my chat icon dissappeard!! what can i do?

i'm sorry for the several questions in a row... ;)
i clicked turn im off.. then i singed in again and i clicked turn im on, but the chat icon wasn't there... what can i do? i'd like to find a way to "fix it" because i wouldn't remove my profile to create a new one... thank you ;) ;)
