Yes I would because if you truly love them and thu truly love you, you will try to learn their language and they will appreciate how fast or slow you learn.(which is exactly what I would do)

If you really love someone, then that doesn't matter if that person is deaf, mute or whatever!! (But that would be helpful if you learn signing...)
