As some of you may know, I recently did my version of a "Prettiest Princess" article which rated the overall attraction of each princess. That article was done with a heavy bias towards what males like best about females so I wanted to make one with the bias towards what females like (in friends). What females look for in friends will of course vary by personality so I decided to use the Disney Princesses as the model for my female scale. I made a ranking list for each of them (of course, it is subject to my opinion of their rankings) and then combined all 13 lists to see how they'd rate each other as a whole. Here are my results:

13. Jasmine: Tends to be a very polarizing character. Most of the princesses don't appreciate her spoiled, arrogant and off-putting attitude but a few of the princesses love it and see her as a strong and brave young woman.

12. Tiana: It's not that she's not very liked but rather that she wouldn't have much time, what with owning a successful business. She is very hard working with a straight forward attitude that not all of the other princesses would appreciate or necessarily understand. A lot of the princesses would see her as working too hard as they tend to see their free time as a higher priority. Aside from that, they respect her genuine caring personality.

11. Merida: While many of the princesses might see her as being a bit uncouth, quite a few will think she just "rocks". She has a strong personality and is a bit immature but she's definitely working on her shortcomings. She is highly energetic and loves to go outdoors and embrace many new activities which makes her a blast to hang out with. The only thing that really keeps her from being higher is her impulsiveness and outspoken personality which some of the princesses might find rude or uncomfortable.

10. Mulan: Neither anyone's absolute favorite or absolute least favorite, Mulan is a very balanced character. She would get along well with everyone as she values duty and choice almost equally. She is mostly respectful and very understanding which makes her an easy person to hang out or talk with, whatever your personality might be.

9. Elsa: In a lot of ways, she is a highly relatable character although not necessarily specifically. Regardless of the reasons why, she knows what it's like to feel trapped, alone, misunderstood and regretful of a mistake. She also knows what it's like to fix a mistake and open herself up to love after being closed up before. In addition, she has a very split personality which also helps her relate to more people. On one hand she is an isolationist who prefers to be alone though holding grace and duty highly, on the other hand she is a slightly looser and more fun and active person. Unfortunately, the inconsistency limits her from being more of a favorite.

8. Aurora: Sweet, soft-spoken, classy, romantic dreamer who can be a highly preferred or rejected cup of tea. While at least half of the princesses would be inspired by her grace and appreciate her pleasant femininity, the other half of the princesses would find her to be boring or "too perfect". They would see her as not having "enough personality" for them. She is quite a polarizing character.

7. Cinderella: Similar to Aurora, half of the princesses would really admire her self-control and respect but the other half of princesses would almost see it as being a "doormat" or "too passive".

TIE 5. Ariel: Interestingly enough, another somewhat polarizing character as the previous two. About half of the princesses see her as flighty, impulsive and even a bit disrespectful or lacking in respect for boundaries. On the other hand, the other princesses see her as a complete ball of fun! She is energetic, curious and open-minded which makes her more appealing to all. She is also very brave and somewhat irrational which has a polarizing effect as well.

TIE 5.Snow White: Too balanced for anyone to pick as their least favorite, Snow has a very relatable personality. While she is very graceful, innocent and feminine on one hand she is also very assertive, confident and motherly on the other hand. She is loyal, appreciative, giving, self-less and sincerely kind. Just as it was hard for the dwarfs to turn her away, so it would be hard for any of the other princesses to turn her away. She knows how to earn her keep and never overdo anything. An incredibly pleasant balance.

4. Belle: The open-minded bookworm who doesn't judge a book by it's cover. She gets along really well with others because she doesn't write them off after one falling out. Instead, she is willing to adapt to others and understand them. She also has an adventurous spirit without the need for danger which makes her a fun character to spend time with. She believes in real love, magic, loyalty, modesty and seeing what the world has to offer which also makes her an eclectic character that everyone can get along with. She can see "something there" in someone that others don't and even bring out the best in that someone. None of the other princesses choose her as a least favorite.

3. Pocahontas: Definitely one of the most balanced characters of all, none of the other princesses find her offensive in any way. She has a strong spirit with a pleasant demeanor that makes everyone feel comfortable. She appreciates nature and finds the beauty in everything. She respects all life and fights to protect it. Who could ever ask for more?

2. Anna: Spunky and energetic yet aspires for sophistication and grace but a bit flighty and impulsive. In a lot of ways, Anna could be just about anyone's little sister as she has a very "younger sister" type personality. She is very optimistic and likes to believe the best in people, even if she has very little to go on. She is rarely ever rude or disrespectful and has a very charming sense of humor. She is witty and playful, none of the other princesses would rank her last.

1. Rapunzel: Often referred to as "the most balanced princess", this statement holds true. Like Anna, she is very innocent and optimistic which leads her to believe the best in others. However, unique to Rapunzel is the fact that she actually does bring out the best in everyone she comes into contact with (except for Mother Gothel apparently). She is the perfect peacemaker and a wonderful candidate for a "princess" in general. Although trapped in a small tower she maximizes her spare time by embracing a variety of activities and hobbies that only serve to further prove her very well rounded character. Her hobbies also reflect this as she bakes, paints, sculpts, makes candles, solves puzzles, read books, etc. Even if she cant exercise her body out in the world the way she would like to, she certainly exercises all of her brain. No wonder she's so well-rounded and balanced.
