^^^ This is such a Twin Flame quote it shows Damon takes Elena beyond what Stefan can offer her. Stefan offers simplicity but Elena one day would no longer need that of course the books unfortunately end at Midnight for us but that's what LJ Smith was showing. That Damon is who Elena is meant to be with. I cannot understand how anyone can read a quote like that and say Damon and Elena are just lust. Yes they have a serious passion between them they're passionately in love with each other.

It honestly baffles me, do they not understand Literature, simple basic English at all. Its right there just read and interpret its not that hard to do but apparently a lot of people are unable to do so.....

^^You forgot the first part of the quote where Damon says "You felt the call of my heart to yours try to deny that.
You don't make references to the heart if your relationship is based on lust. When you talk about the heart your referring to deep love. Again do you see how stupid it makes some people look when they say Damon and Elena are just lust

There are some quotes between child Damon and Elena I'll have to find them but I keep reading crap like Elena only talks to Damon telepathically but not to Child Damon. Have these people read Midnight Book. Elena talks to child Damon quite a number of times in Midnight book when Damon was dying.
Anyway this is all I can remember ATM but I'm sure there is more. But honestly I don't know how anyone can read this and say Damon and Elena are just lust or say Damon loves anyone else other than Elena aka Bonnie. WTF how clearer does it need to get. Bonnie because she's so childish and doesn't listen when and put herself in danger and Damon is not some heartless bastard he does care for her so of course he'll try to save her he surely didn't think he'll meet his death in the process. I can't even begin to tell you how much book Bonnie is on my most hated list because she is the reason Damon is dead. If she would of stayed quiet and not worry about the star ball Damon would still be alive. Well he's alive just not in their world. But yes Damon has love once only once he said that on his last breath how can anyone deny that is beyond me.

If he likes Bonnie so much, tell me why he doesn't tell her he wants her by his side, why he doesn't tell her he's in love with her, why doesn't he kiss her passionately like he does with Elena?
If Damon really loves Bonnie, why would he hurt her by rubbing his love for Elena in her face constantly, when he was alive and again when he's dying? He told Elena he only loved once, and I think this was right in front of Bonnie. He reached over Bonnie to hold Elena's hand when he thinks he has his last breath, not Bonnie's. He didn't hold both girls' hands or Bonnie's, he made the choice to share his last moments on Earth dedicating them to Elena. He said Elena's love made his life mean something, not Bonnie's and the only thing he said to Bonnie in the end was that he was sorry for being mean to her and if she can forgive him.
I mean, the fact that Damon was mean to Bonnie in the first place, doesn't that say a lot? In the earlier books, he describes her as being too cheery for him, too childish and he said that Elena never annoys him like Bonnie does with her antics. I put the exact in the article, he says this exact thing in Shadow Souls! "It was difficult for anyone to stay annoyed at Elena. You couldn’t say she was too exuberant, like Bonnie or too serene, like Meredith." And then he goes on the say that he needs to save 3 girls, ONE OF THEM, ELENA, is his jewel of humanity.
I mean, for real. He didn't even want Bonnie to come along with him and Elena to the Dark Dimension in Shadow Souls because he felt she couldn't handle it and that Elena could. Damon to Elena: “You’re probably taking them to their deaths, you know. You, I could probably protect. But you and Stefan, and your two little teenage girlfriends…I can’t.” Wow, he doesn't even call Bonnie by name, how special. He calls her Elena's little teenage girlfriend. And what's really ironic, is he was right! Bonnie goes to the Dark Dimension in Midnight, and he has to save her because she isn't capable of doing it on her own like he felt Elena was.
I'm sorry but Damon may think Bonnie is cute and amusing, at times (not even all the time) but he is head over heels for Elena and he doesn't even care if Bonnie sees it or is hurt by it. On the other hand, Damon and Bonnie's "relationship" (quote end quote!) is so subtle and miniscule, it doesn't even register to Elena. Damon would NEVER wave anything around with Bonnie in front of Elena. It's only when Elena is not around, that he does anything with Bonnie, whether it be because Elena is dead or in another dimension. I think this speaks volumes. If this was a play, Elena would be Damon's leading lady, and Bonnie would be the alternate.

^^^^ Yes so its what the author has written. People honestly look really silly denying what the author has in fact written.
There are many other quotes in the books that shows Damon and Elena's deep love a love so when I find them I'll post it.
Im not gonna bash or anything, but from what I understand, some book-DB fans reason for Damon not saying that he did in fact love Bonnie was becuz he hadnt realized his deep-hidden love for her. Um, theres a few problems with that logic. First, wouldnt have Elena seen any of that in his soul/chained boy & his mind? Wouldnt he have admitted his true feelings if he were to die? His long-unspoken love for Elena finally came out into the open & now supposedly hes lying when hes dying?!
Now, another thing that some say is that LJ saying that Damon would grow to love Bonnie in The Hunters Trilogy if she had written it doesnt mean too much, even if he did get jealous or not. His feelings for Bonnie may grow to love, but true/pure/unspoken love? I just dont c it after Midnight. Id think that wed have been cheated out of what was said in the Original Series & The Return Trilogy. Its not just me wanting to c anything past Delena either. Its whats printed as plain as day in all of the books, stating Damons undying, passionate, & eventual selfless love for Elena to his last breath. JMO.
I also think Elena seeing Damon with Bonnie would get her ass in gear to dump Stefan and claim her true love! Hehe.
