FIRST, I would like to congratulate ppgbelle4 for being January's fan of the month! :D She really deserves it, with all the wonderful contributions she's made :) *cues round of applause*
1. How does it feel to be Disney Princess fan of the month?
I am going to be honest: I didn't expect to be voted as FOTM. ROFL Honestly. I haven't been on as most people here, so I was shocked. I thought tiffany88 was going to win with how much she contributes with all of her desktop wallpapers. ...So yeah, I was like :O, and still like :O. XD However, I appreciate those who did vote for me.
2. How did you discover Fanpop?
Haha, actually, I lurked invisibly on this site during the summer. I was REALLY big with reading articles, still am. I explored and read things on the site, and it made me really want to join. So, here we are!
3. Who is your favorite princess and why? Your least favorite?
My favorite is Belle. There has been a period of time in my teens where I was not obsessed with the DP's at all, and one day I just decided to sit down and watched all of the movies. Belle just won over my heart. (although, now Ariel may snag the #1 spot; it's a mental battle going on here.) I love how relatable she is with being the odd one out, very bright, enjoying to read and daydream, and I especially love how original her personality and goals are compared to the other princesses. While the other princesses are looking for love, Belle on the other hand wants a different and more exciting life instead of marrying well (because that is what women did at her time). She was never interested in love in the first place, and she ends up stumbling into it. I love that. She also changes from a girl who is snobby and very judgmental to a kind, loving woman with an open mind.
My least favorite is Rapunzel. Just...*sighs* I personally find her too perfect, cutesy perfect :S and it gets on my nerves. I can't really relate to her because she doesn't work for her goals, she doesn't go through any obstacles and overcomes them. Rather, they are solved for her by someone else. It's not that Rapunzel is a bad character, not at all, but the fact that she doesn't grow and change as a character throughout her movie irks me, a lot. She stays the same throughout. (Same with Aurora, but at least Aurora was sly, something we haven't seen with a princess before her. With Punz, nothing is new.)
4. Who's your favorite Disney heroine who's not a DP?
Meg. *is shot by fhghu* D: ...But yeah, I have fallen in love with Meg when watching Hercules. I love how flawed she is as a character, being at the wrong place at the wrong time. She's also not your typical, sweet and gentle heroine. To me she is just a breath of fresh air. :) Besides, she reminds me of princesslullaby, one of my best friends on here. :D
5. What is your favorite princess movie and why? Your least favorite?
BatB, by far. I love how complex it is as a whole. The music is gorgeous. The characters are more developed, ESPECIALLY Beast. The art is beautiful too. I love the different themes in the movie too that makes it all the more complex, such as the Beast beginning on all fours and animalistic, unclothed, then gradually goes to two legs and is dressed and refined, yet Gaston changes from a sophisticated man to a barbarian; the two switch roles from villain to hero and hero to villain. It intrigues me. XD
My least favorite is PatF. Visually, I think it is lovely. However, the writing needs some work. There are too many plot holes, and some characters need to be tweaked and developed more. I mean, it is not the worst movie known to man, but there are so many problems with, making its structure not very sound.
6. What are your favorite Disney princess songs?
Hmm... "One Song", A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes", "Part of Your World" (along with the reprise), "Under the Sea", "Belle" (along with the reprise), "Be Our Guest", "Beauty and the Beast", "One Jump" (reprise), "Prince Ali", "Just Around the Riverbend", "Colors of the Wind", "Savages" (part 2), "I'll Make A Man Out of You", "Almost There", and Healing Incantation". ...Phew! ...To put it simply, many of them. XD
7. Who's your favorite Disney Prince?
BEAST. Beast. Is. The. Shit. He is so three-dimensional for a Disney character. I love the growth he goes through and the changes he makes, from a wild animal to a refined man. He is one of my most favorite male animated characters of all time. :)
8. What is your favorite ending scene from a princess movie?
Oh my gosh, The Little Mermaid. It makes me cry. You see, because of my CP, I have to work hard with everything I do, with studying, physical and speech along with occupational for my walking, talking and learning...the doctors seriously thought I was either mentally retarded, autistic, or both, but I proved them wrong. I have been fighting ever since I was born.
It touches me so much because Ariel is at her low point at first, and all seems so lost. Then when she learns about Ursula, despite things looking shitty and not good for her, she STILL keeps on fighting. She never gives up, and she goes to fight for her dream, to be with Eric. In the end, when she comes out of the water smiling, I just bawl crying, because Ariel is proof to me that determination is all you really need in order to succeed in life. Ariel is one of the motivators of who I am today, and I can't ever thank her enough for that.
9. Which princess do you think has the best wardrobe?
Hmm...Tiana or Belle. Neither of them have bad outfits. Aurora's wardrobe is good too, despite being incredibly simple.
10. Now put which DP you think is the best in these categories:
Most Beautiful DP- Pocahontas
Smartest DP- Jasmine
Bravest DP - Mulan (although Ariel and Pocahontas are tied for second)
Most Helpful DP- Umm... I guess Pocahontas, because how much she teaches John. It depends what you mean by helpful.
Kindest DP- Cinderella
Gentlest DP- Cinderella
Most Childish DP- Rapunzel
Most Realistic DP- Ariel (she is easily the most flawed)
11. Which princess has the personality most similar to yours?
I am sort of a mix of Belle and Mulan, but if I had to pick, I would have to say Mulan.
12. If could spend one day with your favorite princess in her world, what would the two of you do?
THAT WOULD BE SWEET! :D *coughcough* Anyway, we would probably walk around her town and read all day. XD
13. Which Princess do you most aspire to be like and why?
Ariel and Mulan. I want to be as tough and strong like Mulan, but I want to have Ariel's determination.
14. What is your fondest princess-related memory?
I know this is the weirdest memory ever, but I remember at my old house, in our backyard, there was this line of bushes behind the backyard, behind the back yard but in front of the outhouse...and what I did when I was little was go into my Snow White costume (you know, with the iconic dress) and just run through the bushes screaming, reacting the woods scene. ROFL
15. What do other people think of your passion/obsession for Disney Princesses?
Honestly, not a lot of people know about it; just my mom and my best friend. They are cool with it, but I tend to try to keep it a secret.
16. Has your favorite princess ever changed?
Yes, actually. :) When I was a toddler, I loved Snow White. My brother and I would always act the story along with the movie on. As a kid, I liked Cinderella, until I hit my teens. I didn't get interested in the DPs again until I was 17, and my favorite DP has been Belle ever since.
17. Who are you most close to on this spot?
fhghu and princesslullaby. Haha, they are like my best friends, but I think I get along with pretty much everyone.
