Emblem3 truly have ‘nothing to lose’ but do they ‘gain enough’ to become commercially successful?

Just as the album title suggests, former X Factor trio Emblem3 have nothing to lose. And I do mean nada. Why? Well, the former contestants from the show have been unsuccessful in establishing a commercial presence. That goes for all of them – Tate Stevens, Marcus Canty, Rachel Crow, Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro. To their credit (or maybe better yet to Simon Cowell’s credit), Emblem3 seem to have more ‘commercial’ firepower than the aforementioned. That said, that doesn’t make Nothing to Lose as a surefire thing critically or commercially. From my perspective, the album has its moments that should appeal to the teen audience who view Emblem3 as the modern day heartthrobs (earrings, tattoos, surfer look, etc.), while it also has enough bubblegum, pop-rap to make skeptics roll their eyes. In other words, it’s mediocre.

Judging from the 11 tracks on the standard edition of Emblem3‘s debut ‘Nothing to Lose,’ the Cali trio never, like, ever has a bad day. Equal parts Hot Chelle Rae and One Direction, they’re cute and they make crazy catchy anthems with golden melodies and saccharine harmonies.

Emblem 3, who competed deep into Season 2 of American ‘X Factor,’ co-wrote much of the album, including the hit single ‘Chloe,’ a song which probably makes most 8th grade girls wish that was her name.

The album, as a whole, is the sonic equivalent of a large cup of Pinkberry frozen yogurt. It’s very L.A. and it sure feels good going down. It may not have the same nutritional value of, say, a steak or a plate of kale, but it still tastes good.

Emblem3 — Keaton Stromberg, Wesley Stromberg and Drew Chadwick – are more than your average boy band, since they do pen their own tracks. ‘Nothing to Lose’ stays the course (upbeat pop) from start to finish. While that approach offers little in the way of dynamics, the boys have perfected a formula.

Emblem3 is living a pretty decent life after losing the title on The X-Factor and they want their fans to know they love the support. After a few rumors about being signed and being confirmed for a record deal, the boys took the time to share a new photo and thank you message on Facebook for their fans. In the photo, all 3 of the guy’s faces are shown well and allow fans to squeal with the best of them. In the message they thank their fans and remind them that they are loved by the band. Here is the whole message that they shared with their fans along with the photo.

My beautiful people!! I just wanted to let you know I love you! Never stop sharing your love and inspiration! Bless you all!

It is a nice message to share with your fans and hopefully it will go well for the boys as they launch their real career. It seems like being on the show might have been the best thing for them, even though they did not win. We have seen so many reality music stars win and never become anything, so they might have lucked out here. By being signed on without that stigma of being attached to a TV show. As for updates...
