Disney Princess Article: Why I Love Snow White

Just a lovely icon of mine to start this article with

I've been explaining a lot of times why she's my favorite princess, but I decided to write an article where I try to explain as good as I can why I love her. Also I saw that other people wrote articles about why they love their favorite princess/other DP Characters so I decided to do it too

I'm not annoyed by her optimism, that's what I love about her

Okay first of all I of course love how optimistic she is, some people finds her too optimistic, but I don't. Sometimes I wish that I could look on the bright side of life like Snow White

It's maybe a little hard to guess that I can relate to her as much as I do

Second I can relate to her a lot, I'm similar to her both look- and personality wise though I would say I'm more similar to her personality wise, when people describes my personality I can't help, but think of Snow White because they describe me in the same way. They usually describes me as optimistic, kind, funny and sweet which is how I would describe Snow White

I've grown to appreciate complex characters in later years

Third she's a much more complex character than people gives her cred for, sure she's a real sweetheart, but she's also bossy, sarcastic and a bit manipulative.

A perfect mother, but also a bit childlike, a perfect combination imo

Fourth I love how she's both a mother (or mature) and a child (or naive) at the same time, the other princesses are just one of these, but Snow White is both.

Only mentions her prince once and doesn't get upset over being seperated from him, that's the best way of handle a seperation at least in comparsion to the other princesses who has a prince

Fifth I love how she handles the seperation from her prince, the other princesses gets upset when they become seperated from their prince (of course I don't count Merida since she ends up single), but she acts as if she didn't really need a prince, she does mention him once.

I love the fact that she doesn't look sure about if she should trust the old hag or not and that the only reason to why she took a bite of the apple was because she didn't want to be rude to the old hag

Lastly I love her because she's smarter than people gives her cred for and I don't think she was stupid for taking a bite of the apple, in the beginning she looked unsure about doing it, she only did it because she didn't want to be rude to the old hag.

PrincessAyeka12 What a sweet little article. Gives us haters a new perspective. I like that. With each article that I read, it reminds me that the reason why Snow White is usually last on my list is because I haven't watched the movie in over ten years. I remember her childlike, domestic & optimism traits but not her bossy, manipulative & sarcastic traits. Anyway I like your article! So sweet. And at some point I will watch the movie again.

sunnyfields I love your points. Snow White was my least favorite princess as a child for aesthetic and not real reasons - I didn't like yellow, short hair, or her singing voice. I also wasn't a fan of the movie (and it still isn't my favorite), but Snow White has moved up to my 3rd favorite princess. I love that she is mature yet naive and optimistic. It is also why I love Pocahontas as my 2nd favorite princess.

Hi guys, since Valentine's Day is coming up after Chinese New Year. I thought that it would be nice for me to write this article since I have loads of great love songs on my iPod Touch. These are simply based on how much I like/admire/relate to that character, and it's only my opinion, so you don't have to agree with it. :) Let's begin!

12. Aurora

Pretty, yes, but where's the personality?

She doesn't do much at all, and for me to like someone they have to actually DO something. She only gets 18 minutes of screen time in the whole movie, and only 18 lines! She's pretty and graceful and all, but I don't see any real personality or character in her, just a bland princess space-filler.

11. Elsa

I think it's time to let Elsa go.

Honestly I don't know why the world is so obsessed...

Thought this was really the perfect time for this light read considering which months I think each DP represents the best. :D I did this based on personality and my perception of how those personalities relate to the 4 seasons as well as each month. 12. Brave
This is the only DP Movie that I don't like at all, main reason is it lacks nostalgia which the other movies has, but it has beautiful animation, decent characters, good songs and a good story, but the score is unmemorable so it has the potentional of being a better movie than what it actually is

This one really suits Mulan, especially towards the end of the movie, she wants to be seen for who she really is
