Well, this article is VERY overdue by now...I've written my favorite princess article when I first joined, but not this one. So yes, time to fix that once and for all! I actually like all of the princes listed here, and they were very hard to rank. Anyway, enjoy reading! Thank you, CuteDiana, for making the pictures!

10. Charming

Okay, okay. I know this is a typical placement for him, but I just feel neutral about him. I can't use the excuse for lack of screen time, because, well...you'll see why later. I also can't say he lacks a personality, because he does have a personality. When he rolls his eyes at Anastasia and Drizella, I just laugh my ass off every time and then rewind to watch the part again. In fact, that one part has to be my favorite part of the *whole* movie. No joke. He is also awesome in the third movie and is pretty funny. I even LIKE how much of a lazy guy he is. I find it funny how he goes, "No wait! Please!" and then pretty much is like, "Oh hai guards, I am just going to send you guys after her while I go get my massage. LOL U MAD? *troll face*" lol But seriously, he doesn't interest me very much.

9. Phillip

Phillip...he is also pretty low because, really, he is not that interesting to me. True, he is a step-up from Charming because he actually rescues Aurora. Really, he goes through SO much stuff for her, and he has a sense of humor too, seen when he interacts with his horse, Samson, and when he tells his father "It's the 14th century!" and picks him up while dancing. He is also SO HOT when he struggles in the dungeon scene. Just...mmm...it is the only scene where he shows real emotion, anyway, so that is why he only appears really attractive to me in it. But honestly, I feel like considering all of the screen time he's had, Phillip is still rather flat as a character to me. Granted, he is not a bad one, but I wish there was more added to him in order to spice him up a little. He just seems really generic to me; I don't understand why he has so many fangirls. Ah, well, to each their own.

8. Flynn Rider

Okay, here's the thing. I love Flynn in the first half when he is cocky and, well, Flynn Rider. Although his personality is not the most unique to me, he still made me laugh really hard with several of his lines, such as, "A horrible decision, really. -_-" I know it is weird, but he has this kind of badass appeal. Not misunderstood like Aladdin or the Beast, just badass. It's just when Rapunzel and he are about to drown when things start to take a turn for the worse. I know he comforts her because they thought they were going to die, but then after that, it's like his cockiness left him immediately. Sure, we see it a little bit here and there when he stole some of the apples and told Maximus, and at the end when he hides the tiara from her. It's not that I dislike the "Eugene" part of him, exactly; he just turned a 180 WAY too fast, and the "Flynn" part of him was mostly abandoned. Without the "Flynn" part of him, he is not as fun of a character to me.

7. Naveen

Now we are getting to the princes that I like as opposed to feeling neutral. I do like Naveen, but not in a fangirlish way. For me the best part about him is his looks, no joke, but I also really like his personality too because of how unique it is compared to the other princes. Before Naveen, we never really had a playboy prince before. I just love how much of a playboy he is in the beginning; it is refreshing to me. Also, the reason why he is a place above Flynn is because he changes gradually throughout the movie; he suddenly doesn't turn 180 degrees and suddenly become nice. While he goes on his adventure with Tiana, he gradually falls for her for her personality and sacrifices his wishes for Tiana, which really admires me, a LOT. I guess the only negative thing about Naveen which puts him lower is mainly nostalgia, and his feats are not as great. I never really get a "Wow!" moment with him. Still, Naveen is really fun to watch.

6. Aladdin

I have a love-hate relationship with Aladdin. Sometimes I really like him, and other times he just annoys the heck of me because of things he does. I do like how realistic he is as a character; how insecure he is of being a street rat, or how he makes mistakes and tries to fix them. For that, I really do admire him. However, some of his actions and shallow behavior really do annoy me. Granted, he's eighteen, but still. The real reason why he is this low for me is simple: his honesty. For me, one of the worst things to ever do is be dishonest to someone. It's always been a HUGE pet peeve of mine whenever someone lies to someone else and keeps going on about it. So, when Aladdin keeps lying to Jasmine even AFTER she busted him, it really pisses me off a lot. So yeah, you can now see that whenever he lies, I just grit my teeth over and over and over. Point aside, it is entertaining to watch his growth throughout the movie. Now only if it stayed that way throughout the sequels...but that is another story.

5. John Smith

Whenever I watch watch John Smith, something just draws me to him. Maybe it is how calm and patient he is, or how laid back he is. Whatever the heck it is, it certainly works out in his favor. People may say that he is a boring character by himself, kind of similar to Pocahontas' situation, but I honestly disagree with them. I love how he genuinely cares for Pocahontas and how selfless he is. i also love how he is conflicted with trying to be loyal to the other colonists, yet also loyal to Pocahontas. He's a man who has blood on his hands and has made mistakes in the past, and he struggles to find what he really stands for. The only reason why he is not high as the others is simply because of loving the others more. However, I can safely say that John Smith is one of the princes I really admire the most.

4. Prince

I know he doesn't appear for a very long period of time in the movie, but goddammit I love this guy! Every time he appears on the screen, I just grin. His voice is gorgeous, singing and speaking. I love how good natured and goofy he is to Snow White; when he climbs over the wall grinning and like, "OH HAI SNOW! :D", I just melt. And when he sings to her from the steps, I find it so sweet... <3 I also love how devoted he is to finding Snow White. He spent days and days just looking for her, and he didn't give any of his attention to any other girl. Seriously, if he was like this in the actual movie, he would be so full of win and he would be close to being my favorite prince:

In other words: He is so freaking awesome. Do not question this.

3. Eric

Oh gosh... *stares at picture* <3 Eric is really so handsome inside and out, and that is why I love him so much. I am not trying to be biased and love him just for his looks; I love him for his personality. For those who say he doesn't have a personality at all: bullshit. He is so kind, genuine and sensitive. I would kill to meet a guy like him, really. I also love him for his sense of humor (HAHAHAHAHA! *clears throat* Sorry, Grim. *smiles*). What I love about Eric most of all are two things, one being that he loves Ariel for her, for her bubbly personality. Sure, he fell in love with her voice at first, but he was never attracted to Ariel because of her looks. He loved her for her oddities and curiosity. I also love him because of his faithfulness. No matter how bad the situation seemed at the end with Ursula, he STILL went after her determined not to lose her. To me, that just makes him one of the most amazing guys ever.

2. Shang

Shang is just awesome. I hate how underrated he is in this spot. But really, the reason I love Shang is because of what he does. I know that sounds like a pathetic reason, but everything that he does speaks a lot to me. First off, I love how selfless he is. He sacrifices so much for his country no matter what. When his dad died, he didn't spend any time grieving for his death; he honored his dad with the sword and helmet, then commanded his soldiers to move on. He even is so selfless to the point where he can die; despite having nothing but a pocket knife left, he STILL kept on fighting against Shan Yu. Second, he is NOT boring and a stick in the mud. Shang DOES have a sense of humor; it is just really subtle. For instance, when he is in the tent after his father left and after he was assigned as Captain and he says, ""Leader of China's finest troops- no, the greatest troops of all time!" it shows that he is imaginative and quite funny. He also does this right before training by saying, "Yao! Thank you for volunteering!" It doesn't make sense to me that people complain him of being so stiff when he is the CAPTAIN OF AN ARMY AT WAR. Really, do you expect him to be just dancing around and singing "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story with flowers and in a freaking dress while on duty?! People can DIE, and he needs to be alert in order to lead his men! ...Wow, disturbing mental image... O_o

1. Beast

Those who know me really well should see this coming. lol But yes, I love the Beast. I love him so much because of how interesting and captivating he is throughout the movie. First off, he is so funny when he is being an asshole. (*mutters* "It will be my great pleasure if you joined me for dinner." "No!" "HMMM?!" *arm out*) But besides that, his transformation is just amazing, not just physically, but spiritually as well. He struggles to find the inner balance between his beastly nature and his humanity, and you can tell by how he moves and looks. In the beginning, his humanity is close to gone, and all he wears is a cloak and pants. As the movie progresses, he wears more clothing and starts to walk on two feet, then ends with the ball scene walking straight up and dignified. It is amazing because in the beginning, he is seen to be the villain, but then later emerges as the hero with a heart of gold (while Gaston goes the opposite direction, with first being seen as the hero and dignified, then by the end as primitive, wild and aggressive.). And yes, in my eyes, he is the real hero of this movie, because while Belle does save his life and he does that in return, he is the one who makes the spiritual growth and journey; Belle was just the trigger to start that change. I love Beast the most for his strength and courage for making that journey, because emotional obstacles are much harder than physical ones.

I want to make it clear- I LOVE THE MOVIE ALADDIN, I love every character in it- except Aladdin. And finally, i'll tell you why.
I didn't really organize this well because I couldn't figure this out.

Main issues- Aladdin's sexist/classicism assumptions, and Jasmine's hypocrisy

Scenario: Aladdin sees Jasmine in the marketplace, falls for her, brings her back to his poor-boy hut, and together they have a heart to heart about how they feel trapped by their situations. Although Jasmine doesn't explicitly state that she is a princess, she does hint that it's not an enjoyable life. "Oh sure,...

Accidental Discrimination?
Accidental Discrimination?
Okay, so the more I think about this, the more it starts to bother me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any Disney Princesses having green eyes. What's up with that?!

Snow White: brown
Cinderella: blue
Aurora: blue
Ariel: blue
Belle: brown
Jasmine: brown
Pocahontas: brown
Mulan: brown
I think Tiana's eyes are brown too.

Even the majority of Disney's other leading ladies don't have jade-coloured peepers. I'm pretty sure Tarzan's Jane has blue eyes, as does Giselle in Enchanted. So do Alice (in Wonderland) and Peter Pan's Wendy! I can't really tell what colour Megara's eyes are in Hercules (blue...

Please Note: This is a mature subject matter. If you're uncomfortable feel free not to read.

This is my first time writing an article on Fanpop as well as on the topic of Disney but I have in fact written comprehensive articles about the place sexuality holds in American society so I at least can claim to know my facts fairly well. This is a break down on movie by movie basis exploring the sexual tones, or what I can pull since these are really films for kids, of not only the princess but also the prince as well as a few characters on the side. Let's go in chronological order!

Snow White and...

Okay I'm trying to make a complete list of all Disney Princesses. To make this list the Disney girl must be either born royalty or she marries royalty. (So while Mulan is awesome, she doesn't make the cut) This is to include all princesses not just leading ladies.
If you see one is not on the list please comment.

Born Royalty
-Adella (King Triton's Daughter)
-Alana (King Triton's Daughter)
-Andrina (King Triton's Daughter)
-Aquata (King Triton's Daughter)
-Ariel
-Arista (King Triton's Daughter)
-Atta (A Bug's Life)
-Attina (King Triton's Daughter)
-Aurora
-Dot (A Bug's Life)

This film tells the story of a sixteen year old mermaid Ariel who is dissatisfied greatly with her life under the sea. She's the perfect Ariel! (ESPECIALLY in personality)
She's the perfect Ariel! (ESPECIALLY in personality)
Since I've been a fan of this club, I never had been keen on Ariel even though she has a magical movie and she's the only mermaid in the lore. However, The live version of the cartoon that came out in September, 2023 changed everything. But also, keep in mind that I changed and my opinions also have. I have to make up a new list of my fav princesses because god- ITS ALL MIXED UP AGAIN! Also, I remember arguing about Ariel's appearance with wavesurf in this club and I told him/her that she was pretty ugly, while my opinions are switched. I love her huge eyes and bright red hair more than ever...
