Stelena/Bamon fans are (mostly)quiet when no scenes occur between our two favourite people, but when a scene happens that threatens their precious SE or BD the guns come out! Oh my god. There are still people saying Elena is turning into another Katherine. This bugs me to no end! I was on the spot for the show and someone made a wall post saying how awesome Elena was this episode (which I agree with), saying she's one of the best heroines in a vampire story since Buffy. Someone commented, who I've seen sometimes say anti-DE and pro-SE stuff in other places (not Queen Bee), that the only reason she thinks Elena got all tough and pro active was for Delena to happen on the show. She continued that she didn't have a problem with her until now. Granted, everyone has the right to their opinions, but seriously?! I always liked Elena before but I loved her fighting spirit in 3x06. She is one of the few heroines in vampire stories that is willing to fight and defend herself despite the odds. Why would you be against her for wanting to protect herself and get stronger? Oh right, because she's not pining for Stefan in the process. And I'm so done with this 'her becoming like Katherine' crap. Like Caroline said in 3x04, it's HUMAN and normal for a person to develop feelings for different people. Katherine never cared for her lovers (with the exception of Stefan) and simply played them along. Elena sincerely cares for Damon.

And then there's the Bonnie praise. Someone else put up a post about how Bonnie apparently saved the town in 3x06 by stopping Vicki. Another person was saying how she's the real hero and how apparently the rest of the group would be doomed without her. Lol! I mean, I do like Bonnie and she's a huge help to everyone, but they're acting like she's the main asset that they can't live without! I actually laughed when I saw that.

I would actually say that superimposing an image of Kat's face onto Nina's body is an insult to Kat Graham and Nina.

It's true that Bamon/SE fans (not all of them, just some), just say things like the stuff above out of bitterness and envy. Whenever we get a big scene, they inevitably feel threatened and resort to making malicious comments. So the bigger the scene, the more threatened and malicious they are. Everyone knows that if it were BONNIE instead of Elena in the training scene, the entire Bamon fanbase would have been euphoric. They would have changed their icon. They would have changed their banner. They would have changed their motto. They would be posting manips of a bride and groom with Kat and Ian's faces on them, and fanpicks like 'What wedding dress should Bonnie wear? (Link to pics in comments)'. (I'm not being snarky here, I KNOW that's what they'd do.)
They say it's abuse whenever Elena responds to Damon in a way they don't like. But like I said, substitute Bonnie for Elena, and it wouldn't be abuse then. They're just desperate and out of things to say. When DE properly kiss for the first time, Bamon fans will say that it's abuse too. You can see the funny side of it, but I feel kind of sorry for them to be honest. They act so hard like they're one step closer to knocking DE off their TVD throne whenever Bamon get one crummy scene, and they have to big it up to make it look like Bamon are becoming a reality by saying stuff like: 'Bonnie texted Damon! Now I KNOW how much she cares!!' or 'Damon is SO falling in love with her! You can tell by the way he said the word 'Bonnie'.' (I'm not being sarcastic, btw, this is the way they react.) They have to content themselves with whatever crumbs the writers drop for them, whereas we get delicious three-course meals served to us regularly. They're to be pitied, really.

It truly annoys me because without the Bamon fanbase I think I would actually enjoy Bonnie/Damon scenes. Not romantic but some friendish interaction like he sometimes has with Caroline. But whenever they come on the screen or stand in the same room, I roll my eyes knowing that Bamon fans will whip it up into some huge moment.

@NateHeartSerena, I know what you mean. Before I joined fanpop, I didn't know 'Bamon' existed. I was on YouTube one day, looking for more DE clips/vids, and I happened to click on a link to a CW webclip for 1x09. It featured a clip of Damon threatening Bonnie (I think it was about the crystal). And the comments that accompanied this clip astounded me. Who were all these people, going nuts over a scene that wasn't romantic or friendly or had any romantic chemistry whatsoever? One person even said 'Look at how many views this clip has got' to validate the reasons for Bamon being together. I felt queasy. In the first place, it was a webclip, and just because it gets a lot of views, it doesn't mean everyone who watches it are all in favour of Bamon. I know I wasn't. So that really really put me off Bamon. I'd never considered them compatible together, and not just because of my love for DE. What little scenes they had weren't conducive to a romance, in my opinion. So it was really shocking and somewhat stomach-churning to discover that they even had a following. It didn't make sense to me when they weren't even friends. I don't know if it's because of the books, but Bamon have always had this exaggerated, almost unreasonable level of hype that has surrounded them, even when they, and the scenes they've had together haven't justified it. After 2x10 aired, I saw an upload entitled 'Damon and Bonnie scenes'. I hadn't watched the episode yet, and out of curiosity, I clicked on it. It was almost laughable that it was called 'Damon and Bonnie' because it could also have been called 'Damon, Stefan and Jeremy Watch Bonnie Perfom A Spell'. I think they maybe exchanged about 2 sentences during the whole scene. But once again, most of the comments were completely over the top, it was embarrassing. They are so desperate, over-emphasising the tiniest thing. Fair enough if you like Bamon, but can't you enjoy it for what it is, instead of reconstructing their scenes as a prequel to a romantic epic?

When Bamon fans talk about how awesome DB is and how Bonnie should keep Damon in check, either with headaches or fire, all I can see in my head is this:

Bonnie (wearing latex): "You have been a really bad boy, Damon"
Damon (also wearing latex): "I know!"
Bonnie: You deserve punishment.
Damon: "Yes, mistress, yes! Punish me!"
Bonnie hits Damon with a lash.
Damon: "Harder, mistress!"

I get the whole 'love conquers all' thing that was going on with him and Elena in that episode but come on. That and Klaus is one of my favorites so when Stefan was shouting and trying to resist, I was all, "Oh no you didn't." Lol.
