9.Mulan
Mulan is a lot of people's favorites. It's claim to fame is it's the first truly kick ass, heroic-equivalent-of-a-prince female character. But other than that, Mulan isn't anything special. It has the first chinese princess, but Mulan wasn't the first minority princess. It didn't help disney in anyway, it's animation wasn't spectacular, and it only has four songs.

"No significant milestone was hit with this film." (princesslullaby)

8.Aladdin
Not much more impressive than Mulan. It's part of Disney's "fearsome foursome", it made a lot of money, and it helped continue the Renaissance. The Genie is often considered Robin William's best role. It also has the first princess to have a different singing and voice actress. It's also the only disney princess movie where the princess isn't the main character. Other than that, no real significant things were sparked by Aladdin.

"Aladdin started the theme of having more well known actors in the films, which continues to today." (hrrypttrfn328)

"I don't see how this movie is important. Sure, it made a lot of money, but other then that nothing pops into mind." (VGFan30)

7.Sleeping Beauty
Disney's 3rd Disney Princess classic, this film was considered a breakthrough in animation for disney. The film holds a notable position in Disney animation as the last Disney feature to use hand-inked cels. It's got different sound system for the times, as well as the wide-screen breakthrough. It has animation drawn like a painting, instead of the usual cartoony style, something new for Disney. But the film itself was only received by critics with mixed reviews, which only allowed it to go so far in the countdown.

"Sleeping beauty was the first princess movie to figure out how to properly animate a prince" (mermaid-tail)

"Sleeping Beauty was the first one shot in widescreen and the first one using classic ballet music and it is known as Disney's greatest artistic achievment" (dweeb)

6.Pocahontas
This film marked a point for Disney as it was the first film to be based off of history, although obviously with this film we have to take that term lightly. And since then, Disney hasn't made any classicly animated films based off actual history, making it the only film Disney has made based off "fact". It was also the first Disney Princess film not to have a happy ending, another first for Disney trying to reach towards a more adult crowd, as seen in the film after Pocahontas, "Hunchback of Notre Dame", which was more successful in that respect. Other than that, the film was only considered mediocre and not all-too-special for Disney.

"[Pocahontas was] the first native American main character in a Disney film. She also challenged racial prejudices, something which had not been done previously in Disney." (straggy)

"This one isn't really a milestone that much... yes, it's the first historical film, but the others have greater/more important milestones." (AllegroGiocoso)

5.The Princess and the Frog
This film marks the return for classic 2D for Disney after a long time. It also has the first African American princess, although personally I don't see why that's such a big deal, seeing as that Jasmine was the first Middle Eastern, Pocahontas the first Native American, and Mulan the first Chinese, and not a whole huge deal was made over them. But a bigger deal is that the financial and critical success of The Princess and the Frog has persuaded Disney to greenlight at least one new hand-drawn animated feature to be released every two years, which certainly will make us all happy!

"PATF is very important, being the first with an African American princess as well as ushering back 2D animation to the studios." (kenzieiscool)

"Tiana is the fisrt black princess is not important to me at all I think people make a lot of fuss about that, yeah she is black so what, jasmine and pocahontas weren't white, mulan is asian, so yeah I son't see whats so great about her being black" (luinwen)

4.Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast gave lots of success for Disney. First, it's the only classicly animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. It is also often considered Disney's Magnum Opus. It is the first film to give a more meaningful relationship between the prince and the princess, instead of the traditional love at first sight. The ballroom scene was another breakthrough in Disney Animation, being completely CGI. However, compared to the following three, Beauty and the Beast loses out.

"As much as I love Beauty and the Beast, it is the least important out of these." (fhghu)

"It was the first animated film to be nominated for Best Film, and it won multiple awards." (firegirl1515)

3.The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is a very important film to the Disney Renaissance era. Disney went back to broadway style music in Oliver & Co, to test it out. They finally used it full-throttle in the Little Mermaid. The film was a huge success and kicked off what is known as Disney's "Renaissance Era." Without the Little Mermaid, we wouldn't have more than half of the other Disney Films. Also without the Little Mermaid, the company would have continued it's slump and likely gone bankrupt. Entertainment Magazine even called it an incredibly important film in animation.
"The Little Mermaid kicked off the Disney Renaissance" (DreamyGal)

"TLM saved Disney from not being able to make animated movies. If it weren't for TLM, there would be no BaTB, Aladdin, Mulan, and so much more iconic movies!" (madisonavanna)

2.Cinderella
This one won by a smidge over the Little Mermaid. Cinderella came out after a line of unsuccesful disney films, and helped saved Disney from bankruptcy. Had Cinderella not been successful, it would have probably caused Disney to fail completely as a company, or at least caused them to have a much smaller budget for their next films. A lot was riding on Cinderella. It's also Walt Disney's favorite disney movie.

"If Cinderella had not been a success, the whole Disney Company might have been out of cash, and thus, The Little Mermaid might have not even existed as a Disney film since the company would have been gone. " (AllegroGiocoso)

" If Cinderella failed, then it's likely that the other movies would not be here " (Mongoose09)

1.Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
It feels almost alien to have Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs win first place, doesn't it? If it hadn't won for this, I think I would personally use my resuscitating powers (I didn't sell my soul for nothing) to bring Walt Disney back to life and have him personally knock the living shit out of you guys. (....Just kidding! The powers I got from selling my soul don't include resuscitation. I suppose I should have thought that through). Anyway, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is THE FILM THAT STARTED IT ALL! Not only was it the first DISNEY movie, it was the first full length animated film ever. Without it, we likely wouldn't have ANY animated films, or at least not until much later, and we certainly wouldn't have any Disney films! SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS DESERVES THIS SPOT AT NUMBER ONE!

"Anyway, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was not only the first full length Disney cartoon, but it was also the first full length cartoon in general, it started EVERYTHING!" (madisonavanna)

"Snow White was groundbreaking at the time it came out...plus it started it all!" (DreamyGal)

6 CALM and CAUTIOUS/SHY

When she notices that she’s not dancing with her animal friends anymore but some stranger who has come up from behind to sing and dance with her - what does she do? Scream? Run? Cry? No. Rather, she calmly tries to get away.

In the four times Aurora removes her hands from Phillip, you’ll see that she is gradually...

1.Congratulations! How does it feel to be Fan of the Month?

It was really unexpected! I was like, "Wow!" when I found out I'd won. But it's really great, it makes me feel appreciated :) Thank you to everyone who voted for me! <3

2. Your favorite Princess and why?

Rapunzel. I know she gets a lot of hate these days, but I still admire her for her very charming personality. She charmed me within the first few seconds of her movie. I also love how bubbly and curious she is, also her determination to see the lanterns. Also, I really enjoy watching her onscreen. She never fails to entertain me....

I held a countdown if who would Snow White liked the most, and to e honest, the results were not suprising at all. Here are the results and what people had to say. This countdown was held before Merida was official, so she is not on here.

9. Jasmine

This was definitely the most obvious choice for Snow White's least favourite princess. They are opposite in almost every single way; Snow is innocent, Jasmine is not. Snow is calm and reserved, while jasmine is loud and aggressive. Snow White would not like or understand Jasmine's harsh and flirty behaviour, while Jasmine would be annoyed by...

First of all, I'm annoyed because fanpop isn't letting me order the images and placement in the article like I used to. Secondly, I thought about writing descriptions for why each princess is in their place but it's nothing knew to what I wrote before and it's just my speculation so all I'm doing is posting the results just so you can see it and I want to see what you guys think. I'll post what their previous ranks were too.

The bottom 4 princesses stay the same. With the exception of the first countdown, where Pocahontas was in the top 4, These have been consistently in the bottom 4, although...

I tried to use comments that summarize the opinions about a movie of the princess fans as a whole, but sometimes there wasn't one.

10. The Princess and the Frog
PREVIOUS RANK: 9 (dropped)

I'll just come right out with my views on this film and say it deserves last place by a long shot. To me, the least amount of care and dedication was put into this film; it's like Disney worked on the bare bones of it and then threw in the rest of the details haphazardly without fleshing anything out. The plot is a snoozefest and has major loopholes, some of the characters are unnecessary, the historical...

in a circle, in a hood that never ends...
So what did John Smith think before his meeting with Pocahontas? I think all of us know. Although he is my favorite Disney Man by far I have to say that he had nothing in common with nature and animals before Pocahontas. He hadn’t understood the meaning of life. I don't believe that he was a bad man. He was a good person because only when you are good inside you can change. He was just a bit ignorant. After his meeting with Pocahontas he changes and that’s what I appreciate more. His willingness to change and to try to be better and better all the time. So, this idea came to my mind. John...

I must find a way to be with him.
If I can’t have him, my world will always be grim.
No one I know will understand.
They all hate the land.
But it’s all I can ever think about.
I would love it up there, I have no doubt.
Especially to be in his arms,
Getting lost in all of his charms.
Only then will I be satisfied.
Knowing that from now on it’s with him I’ll reside.
I long to be in his arms and to dance!
And find myself in a lover’s trance.
I must find someone who will help me with my plea,
Until then I will be miserable under the sea.
