Twilight, how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways...

Unrealistic characters
Hideously incorrect description of La Push, or Washington State in general
Poor/uninteresting definition of vampires
Too much sappy romance
Repetitive literary techniques
Cliche concept with no new spin
Overrated

Not to mention the fact that:
- by making Bella a needy, whiny, 50's-era housewife-y damsel in distress, Stephanie Meyers set the feministic movement back around 60 years
- Edward displays 10 of 16 early warning signs of a potential future abuser, which is a great example for the millions of girls that hold him up as the ideal man
- the subliminal abstinence-only, no-birth-control, anti-abortion-even-when-the-mother's-liife­-is­-in­-da­nge­r messaging throughout the series can't be healthy for (again) the millions of girls that read thse books
- Stephanie Meyers is in desperate need of a good editor, since basically the first 500 pages of her book could be shortened down to around 100
- Edward sneaking into Bella's room at night without her knowing to watch her the entire night is just creepy beyond words
- Bella basically going into a coma without actually being comatose over a guy is pathetic. That's not devotedness, that's dependence, and it's not healthy. Especially when they'd only been dating for, what? A couple of months?
- neither can seem to accept that the other loves them, which equals extremely low self-esteem. Again, great choice of characteristics there, Meyers.
- besides low self-esteem, which I'm pretty sure the author didn't intend, Bella's only intentional character flaw is that she's clumsy. Which is not much of a character flaw.

Sorry, this kind of turned into a rant. But I truly hate Twilight. And I go to an all-girls' school, so you can imagine the Twilight-worshipping that goes on there.
