9.Aurora
Aurora came in last in this countdown for one obvious reason- We simply didn't see her do anything brave. While Snow White did show cowardice, she also showed bravery. Aurora simply didn't do enough to show any bravery, and only showed moments of fear. I'm willing to bet had Aurora run through the woods like Snow White, she wouldn't have been able to recover so easily, nor barge into a stranger's house.

"It's not that Aurora isn't brave but she really doesn't get a chance to show us her personality so we can only assume off of what we know." (dweeb)

"will someone please name one time Aurora did something brave? *crickets* exactly." (percyandpotter)

"I think Aurora is slightly more brave than Snow White. She was able to go into an unknown future, into a new life with new responsibilities, almost completely composed (she's allowed to cry a bit)." (firegirl1515)

8.Snow White
Obviously next in line is Snow White. She certainly has some moments of bravery (going into a stranger's house, recovering so quickly after being terrified), but mostly she's just a damsel in distress. She doesn't know how to fend for herself, but can you blame the poor girl, she's only 13! Snow White was terrified running through the woods, but for good reasons. It still shows that she is not one to stick up for herself or be calm during a dangerous situation.

"I think Snow White is braver and more cowardly than Aurora at the same time. She is less passive, and brave enough to actually run away from home, and go into the dwarf's house (no one home) (though not much bravery).(AllegroGiocoso)

"She is scared of a forest" (kiraragirl200)

7.Cinderella
Cinderella simply doesn't do anything super brave. She's brave enough to put up with her stepfamily, but a lot of that has to do with the animal friends she has. She was brave enough to go to the ball at risk of being caught, but got help from her Godmother. All in all, Cinderella is mildly brave but requires a lot of help from friends to be so.

"I agree with Cinderella that she is LEAST brave" (MeaghanDavis)
"all Cinderella did was to be a servant in her own home, and to go on a ball." (BelleAnastasia)

6.Jasmine
During this portion of the poll, I had a lot of controversy as she was tied with Tiana and Belle. So I'm just going to say that Jasmine, Tiana, and Belle are all tied.
Anyone who's seen the sequels to Aladdin know Jasmine can kick butt, literally. She's brave enough to speak her mind. Was daring enough to polevault over a building, was brave enough to run away from home. But she also lets other people solve her problems, she's a bit of a damsel in distress at times, and she doesn't do anything incredibly brave.

"I guess, but mostly because she doesn't have as much as a role in her movie as the others do." (AllegroGiocoso)
"She is the Queen of letting other people solve her problems!" (AnnaKay19)

5.Tiana
Tiana has a brave soul. She's worked a long time all her life to earn her restaurant, and is brave enough and has enough fortitude to keep working even with all her hardships. While Tiana may be brave in a realistic sense, she's not brave in the fact that she never does anything courageous. She's certainly consistently bold throughout her film, but other than that, she never really faces anything truly fearful.

"I just don't remember her being that brave..." (DreamyGal)
"What did Tiana do that brave?" (ppv)

4.Belle
While Belle was consistently less bold and fortuitous than Tiana, she certainly did more single brave acts. Instead of running away from the wolves, she battled them off. She was of course, brave enough to take her father's place in the Beast's castle, knowing she would be giving up her freedom in the process, something a lot of us wouldn't be brave enough to do. But that bravery also has something to do with loyalty, and the fact that Belle didn't have too much to lose.

"I think Belle is the braver of the two in my opinion - I mean she goes up against an angry mob of townspeople, what more do you want??? " (AnnaKay19)

"Belle is brave but she does it out of selflessnes" (dweeb)

3.Ariel
Ariel is certainly one of the braver princesses, as well as the first one to be truly heroic. She saved Eric from a raging storm, dodging in between fire and debris, was brave enough to give up her voice for only a 3 day chance to win her love, and was brave enough to dive in the water after Eric when he was sailing away. But often Ariel's bravery is fueled by the fact of ignorance, or just plain stupidity, in the opinion of fanpop users.

"Ariel went for her dreams, which is good, but it doesn't neccessarily make her brave. " (breebree446)

2.Pocahontas
Pocahontas is certainly brave. She jumps off waterfalls & canoes down rivers. She was also brave enough to sneakily follow John and jump in front of him, talk to him when no one else would, sneak off in the night at risk of getting caught, as well as risking her life to save John Smith. However, a lot of HER bravery was fueled by recklessness and just plain daring.

"a. I can imagine Pocahontas doing everything Mulan did, while I can't imagine it the other way around
b. Mulan was insecure and scared at first. Pocahontas never was." (princesslullaby)

" I can see Pocahontas doing everything that Mulan did if given the chance.
Pocahontas offered up her head to be chopped off - I think that's braver than doing ANY kind of fighting." (SG1-090)

1.Mulan

"You see, I think the fact that Mulan was so scared and still did all the amazing things she did makes her even braver. " (firegirl1515)

"Mulan was a lot more independent. She had her horse and that was about it.... I feel like it would take more guts to go out on your own into war than stopping a war at home. Yes, she had Mushu, but not til she made her decision." (aiemerrysirius)

"Mulan could've left when Shang dismisses her during the song make a man out of you, or after they find out she's a woman and leave her yet still staying in the drawn out danger and risking your life a lot when you don't need to. On top of that, I also just find Mulan's shows of bravery bigger and better. " (Mermaid-Tail)

"Mulan was conscious about everything she did, and what will be consequences if she get discovered. She has to live with those thoughts all the time but she never turned back or even thought to give up. " (cromulanfav)

Very accurate. I completely agree with the results. Proactive-damsels in distress.

I would actually switch Cinderella and Snow White. You'd have to be pretty brave to let a creepy shit like the old hag into your house, lol. Other than that, I like this list. C:

I agree with most of the results, but I most definitely have an order for the area of controversy in the middle and that's the only bit I want to reach up there and turn on it's head.

I wish they showed more of sleeping beauty's personality. But I agree with (firegirl1515) she did leave the only life she ever knew and the one she loved and i think that must have been pretty hard to do!

I very much agree, too. Mulan, Pocahontas, Belle, and Ariel are definitely the bravest ones, in my opinion. Most or all of the girls have their own shining moments of bravery or reasons that one can regard them as being brave...and, of course, there were a few moments of sheer naivety or stupidity that occurred as well, lol. This order makes lots of sense, though. You could shift a few here or there depending upon your perspective and personal feelings (I might swap Jasmine and Tiana, maybe?) I think that a lot of them (such as the first four) might be almost equal, and would possibly do the same things if placed in one another's situations.

I also think that Cinderella, and even Snow White and Aurora, do deserve credit for possessing and demonstrating a certain amount of bravery. ESPECIALLY Cindy! Some very good points were made about Snowy and Aurora, too. Snow White almost definitely ranks before Aurora. However, wandering alone in the woods and being able to face her brand-new life calmly and with composure should certainly count for something.
