Belle felt herself blushing. “Yes,” she admitted. After being just friends with Adam for so long, in spite of her growing feelings for him, she still felt a tingling of excitement when she remembered that they were now an official couple. “His name’s Adam.” She felt the need to explain to the newcomer. “We didn’t used to get along very well, but then, after a couple of incidents, we became friends and then fell in love. He asked me out at our school dance.”

Fun and laughter at the beach today, I can tell you! While we were swimming in the sea, this monster wave came along and knocked David and Nani off their surfboards and the rest of us onto the beach. I had my hair all in my face and seaweed in it too. Of course, everyone laughed, and then I threw the seaweed at David and he pushed me in. Nani berated him for it, of course. “A gentleman wouldn’t push a lady in,” she said, and then she started splashing him until he apologised. It was ok, though. I know it’s just David’s jokey way; he’s always like that.

Last night I had the funniest dream. Me and Shang were at the beach and Shang was surfing. Seriously, Shang, near a surfboard? Nani, yes, Ariel maybe, but not Shang. He says he hates it and he’s more content to swim “like a normal person” as he puts it in that arrogant tone he sometimes adopts. Honestly, just because his dad’s an army captain, he thinks he can do what he damn well likes! He is so frustrating!
