Belle almost couldn't believe that her Mother was actually considering marrying someone so atrocious. He made Gaston look like Prince Charming for crying out loud. She could barely keep her eyes open so she decided to go to bed. The next morning, she told Adam about all that she had read so far while they ate their breakfast. Afterwards she headed outside to the rose garden to sit in the fresh air and read. As she looked at her Mothers beautiful penmanship, she noticed tear stains on the pages. Her poor Mother. Belle thanked her lucky stars that her Papa never forced her to do anything she didn't want to. "Well, at least Mother got her happy ending..." Belle thought. But how did she meet Belle's Father? He certainly didn't exactly run with the elite upper class crowd in Paris, like her Mother did. Belle couldn't stand it any longer...

Dear Diary,
   Tomorrow is the big day. My wedding day. Most girls would be happy, excited and would have butterflies in their stomachs, but not me. I feel dead inside. Everything about the wedding is perfect. My dress has crystal beads sewn on the bodice, long lace sleeves, and a long train and matching veil. The wedding is even at a huge cathedral. It is a wedding fit for a Princess, and I wish I could run away....

The wedding went off without a hitch. Of course Auguste was completely charming. He stood up during our reception and gave the most heartfelt toast to me. For a minute he almost had me fooled. He stood in front of our family and friends, and started off by reading my favorite poem, Sonnet 145 by William Shakespeare.
Those lips that Love's own hand did make
Breathed forth the sound that said "I hate"
To me that languished for her sake;
But when she saw my woeful state,
Straight in her heart did mercy come,
Chiding that tongue that ever sweet
Was used in giving gentle doom,
And taught it thus anew to greet:
"I hate" she altered with an end,

"I hate" from hate away she threw,
And saved my life, saying "not you."

It shocked me at first that he knew an intimate detail about me, like my favorite poem, but then it dawned on me that he probably asked my Mother. After he read the poem, he went on to say, "Since I was a young boy, I dreamed of growing up to be a man that my family would be proud of, and finding a woman, who was beautiful on the outside, but with just as much beauty on the inside. Everyday since I met Gabrielle, I wake up pinching myself. I can't believe this beautiful Princess is mine, and I get to spend the rest of my life with her. I love you with all my heart my darling. Here's to us and our glorious future". With that he raised his glass and then walked over and passionately kissed me. I admit...in that moment...I felt like I could love him. Even when we got home that evening, he was very sweet. I had prepared myself for him to rip my pretty wedding dress to shreds and rape me, but I was wrong.
 He led me to what was to be our bedroom and it was lit with candles, and there were rose petals on the bed. In the corner, there was a man softly playing a violin. I gave him a concerned look and he kissed my forehead. He told me the man was blind, and he simply hired him to create a more romantic atmosphere. He poured two glasses of champagne. I had already had two glasses at the reception and felt a bit tipsy. For the first time I felt butterflies for this man. Maybe this was going to work out after all. God I hope so. It would make things so much easier. Auguste is a very good looking man. He is very tall, probably six feet, and he has wavy black hair and eyes the color of the sea. He asks me if I want to dance, and so we dance. I am light headed from the champagne so I lose my balance and he catches me and giggles and says "can't hold your alcohol, huh?" and with that he picks me up and twirls me around in his arms. And for the longest time we just stare into each others eyes. He sits down on the bed and takes my hair down, and runs his hands through it. And then he looks so deep into my eyes it felt like he was looking right into my soul, and he whispered "I love you". I couldn't stand it any longer...I took his face into my hands and pulled him close to me and kissed him. And then he made love to me...and it was...perfect.
