the plexiglas that was separating us from this so-called cop.

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Nine
Juvenile detention was so boring. I had nothing to with Lola being gone. I mean usually we would just sit and hang out. But now that she was at hospital there was not much to do. I did not know any of the other kids around here. Most of them looked like freaks anyways.
After the incident I came back here to the juvenile detention. But I stayed over night then I had to go talk to Horatio.
I sat in one of the glass rooms in Horatio's building. Did he have bad news about Lola? Was Lola getting out and was I going to have to stay in longer? Or would it be the other way around?
"Kyle, it is good to see you," Horatio said as he walked in.
"Hey, you too," I said, "is something wrong?!"
"No, not at all! Lola should be here soon," he stated, "I just wanted to thank you before Lola got here! Thank you for keeping Lola safe and giving us the details that we needed."
"No problem. I am glad I could help," I said, "is everything all right with Lola?"

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Eight
Kyle's POV
I cannot even describe what happen. It was all a blur. I just acted on that moment and did not think about anything else. Before I could realize it the cops had surrounded the whole place and Lola was laying on the floor. I had no idea how she had gotten there and why she was conscious.
"Lola, it is over," I said, "you can wake up!"
I saw Horatio and he had his gun pointed at one guy while a cop was putting handcuffs on him.
"Horatio, Lola is not waking up," I said.
I listened as Horatio spouted out directions for everything.
"I am fine," Lola said as some medical people started doing stuff to her.
"Lola, these people are here to help you," Horatio told.
"No, get this stuff off me," she demanded, "I am okay. Stop it!"
"Lola, listen, these people are taking you to the hospital to check you out. Now stop being difficult and let these people do their jobs," Horatio said sternly.

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Seven
Lola's POV
"Hey guys, that Lola girl is back and she has someone with her," the smallest of the guys yelled, "who is he, Lola?"
"I thought he was friend," I said as I busted out crying, "I thought I could run to him but he wants to help you all!"
"I want to help," Kyle said oddly.
"Here, I will take the girlie while Ace here shows you around," the small guy said.
"Kyle," I cried as I tried to get away from him.
"Shut up," Kyle said as lightly hit me across the face.
I went with it and fell to the ground. I could hear stunned silence from all the men in the building. I sat there on the floor fake sobbing.
"I thought you were my friend," I mumbled.
The small guy came over to me and picked me up by my hands which were behind my back.
"Stop that hurts," I pleaded.
"Gentle," Kyle demanded, "she will not be much help if you hurt her!"
Wow, Kyle was really stepping up. I thought he would chicken out. But he was actually doing a really good job.

Horatio wanted to talk to Lola and I at the same time.
"What' up," I asked curiously.
"We want to catch the rest of the men who were on that bus," he stated.
"You wants to use us as bait," Lola said is disbelief.
"Of course you Lola. You know where they are at and what they have been up to," Horatio said, "Besides, you are getting time off from juvenile detention. And Kyle, if you help out; I am all most certain I can get some time taken' off of your sentence."
"But why me, sir," I asked confused.
"Because Lola will go out of her way to make sure those men get caught and get a lot more time," he said, "even though we want them to get caught, Lola would love to add to their jail time."
"And what am I going to do about that," I asked, "I doubt she will listen to me."
"I will try, but there is not much of a promise with that," she said as she slightly laughed, "anyways, what is the plan?!"
"I am not sure; we are still trying to come up with a plan to where we can capture them without anyone getting harmed." Horatio said.

I sat here in one of the glass the rooms with a cop. We were just sitting here silently. Horatio was off to do something. Why on earth would that guy take Lola. I mean she is probably annoying the heck out of them!
"Kyle, come with me," Horatio said as he stuck his head into the room.
I got up and followed him to his hummer.
"Get in," he demanded as I got in quickly.
He opened his door and noticed a piece of paper sitting in his seat.
"What's that," I asked curiously.
"I have no idea," he said as he got out and looked around, "it's a note... from Lola!"
"What," I asked shocked.
"Yeah, but here is the downfall," he stated, "it is a riddle."
"Why would she give you a riddle," I asked confused.
"It is her way of letting me know she is by herself," he said smiling, "she has escaped and is hiding."
"That is great news," I said full of relief, "what is the riddle?"
"It is small, holds a ton of weight, and is used everyday." he read.

A Strange Way of Falling in Love Chapter Four
After sobering up I found out that I was going to have to go to court on two different counts. I had already told them about being blacked mailed to kidnap that woman. I also told them why I had stole the boat and who was on there. They had no idea that Lola was on the boat. It had been hours since I had been arrested. She was still in the cooler and still drunk as ever. I have never seen someone hold so much alcohol! Needless to say Horatio Caine was very upset with her. She was in one of the glass rooms with him and a cop. You could actually hear him yelling at her. The cop and her just stood there. Lola took everything he had to say. She was crying and by the end of his lecture he gave her a hug which I found a little odd! I am sure if she was sober, she would have not been crying. She would have been yelling and trying to throw things! Even though I had not know her that long yet, I could tell shat she was if she was sober. Lola could be predictable sometimes.

A Strange Way to Fall in Love Chapter Three
I hopped onto a random yacht. I had to run; it was only a matter of time before I got caught. First, I disobeyed by parole officer, second, I am being blackmailed to kidnap some woman, and third, I was going to still a yacht. I am not scared of the law, I know the limits of it. I took a swig of whiskey and then started untying the yacht from the dock. All the sudden I heard the yacht motor being cranked up. It was way to late to jump.
I grabbed the bottle of whiskey and quietly snuck to kitchen. I grabbed a knife and made my way to the captain's chair. There was a woman sitting in the chair. I knew I could take her, she was small. But she did not look like she could be a captain of a boat like this.
"Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life," a familiar voice slurred.
"Lola," I asked surprised.
"What in the word," she said as she turned around while dropping a glass bottle on the floor, "what are you doing here?"
"Running from the law while stealing a yacht," I stated.

I got up the next morning and went down stairs. Everyone was gone except for Lola who was sitting at the kitchen table with a number of books in front of her.
"What are you doing," I asked curiously.
"School," she stated simply.
"Usually you do school at school. So, why are you not there," I asked confused.
"I home school, you idiot," she said.
"Well, I did not know," I stated clearly.
"Whatever," she said as she rolled her eyes.
"Your eyes must hurt," I said.
"Why," Lola asked very confused.
"Because you roll your eyes, a lot," I said laughing a little bit.
"Oh whatever," she said, "how old are you?"
"I am 16; why," I asked.
"So you have your license," she asked.
"Yes, why?" I asked even more confused.
"I need you to drive me somewhere," she said as she gathered her books up.
"Where and why," I asked.
"I will leave note for Lisa," she said as she ignored my questions.

A Strange Way of Falling in Love Chapter OneN2P?
Kyle's POV
I did not understand why I was being sent away from my mom. She was the only family I have and will ever have. All I knew is that I was being sent to some foster care place. I was going to live with other kids; but some how that did not help the situation. It all sounded dumb to me anyways. I did not want to be here. Not at all.
"Hi Kyle," someone said as they came up to me, "I am taking you to your foster home. Everything is going to be fine, there is nothing to worry about."
I gave him the dumbest look and followed him. I had already tried getting out of this but they have seen my rebellious marks on my profile. I had messed up big the last time. So they were monitoring me with an ankle bracelet. I was free to go get a job and everything as long as I was good.
"Okay we are here," the man said as pulled up to an old house, "remember they know about kids with problems. So you do not have to be scared, just open up to them."

Crime happens even in sunny south Florida its not every day you get to see some person blown up or even tacked to a tree you might never bee able to see that unless of course you either live in Florida or you watch csi Miami and you get all of the good stuff i would father watch it than live around it and have the cops questioning me every other day to get more information on the crime the csi have to deal with it daily and sometime they don't even get sleep so they are in the lab analyzing the evidence and interrogating people and if the people don't cooperate then there is a big chance that the people go to the holding cell until they decide to talk if they don't get the lawyer first and slip out of the cops hands and kill someone because they are mad because they had to talk to the cops

(Disclaimer: what you're about to hear is my own opinion, so you may or may not agree and you may or may not think of it as petty LOL Bear in mind this is my first article too.)

I'm not very found of the new medical examiner, and it's not because I always liked Alexx. When Tara first arrived on the scene it was kind of a weird experience after the previous season's new one being killed on scene and then the one in between being a plant for the whole Horatio conspiracy. But once that shock was over, it was kind of like, wait a minute...what is she, like 22? She didn't seem old enough to be a medical examiner, let alone the head one! So I did a little research on the educational requirements for a medical examiner.

First there is the four years of undergraduate studies to earn the bachelors degree. Then there is 4 more years of medical school. After that you must complete 3-8 years (depending on specialty) of internship/residency. Which equals out to between 11-16 years. Meaning if a person begins immediately out of high school at the age of 18, they would be 29-34 by the time they have completed the requirements.

Exclusive: Khandi Alexander Departs CSI: Miami

Khandi Alexander by Doug Hyun/CBSOK, now this is getting downright ridonkulous.

For the third time this week, I'm bringing you exclusive news about yet another cast shake-up at a hit procedural. This time 'round, the show in question is CSI: Miami and the departing thesp is Khandi Alexander.

Although CBS declined to comment, a Miami insider confirms that Alexander — who has played medical examiner Alexx Woods since day one — is leaving at the end of the season. What's the story behind this exit? I'm not 100 percent certain, but, from what I gather, it wasn't one of those mutual deals we've been hearing about so much lately. Let's just say Alexander had some, um, issues with a certain aspect of the show and leave it at that, K?

Meanwhile, Miami's on the prowl for a new medical examiner to succeed Alexander, and word on the street is the newbie will have male genitalia.
