In their movie, Aladdin really loves and respects Jasmine.
I have seen that many people on Fanpop dislike Jasmine, or at least don't give her much credit. She happens to be my 2nd favorite princess, and I just love how confident and adventurous she is. Here I will explain why I like her and deliver on some common things said against Jasmine.

Here are my favorite things about Jasmine:

She always stands up for herself. I love Jasmine's style- she always stands up for herself and what she believes in. I don't think she's rude, selfish or unappreciative- how would you feel if you were trapped your whole life and forced to marry a pompous jerk who doesn't care about you? She might not have to clean all day like Cinderella or Snow White, but Jasmine has issues too, and she decided to stand up for herself when she was being treated like property.

She's adventurous. I can relate to this, because, although I love my mid-sized town, I often get bored of it, I long to see the world. Jasmine has it much worse, because she has been stuck in the palace her whole life! She wants to get out and see all there is to see, do all there is to do. Some may argue that she has everything, but she knows that she wants so much more than the riches of royalty.

She's clever. As she said when she was pole vaulting over the roofs of Agrabah with Aladdin, Jasmine is a fast learner and thinker. She also figured out when he was lying to her by asking a smart question, and although it was quite disturbing and nasty, it was pretty clever for her to distract Jafar by seducing him. It's true, and Aladdin even admitted it (It's so cute when he's lovesick over her!)

She wears pants. This is a no-brainer. And who could pull off those harem pants better than Jasmine?

Here are some commonly stated opinions against Jasmine:

"She is so rude to her father/Aladdin/everyone." Like I said before, Jasmine was only standing up for herself after putting up with years of crud. How would you feel if you were in her position? She is just a little more feisty than some of the other princesses.

"She's hypocritical- she said she wasn't a prize to be won, and she let Aladdin treat her like a prize!" This is just my opinion, but I think there's a difference there. When Aladdin tried so hard to get her, it was out of sheer love and respect for Jasmine. When he, the Sultan, and Jafar were fighting over who would marry her, that was not so respectful- each of them were trying to decide Jasmine's fate when obviously that was hers to decide. She had a right to put them in their place!

"Jasmine is stupid for thinking she could just give a little boy an apple without paying for it." Well, she was locked up her whole life, what do you expect? She was just being kind, and that vendor may have overreacted a tad... just saying...

"Jasmine is ungrateful and spoiled." Just because she lived in a palace doesn't make her life amazing. For heaven's sake, she was LOCKED UP in her palace! She had no freedom or real friends, but her heart longed for adventure. Maybe she didn't have to do grueling work all day, and maybe she didn't have any physical problems, but mental health is just as important and her life was just as bad as any other princess'.

I am not saying in any way that Jasmine has no flaws. She does. However, sometimes people degrade her in a way that forgets how cool she really is! (in my humble opinion, of course) Thanks for reading and please comment to tell me what you think!

1. Congratulations on winning Fan of the Month! How do you feel?
I feel super honored, thank you!

2. Who is the most nostalgic Disney Princess for you and why?
This is a hard one — probably the ones I watched most as a kid, so Cinderella, Snow White and Belle.

3. Have you always loved the Disney Princesses?
Yes, I was obsessed with the Disney Princesses as a kid and I’d have to thank Anna and Elsa for bringing me back to Disney.

4. How did you find the Disney Princess spot?
I’d have to thank AudreyFreak for that. For a long time, I was so tired of everyone calling the Disney Princesses (especially...

A little quickie article on how I feel Moana would have been written if it was released pre-revival era. You know, before Disney became so OBSESSED with being subversive and different from their previous films.

Before I get into this, let me just tell y'all something, there's a difference between a cliche and convention. Having a love interest, a fully developed villain or a colorful cast of characters is not "cliche". Those are conventions, in other words, standard things that we've simply come to expect from certain genres of movies.

And if you really want to put some clever twist on these...

PrueFever interviews Fan of the Month avatar_tla_fan for September 2014.
When avatar_tla_fan won Fan of the Month for September, I got the pleasure to do the FotM’s Interview with her. So let’s get to it, people.

1. How does it feel to win Fan of the Month?
Well, it feels great! I was really surprised when I won, I haven't been on the club for that long, only a couple months. But nevertheless, I am still very happy (and surprised) that I won. Thanks to all the people who nominated and/or voted for me. :)

2. It says on your Profile Page that you've been Fanpopping since July 2014. What made you join Fanpop in the first place?
Well, I love reading articles. One day,...

Afew days after the dinner party, Pocahontas, John and Merida all went home. They hated leaving, but at the same time, they were ready to get back. It took a while for Pocahontas and John to get home, but they made it back safely. Luckily, it only took Merida about 3 1/2 days to get back. As soon as she did, she went straight to caring for her mother. The funny thing is, The Queen often urged for her daughter to take breaks and do something she loved like shooting her bow. Pocahontas wanted to help out with her people as much as she could, but she was also urged to take breaks. As for the Li's,...

Starting the countdown to my birthday with my least favorite princess Tiana
Starting the countdown to my birthday with my least favorite princess Tiana
Today it's 13 days left until I turn 20 and there are 13 Disney Princesses so to make it less boring to wait I decided to do a countdown with a help of the Disney Princesses, each day I'll make an icon and a collage of one of the princesses and write a "Why I Love" article of that princess, it'll be in order from my least favorite princess to my favorite princess and on my birthday I'll do a Getting To Know article with a picture of me and you'll decide if I look younger or older than 20 or if I look like 20

Anyway, even though Tiana is my least favorite Disney Princess I still love her

I love...
