In the late 1400s (1482 to be precise) a young woman named Belle becomes a maid and personal assistant to the much older Judge Claude Frollo. Frollo finds himself attracted to her angelic voice, as well as her kind nature and soon an unconventional romance develops.


But this is France in a time when such things are frowned upon.


Belle's best friends Aurora and Ariel can't help thinking there's something strangely unnatural about Belle's relationship with an older man (with Ariel pointing out "He'll probably die way before you will") although they should talk. With Aurora falling in love with a young female Chinese newcomer named Mulan and Ariel becoming obsessed with a sea captain with only one hand named Hook, to the point of obsession, their love stories too are complex.


However, Frollo isn't the only one who has fallen for Belle, it seems. Young Captain John Smith has decided that she would make an ideal wife and he doesn't like to take "no" for an answer! Arming himself with a wicked troupe led by the infamous Peter Pan, he's about to shake things up for Belle.


Whilst, in the meantime, Frollo has trouble with an old enemy, Lady Tremaine.


Sometimes love can be hell!
