David is way better than Matt. David was born to be the Doctor! He's right up there with Tom Baker.

Let's face it. David was an AWESOME doctor and after 4 years people haven't got bored of him and they still want to see him on the big screen. Yes he was ONE of the best. But Matt has something about him that makes him a doctor. He looks more alien like than david and is younger which goes well with him regenerating.

I think Matt is better by far :)

There is absolutely no comparison between David and Matt. Matt has nothing, absolutely nothing on David. David covers the whole emotional spectrum, while Matt just wavers somewhere in the middle. And this isn't even starting on the looks department.

I do prefer Tennant to Smith, yes. But even so, both do pale in comparison to Tom Baker. I was shown Baker's version of Who at a very young age, and I'm afraid he'll always be my favourite.
Mind, Tennant is my second favourite.

I will always like David more than Matt only because I was a fan of Davids before Matt. But, I think that Matt is a brilliant actor like David and I love them both with equal amounts!!!

im missing david tennant as the doctor a lot :( but matt seems alright, better that expected accually, david is still the best but you never know matt could change my mind and everybody elses, he seems pretty good to me.

David, will always be my Doctor. But I really liked Matt as the Doctor, I can't to see more episodes of him ;)

I can't completely judge yet because we haven't seen much of Smith. But with that being said I feel that Tennant was a much more dynamic Doctor. He showed every angle of the Doctors life in very full and rich ways. That is why Ten is still my one and only Doctor

David Tennant is my favourite actor so of course! I suppose nobody in the 'David Tennant fan club' has gave Matt Smith a chance yet but i still love David and really wish he hadnt left.

It's Amy pond which makes me not like Matt Smith, and because he's not David.

I like David Tennant WAY WAY WAY more than Matt Smith. I mean, he seems alright, but I don't think he has what David has, you know. I mean, with David, it was like there was a heap more emotion in the episodes I think. And I don't reckon Matt Smith could make me cry like David did when he regenerated :(

In regards to both actor's portrayal of the Doctor, I do like David Tennant better. I feel like David brought more personality and charisma to the Doctor than Matt Smith has, but I have hopes for him. In regards to the actors themselves.. Yeah I still like David better :)

I do but it doesn't mean I don't think Matt Smith is great. He definitely deserves to be in David Tennant's (awesome chuck taylor) shoes. But David is amazing. It's pretty hard to top him. The bow tie and the elbow patch tweed suits help Matt Smith, but David's still better.

David is my favourite Doctor!! He was just so unexpected and lively after Christopher Eccleston, I fell in love with him straight away!! :)

I was disappointed when I heard he was leaving, and resented Matt Smith. I wasn't even going to watch the new series!
But I decided I would watch it because I thought I should give Matt Smith a chance. I'm glad I did, because I really like it!! In fact, Matt Smith has now progressed to be my second favourite!! :D

David was a way better Matt smith cant play the doctor very well and David was funnier. the new episodes with Matt in them are kind of boring compared to the really good ones that David was in but Matt might get better as the season goes it would be hard to top David as th doctor

David, move over. A new doctor is in the house! I like Matt better, because David was to... human. Matt has the alien like aura to him, and he's a youthful, bright, bubble soul. Matt is more alien, and he seems better company and not as self centered. He's clumsy and funny, and that makes him better. I do love David though, he's great. He'd be my second fave.

I truly believe that DT was the better actor of the doctor but MS fits the part better being kind of like a funky weird guy. But still DT is a much better actor and puts a lot more emotion in to his work than Matt does.

No, actually I like Matt better, which is a testament to his character, because I didn't believe anyone could live up to David. He was Brilliant!

It must be said that the new series of Doctor Who with Matt Smith is really good and Matt Smith is definitely bonkers enough for the Doctor's role.
However there is absolutely no comparison David Tennant is and will always be the best Doctor!
David has the looks, he's smart, he's sexy and he is such an amazing actor! Any doubters of this my advice is to re-watch Doctor Who with David Tennant (Especially series 2 and 4)
and any doubters of the diverse acting ability that David possesses watch Single Father, United, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Rex Is Not Your Lawyer and Hamlet and try and tell me those selections and his acting in those performances weren't diverse!
I saw him and Catherine in Much Ado About Nothing recently, not a disappointment, I cried with laughter and cried at the sad parts too! They were incredible!!!!!

Neither! I actually don't care for either one. Tom Baker is the best and definitive Doctor(knowledgeable Who fans know this). Plus, besides Baker, I think Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton, and Sylvester McCoy were all better than Tennant and Smith too. Please watch the golden years from the Classic series. It blows away the modern series...which is a visual soap opera that has been dumbed down for a preteen girl audience.

I have nothing against Matt Smith, however I believe that as the Doctor David Tennant was better because he had more of a character.

I stopped watching Doctor Who when David Tennant left but I have seen a few episodes more recently and decided Matt Smith isn't so bad after all although I do still prefer David if I'm honest

I like both, actually. I can never bring myself to decide.
I also like Christopher as The Doctor.
And since some person above there won't stop yapping about Tom Baker...yes, I like Tom Baker as The Doctor too, he did a marvelous performance.
I think that all of the actors that have played The Doctor over the years had something of their own to add to the character. Most people seem to prefer the modern ones (Matt and David that is) and I can't blame them. A lot of people haven't seen the old series (I didn't see all of it myself, I've only seen random episodes, one or two of each of the old seasons) and who's got time to watch all 800 of them, anyway? I surely don't. Not that I don't want to, but I really don't have all this time to watch it (I might need a Tardis to be able to do that...).
I guess people will just stick with favoring the new ones, eh?

David Tennant will always be my Doctor. He is, in my opinion, the best! I like Matt and I have nothing against him but I can't compare him to DT at all!

David Tennant's way of acting is full of life! Full of emotion and you really get attached to the character. David beats Matt Smith in every episode besides even when the episode was not good at least David's exceptional acting skills made me want to watch it. But with Matt Smith I feel nothing and the episodes make no sense and seem crazy and out of the blue. Besides the fact that david is 10x hotter then Matt!!!

David tennant was awesome as the doctor. Now watching season 5 seems like a rehashed version with matt smith..
