Emblem3 truly have ‘nothing to lose’ but do they ‘gain enough’ to become commercially successful?

Just as the album title suggests, former X Factor trio Emblem3 have nothing to lose. And I do mean nada. Why? Well, the former contestants from the show have been unsuccessful in establishing a commercial presence. That goes for all of them – Tate Stevens, Marcus Canty, Rachel Crow, Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro. To their credit (or maybe better yet to Simon Cowell’s credit), Emblem3 seem to have more ‘commercial’ firepower than the aforementioned. That said, that doesn’t make Nothing to Lose as a surefire thing critically or commercially. From my perspective, the album has its moments that should appeal to the teen audience who view Emblem3 as the modern day heartthrobs (earrings, tattoos, surfer look, etc.), while it also has enough bubblegum, pop-rap to make skeptics roll their eyes. In other words, it’s mediocre.

Judging from the 11 tracks on the standard edition of Emblem3‘s debut ‘Nothing to Lose,’ the Cali trio never, like, ever has a bad day. Equal parts Hot Chelle Rae and One Direction, they’re cute and they make crazy catchy anthems with golden melodies and saccharine harmonies.

Emblem 3, who competed deep into Season 2 of American ‘X Factor,’ co-wrote much of the album, including the hit single ‘Chloe,’ a song which probably makes most 8th grade girls wish that was her name.

The album, as a whole, is the sonic equivalent of a large cup of Pinkberry frozen yogurt. It’s very L.A. and it sure feels good going down. It may not have the same nutritional value of, say, a steak or a plate of kale, but it still tastes good.

Emblem3 — Keaton Stromberg, Wesley Stromberg and Drew Chadwick – are more than your average boy band, since they do pen their own tracks. ‘Nothing to Lose’ stays the course (upbeat pop) from start to finish. While that approach offers little in the way of dynamics, the boys have perfected a formula.

Emblem3 is living a pretty decent life after losing the title on The X-Factor and they want their fans to know they love the support. After a few rumors about being signed and being confirmed for a record deal, the boys took the time to share a new photo and thank you message on Facebook for their fans. In the photo, all 3 of the guy’s faces are shown well and allow fans to squeal with the best of them. In the message they thank their fans and remind them that they are loved by the band. Here is the whole message that they shared with their fans along with the photo.

My beautiful people!! I just wanted to let you know I love you! Never stop sharing your love and inspiration! Bless you all!

It is a nice message to share with your fans and hopefully it will go well for the boys as they launch their real career. It seems like being on the show might have been the best thing for them, even though they did not win. We have seen so many reality music stars win and never become anything, so they might have lucked out here. By being signed on without that stigma of being attached to a TV show. As for updates...

You have to admire Drew Chadwick for being upfront. While most singers / reality competition contestants would not choose to put their heart on their sleeve online (especially when there are already thousands of women fawning all over you), he tried to do that with a certain singer and Nickelodeon star.

A few days ago, Drew tried to get his Twitter base to arrange it so that former “Victorious” actress Ariana Grande (who has since moved on to the upcoming “Sam & Cat”) would go out with him. Sadly, there was a problem: she has a boyfriend already. Better luck next time, Drew? Well, he took finding out the news in stride, and the good thing for him is that he has thousands of other options who would date him right now if given a chance.

The Huntington Beach-based trio are set to work with several industry hitmakers, including Savan Kotecha, on their debut album.

Simon Cowell is hoping to make stars of another all-boy group: California's own Emblem3.

The X Factor creator and judge, who mentored the Huntington Beach-based trio on season two of the series, has made it official, signing Wesley Stromberg, Keaton Stromberg and Drew Chadwick to his Syco Music via Columbia Records, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The boys are already in the studio working on their debut album, due out this year, executive produced by Savan Kotecha (Maroon 5, Usher, One Direction).

"I was so impressed by the talent and energy of the Emblem3 boys that I had to work with them," says Kotecha, who also serves as vocal coach to many X Factor acts. "I'm looking forward to helping them fulfill their creative vision and working with the amazing Syco and Columbia team who, in my opinion, are the best in the business."

Wesley's mystery girl
Sat, December 22, 2012 4:45pm EST by Christopher Rogers

Wesley was spotted on a date with a mystery brunette on Dec. 20 — and she’s an ‘X Factor’ dancer!

Emblem3‘s Wesley Stromberg may not have walked away with a $5 million recording contract, but it appears as though he may have found a girlfriend while participating on The X Factor.

PopCandiesTV caught up with Wesley as he was walking down the street with a mystery brunette. The girl in question, which we later find out is a dancer from the show, covers her face from the camera as Wesley gladly stops to take pictures with some fans.

After laughing off walking into a dead end, Wesley says the word “f**k” and then stops to take some photos.

Two female fans tell Wesley he’s “so hot” and after taking a set of photos, ask the Emblem3 hottie if the girl is a friend or a “friend.” Yes, they threw up some air quotes.

Wesley says, “She’s a friend of mine. Yeah, just friends. She dances on the show, and we’re just gonna have fun.” Noticing his “friend” is not interested in the conversation, and still...

It looks as though multiple ‘X Factor‘ contestants are walking away winners after all!

Country star Tate Stevens may have beaten out fan favorite Carly Rose Sonenclar as the second season winner of the FOX show, but Sonenclar, third-place finalists Fifth Harmony, and the all-male group Emblem3 are reportedly set to ink record deals with Sony Music as well!

While the announcement of the deal won’t be made officially until 2013, it’s being said that the three, along with Stevens, will be signed to Syco Music, a record company that’s co-owned by ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell and Sony Music. That label will then mesh with an even bigger Sony Music label (think Epic Records or Columbia Records) to promote each of the talent’s records.

Cowell is hoping that Fifth Harmony will blow up as an American all-girl group, and of course, everyone’s hot on Emblem3 given the success of another boy band currently blowing everyone out of the water, One Direction. “Epic and Columbia both want Emblem3,” revealed an insider. “L.A. Reid [chairman/CEO of Epic Records] is hot to sign Emblem3, but...

Country crooner Tate Stevens might've taken home the X Factor crown last night, but Simon Cowell has his eyes set on another XF talent!

From what we last heard, Simon was gearing up to turn his boy bro trio, Emblem3, into superstars with a contract… despite getting eliminated just one week shy of the finale!

The boys, who were called heartthrobs by L.A. Reid, have already built up quite a fanbase from the show — and Simon's NOT one to let them slip away!

Last night at the finale, Cowell stated:
"If we don’t sign them, someone else will… watch this space!"

Both L.A. and Simon hinted to us at the finale that they'd still be working together, regardless of the fact that Reid has stepped down as judge!

Could this mean they'll both be teaming up to make Emblem3 the next big thing???

Guess we'll have to wait and see… but all signs point to YES!

I did not write this article, it was copy-pasted from link.

The Huntington Beach band, mentored by Simon Cowell, was eliminated before the show's finals, but so what? The members could wind up with a record deal anyway. They're 'cuties,' just don't call them a boy band.

Week after week, Emblem3 made teenage girls swoon as the band played sunny renditions of other artists' hit songs on the Fox competition "The X Factor."

A fusion of pop, ska and hip-hop — think Sublime, only dreamier with washboard abs and tousled hair — the young Huntington Beach trio was also a favorite of the judges.

Yet in a move as puzzling as the success of the show itself, the band was eliminated, losing its potential spot in the final three to an underdog act.

So why weren't Emblem3's members devastated by the loss? Because these days it's often better to be a finalist in a singing talent show than an actual winner.

Imagine you’re video chatting with Drew trying to figure out what to get your boyfriend Wesley for Christmas:

Drew: Wassssup (Y/N)

You: Nothing really, I’m just trying to think of what I should get Wes for Christmas.

Drew: Hmmm, I don’t know man… nothing too expensive. He doesn’t like when you spend money on him.

You: Then maybe some lingerie or something.

Drew: I mean, yeah he’d definitely be into that.

You: WES! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?

Wes: Long enough, and that’s definitely a good idea, babe.

So I take it you’re over the elimination. No hard feelings.

Drew: We really like to dwell on the past. It just makes you a happy person. Sorry, I’m being blatantly sarcastic.
Keaton: Honestly, we never really had any hard feelings on the competition, it was just kind of what happened. We were happy for the other contestants, we have so much love for them. They’re beautiful people. We feel like things are going to work out for us ok in our career inevitably. We feel like we’re going to be ok.
Drew: We might not have five million dollars but we’re not going to die. We’re still alive, we’re still breathing, we’re still living life and we’re still loving. So that’s really what matters.

When you were on stage and they announced Fifth Harmony as the first act to go through, what were you guys thinking?

Keaton: I was thinking, “Oh my God, that’s so cool, they’re all such amazing cute girls.” I’m happy they made it through. Just to see the pure joy radiating off their faces, they were so happy to make it through and they’re so...

You and your best friend, Melissa, are walking home when your iPhone starts to buzz. You look at the screen and see it’s your older brother, Drew. “What do you want from my life?” you answer him with an annoyed tone.”Is that the way to answer you’re most special brother?” he asked in a cheery tone. “Yea it kinda is,” you said in the same annoyed tone as Melissa giggles.

"He just wants us to focus on what's going on, so he's probably not telling us that on purpose, but this is awesome," Wesley Stromberg tells THR

As the final four X Factor competitors head to the semifinals, it's likely all will be signed to major record-label deals.

Among the most likely of pop stars is Huntington Beach, Calif.-based trio Emblem3, who, while expressing their dissatisfaction with recent performances, are hoping to unveil a more original sound post-competition. And though mentor Simon Cowell has urged them to stick with the mainstream for their performances on the Fox show (the anti-boy band has so often been compared to X Factor U.K. alum One Direction), it appears he still believes in their ska punk-like roots.

Asked whether he'd sign Emblem3 to his label -- even if they don't win -- Cowell told reporters, "I think there's a pretty good chance. I'm not going to let anyone else get them."

Well, One Direction didn't win the UK version of X Factor, and look at how megarediculoustupidfamous they are!

Even though Demi Lovato is NOT in love with three piece brother boyband Emblem3, it seems X Factor's main man Simon Cowell will most likely snatch up the band…

Even if they don't win the $5 Million prize!
Sisi recently revealed:

"I think there's a pretty good chance [I'd sign them] I'm not going to let anyone else get them. There'll be some pretty big announcements at the end of the show."

Hmm!

We wonder if the boys will go back to their signature ska-punk sounds or stick with the guaranteed money-making 1D formula?

Nah! Get your Sublime sound ON dudes! There hasn't been a solid ska band that twangs on the heartstring of many in AGES!
And if anyone can take ska mainstream, it's Simon C!

Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell continued their "X Factor" feud this week, delivering brutal critiques to their rival's acts: CeCe Frey and Emblem3.

Lovato kicked it off by slamming Emblem3's "unplugged" performance of Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" as "a downgraded version of the Jonas Brothers five years ago." Oh, snap!

"That was incredibly dumb what you just said actually," Cowell responded. But backstage after the show, the guys of Emblem3 had a different take on Lovato's harsh words.

"You know what it is," Drew Chadwick explains. "She's got one of those old school schoolgirl crushes, where the only way she knows how to flirt is by being mean."

"Like Helga from 'Hey Arnold!,'" ¸Keaton Stromberg chimes in. "She has a shrine in her closet."

"You should see Demi's closet!" jokes Chadwick.

The guys admit the judges' bickering can be a distraction, but they're also able to tune it out.

What does Emblem3 during in their time off?

Wesley Stromberg: "On my day off I go back to Huntington and try to chill and relax. I love working on music, so every day is still fun."

Keaton Stromberg: "Music is what we want to do with our lives and it’s why we’re here in the first place. We just love to enjoy it. Why would you be in the industry if you’re not trying to enjoy it? That’s what it’s about really."

Drew Chadwick: "I just like… girls. I like girls and I miss girls. I’m 20 man, I’m not 15. I get one day a week to spend it with my girl and that’s always really nice. Just to like, feel her."

Was that Emblem3 mob staged?

Wesley: "It happened. They legitimately chased after us."

Keaton: "If that was staged, they fooled me too! Now I’m starting to wonder… no, it was real." (Laughs)

Drew: "I had no idea that was gonna happen. We showed up to the Grove for the meet and greet and it started out normal, taking pictures, signing autographs. Then it turned into 200 girls all over us and security came and...

On The X Factor performance show for the top 8, Emblem 3 starred in a pre-taped package that showed the guys out and about in Los Angeles. And while they were out and about, they were also "recognized"—you know, that euphoric phenomenon every boy band loves to lap up from their female fans when they get mobbed and ultimately need to leave the scene of the occasion.

So, with that in mind, has this trio become the American equivalent of Britain's One Direction, a group who came out of the UK version of this hot program and who were also mentored by Simon Cowell just as Emblem 3 is experiencing this year on the TV talent show on this side of the pond?

Perhaps. But don't hold your breath. Yes, these guys are cute, and yes, these guys are getting a lot of attention from the girls. But their singing, although very good at times, isn't exactly inspirational, at least not yet.

Keaton Imagine for Michelle (Dirty)
Imagine you are sitting on your boyfriend, Keaton’s lap on the couch watching a chick flick then a sex scene comes on and It gets really awkward. You guys have never “done it” before. You start to move around into a more comfortable spot but then you feel something hard under your butt.

“oh my god.”

You said really fast. You knew he had a boner and you knew his face was red and blushy. You tried to ignore it but that was really hard since it was just there. Then out of nowhere he turns you around and starts kissing you, you couldn’t resist so you kissed him back. Both of you knew where this was going, he started kissing you really rough and hard and it turned into a hot make-out session. You had your legs wrapped around his body and he started to carry you to his room. You guys were both on his bed and he was on top of you.

Keaton started tugging at your shirt so you took it off immediately, you wanted to do this so bad.

Mature Wesley Stromberg One Shot
Mature One Shot- Wesley Stromberg

A/N: Since I’m horny I guess I’ll write a Wesley mature one shot. Not sure why all my Wesley’s are mature right now. But they are … Oh well I’ll get some more mature Drew up later. Maybe even a Mature Keaton if I can do it and feel okay about myself. Anyway enjoy this mature Wesley One Shot.

“If you guys do that dance one more time full out you guys can leave.” My dance coach says. I was on my schools dance team. It was a lot of hard work. But I loved when my boyfriend Wesley picked me up after, so I was determined to get through this! When I got to the car I was out of breath and really sweaty, you know the way I love to look when I see my boyfriend.

“Hard practice?” Wesley asked.

“Yeah” I replied glad it was Friday and I didn’t have practice for a week now thanks to thanksgiving!

“Are you spending the night at my house?” He asked.

Wesley Imagine for Anon
You feel your bed lurch and then you feel yourself getting bounced up and down. You open your eyes and see your three best friends, Wes,Drew and Keaton jumping on your bed.”What are you guys doing?” You groaned.”You wanted us to teach you how to surf.”Wes answer still jumping.”Come on Y/N get up.”Keaton says “But it’s early.” you whine “It’s 10 sleepyhead.”Drew laughs. “I’ll get up,if you all stop jumping.”you growl. They all jump off your bed and you roll out of it. “Breakfast in 15 and then we are leaving,be ready.” Keaton says as him and the boys leave.

You throw your swimsuit and shorts and pull your hair into a ponytail, brush your teeth, and walk out of your bedroom. You were spending the week at the Stromberg’s,and the boys had promised to teach you how to surf. Even though you lived by the beach in your home town, you live in the east coast and there were virtually no waves.

You sat down at the kitchen table and after a quick breakfast of egg sandwiches, you and the guys head down to the beach. You eyes widen at the sight of the huge waves.”It will be okay Y/N.”Wes says giving...

Mature One Shot- Wesley Stromberg
A/N: this is my first time writing something mature so sorry if it bad. Hope you guys like it. :)

I was walking to the beach it was Sunday morning and I was ready to learn how to surf my boyfriend Wesley said he’d teach me. I was wearing my new blue bikini and I was ready to learn.
I watched him surf for a little bit.

When he was done he came back to shore and showed me the fundamentals, but I wasn’t paying attention. I was just staring at his abs.

“(y/n)! Are you even paying attention?” He yelled at me bringing me back from Daze.

“Um…yeah.” I replied. He continued on and I do my best to pay attention. Finally he lets me attempt surfing in the water and none of this balance on sand stuff. I fall a lot and he laughs every time. I had finally had enough and started to go back to shore.

“(y/n), will you do better if I give you something to work for?” Wesley asks me?
