The new princecatcher93
I updated again after a movie party link. And now with a new movie out I get to rank it (It will be spoiler free) and I learned to like some other ones more, learned to dislike some, and learned to love others a lot move. I’ll be giving each film a chance to get four stars (my newspaper does four so I go by the half stars) they have nothing to do with the ranking, just how many I would give it, if I wasn’t doing a summary ranking. So here it is my updated ranking (My Favorite Movies changes almost every week so this is just for this week.) Oh something big that will be playing out for me in my ranking in how well it pulls me in, I just learned that I was ADHD, so I can only enjoy the films so far before I have to move onto something else.
12: Mulan
Places it has been ranked in the past six month. 4, 3, 6, 9, 11, 12
Princecatcher93 Plot Twist! You guys did not see that one coming and if you did you must be able to read my mind . I learned to like my lower films a bit more and this one seemed to have lost its magic on me to me. I can’t really sit still and watch is anymore it doesn’t really hold me in as much as I remembered it. The songs and scores are kind of second rate to me and character can only go so far into pulling me into the movie.
Love: The Animation, villain and quote/lines
Likes: Princess, Sidekick, story and score
Dislikes: The Prince, Songs, plot (I like the story but I didn’t like the way the plot made it happen).
Hate: The fact that it was too slow for me to enjoy and that I had to put it down here.
Number of Stars: ***

11: Frozen
Places it has been ranked in the past month. 3, 12 and 11
The Newest movie still so low! I saw it about five times! Three times in theater the other times with that link . Many of you guys know that I said something about the film bugged me, but it finally hit me what was wrong with the film for me. There’s too much going on for me to take it, the movie moves from one thing to the other to quickly for me to have time to take in. The music and the movie didn’t flow in the way that the other films did Either the music was too powerful at times or the scene was so it didn’t really mesh . Anna is so over the place I didn’t get the time to enjoy her, I wish she would calm down so I could take her in as a real person and not as a movie character. Elsa was just right because she was calm and easy for me to take in as person to the point that I could. Hans and Kristoff where okay but not much for me to take in at times. Olaf was weirdly just right for me, he was funny but he stopped when it became too much. There were to many plot holes that the movie just put fruitcakes in, See the Red Green Show, and didn’t take the time to explain things. But the score and animation make up for everything and Sven did also.
Loves: Animation, Sven, Score and The fact that the Dad looked like Walt Disney
Likes: Elsa, other characters and location
Dislike: Anna and songs
Hates: The way the movie moves around too much for me to take in. It was to force at many times for me. I’m taking a break before I see it again.
Number of Stars: **

10: Sleeping Beauty
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10
Sleeping Beauty is a beauty I see what I did there!. The animation, songs and score are amazing. But sadly the movie’s characters aren’t so much and the story can’t keep me in.
Love: Score, Songs and Animation
Like: Characters
Dislike: Story is to slow to keep me in the room for long. I have to leave all the time
Number of Stars: ***

9: Beauty and the Beast
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12
I still don’t like this movie at all. But because I can sit through it long enough to enjoy it, I have to rank it high. The Animation is amazing, the Villain is beautiful and his voice is to die for! The score is also great but after a bit starts sounding like the same score over and over again. Wardrobe (The Character and the Clothes) are in my top 4 favorites. And my grumpy kitty prince is amazing! It’s just the princess, other characters, songs and story I don’t really like.
Love: Animation, Villain and his voice
Likes: Score, Grumpy Kitty Prince, and Wardrobe
Dislikes: Songs, Princess, Other characters and Story
Number of Stars: ***

8: Brave
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 11, 10, 5, 3, 6 and 8
This movie I’m okay with. The animation is amazing! (I just like animation) and I can sit through it and enjoy! It’s just the characters and lack of songs I’m sad about. The story isn’t that strong to me but it makes it up at the end.
Love: Animation
Likes: Characters, score
Dislikes: Songs, story line and middle of the film
Number of Stars: ** and a half

7: Aladdin
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 3, 4, 9, 5, 9 and 7
I feel like I should rank this lower, because this was my childhood film and it is kind of a mess and hard for me to focus with, but it’s my childhood favorite. I love Aladdin and Abu, the animation is okay not like the other films (But the Cave of Wonders? AMAZING!). Jasmine is warming up to me as a princess and may break the all Renaissance bottom 5 and move up to 6 or 7 as my favorite. But the other sidekicks, villain, songs and scores don’t pull me in that well as much as it used to me. So I may be being biased with this ranking.
Loves: Aladdin, Abu and One Jump (And the Reprise)
Likes: Jasmine
Dislikes: Songs, Score, Sidekicks and the fact that it moves around too much for me
Number of Stars: ** and a half

The Top six are all films that could keep me in long enough for me to enjoy, are films that I have learned to love more and have helped me sometime in my life. So From now on its three and a half stars to four stars ratings.

6: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 6, 7, 9, 10, 3 and 6
Disney’s first film may seem slow going and boring to a lot of people. But it’s finally a movie I can watch all the way through without flipping out and watch something else. It has a perfect balance between slow and fast. Everything about this movie is cute…okay everything but the villain is cute. It’s a film that can stay in my head for hours on head before I come onto fanpop and forget everything THANK YOU GUYS! *Said sarcastically*. But sadly because of you guys I can’ enjoy it that much You guys just wreaked Disney for me!
Loves: Animation, Characters, Story, Songs and the Singers
Likes: Scores
Hates: The Villain (She scared me halfway to death as a child!)
Number of Stars: *** and a half!

5: The Little Mermaid
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 11, 10, 9, 6, 8 and 5
Yet another shocker for you guys. I use to hate this movie but after my little sister took away my favorite movie and my Loki Poster (I will do anything for that poster) and told me I couldn’t get them back until I watch it with her (Nice sister isn’t she?)! And I warmed up to it a lot! Sure the characters aren’t my favorite but the animation, songs and score make that up for me. But I don’t know if I can sit through all the way without freaking out because I was in it for Loki. So that’s what keeps it back from the top 4!
Love: Score, Songs, Villain, their singing voice and *Gasp* Ariel
Like: Animation, Other Characters and location.
Dislike: I was in it for Loki so I don’t know if I could sit through it again like that.
Number of Stars: *** and a half

4: Pocahontas
Places it has been ranked in the last six month. 8, 7 and 4
This film doesn’t really move around that much for me. I sadly don’t know why, now that I have seen it again I have to stay its beautiful, easy film for me to sit though. I won’t rank the songs and scores because we all know Disney will never be able to top those two things ever again, I mean the movie could just be the songs and scores and still be amazing. Animation is beautiful! Characters are great to but something to me is missing that my top 3 all have. And that’s magic! I mean besides the talking tree it’s like I’m watching a History Channel show. But everything else gets it this high. I warmed up to Pocahontas too, she won’t get that high but she still okay.
Loves: Animation
Likes: Characters and story
Dislikes: Lack of magic
Hate: The fact that the songs and scores can still make me cry all the time.
Number of Stars: ****

3: Cinderella
Places it has been ranked in the last six months. 3, 6, 7, 4 and 3
The next three films all fit different moods I’m in just right. The Cinderella moods is when I’m down, sad, feeling underappreciate and like nothing is going my way (Which happened a lot with my exfriends). The songs, scores, characters, magic just about everything just fills me with magic and happiness long enough until the next time I feel down with something else. I can’t sit through this film without getting up to get a tissue and cry. But one thing holds it back from beating the top 2. The animation isn’t as amazing as the other two and my cat doesn’t enjoy this film because of the Best Disney Character Ever *Guess in comments*
Loves: Songs, Scores, Characters, Story and the magic
Likes: Animation
Number of Stars: *** and a half

2: The Princess and the Frog
Places is has been ranked in the last six months. 2 and 1
This film has something all the Disney films seemed to be missing ever since Walt’s death. Most Disney films either had Disney Magic or The Walt Disney Touch (Those are two different things and something for a different article). But the Princess and the Frog had both in it and had it all done perfectly. The characters seemed to be like ones Walt would make, the songs seemed to be like Walt’s Characters, and the story also seemed like something he would write. It has it flaws but all the movies do, only thing that makes me love this one is people are willing to see the flaws and don’t close their eyes to them like we do with a lot of the other films. The moods it fits for me is when I’m giving up on something and that I’m almost there! The casting was amazing, my little sister know has a Disney Voice crush on Naveen I’m going to have to end that crush and she wants to sing like Tiana she has a better shot at it then me. That film is almost there for being my favorite if it wasn’t for one thing. The Dark magic. It is banished from my family so I can’t really own it (but I talked my mom into letting me get it for Christmas). I can sit through the whole film and rewatch it over and over again without feeling the need to get up for anything (Besides food and to go potty).
Love: Everything!
Dislike: The Dark Magic
Number of Stars: ****

1: Tangled
Places it has been ranked in the last six month. 1 and 2
This film has everything that the older films have. This film was a perfect 50th film. It took each era and mixed it together to make another hit after my second place film. It mainly has the Disney Magic in it but at times I can feel the Walt Touch not as strong as TPatF or the classic films (Meaning the films Walt Made not the films after his death). The story is simple enough to follow for me, the characters are like many of my favorite Disney characters (And least favorite) only made them better and more enjoyable for me. The songs and score are amazing. The animation is gorgeous. The love story is perfect. The mood it fits for me it the fact that I don’t know when will my life begin (And with fanpop it may never begin). The movie is quotable to me and enjoyable for my whole family. But it has its flaws and the main character is a Mary-Sue (But not as badly as other Mary-Sues of Disney). All-round, I see it as one of Disney’s best and a film Walt Disney would love and feel proud of to have in his lineup.
Love: Everything!
Like: Some of the songs
Number of Stars: ****

So there you have it, my ranking of my favorite movies, hopefully you see my reasons for liking each film and disliking. If not pleas comment and hopefully I can try to explain it a little better to you, without having a hard time. If you agree comment do whatever you want to do! If you disagree, please comment with what you disagree and hopefully we can talk it out without you fangirling or boying and me fangirling against each other and ending our friendships we may or may not have. Hello everybody! I got to thinking about the soundtracks to the DP films the other day and decided to write up a list of my favorites. Music has been a big part of my life, and as a result I have a big soft spot for the DP scores and songs. I find that how good a movie's soundtrack is often has a bigger influence on how much I like the film than it would for most other people. There are definitely some noticeable similarities between my favorite DP soundtracks list and favorite DP movies list, although they aren't exactly the same.

11. Tangled
6th on favorite DP films list

I love Disney music. I love the instrumental scores as well as the jolly show tunes songs. (I'm also a sucker for classical.) So I wanted to share with you guys my personal favorites by score, song and overall. (I included Frozen because I would be shocked if they weren't eventually made a part of the Princess franchise even though they've been out for 2 years now.) I love all of these soundtracks and it's hard to pick so I had to use a mathematical formula based on my favorites to come up with the rankings. I provided pictures for which soundtracks I used. I almost always prefer the songs...

My DP list right now as is, has the following:

Favorite DPs (the most relatable to me, and the less problematic for me to admire)

1. Mulan

Mulan was not looking to become a heroine, because she was clumsy and did not fit the strict norms of her society. She manages to defy her clumsy self, and the narrow societal views of women, by bringing honor to her family, and looking for self-actualization.

2. Ariel

Ariel has to come to terms with the fact that she has an abusive father, who is very narrow-minded, and sets up a bunch of rules to mask his own fears of the unknown. In order to grow as a...

"Oh Flounder, isn't he beautiful?" Ariel said quietly, as she stroked the statues cheek that had been half broken off from the damage it experienced. Flounder looked worriedly at her, and nodded silently. He wasn't in on this whole, "human-mermaid" love story. He knew if Ariel was to dare go through with it, King Triton would have her locked up in the castle until the day she died.
Sebastian squeezed himself in through a small hole in the giant rock, as crabs were known to be able to move about tight areas. He hid behind a pair of binoculars, which Scuttle had named "a Shibbleshpob," and listened...

"Okay, fine," Anna said. Everyone glared at her. "What..." She asked. "Okay princesses and princes bring your weapons!"
