Okay everybody on Fanpop is a fan of something, you have to be, But what is a true fan? Well, I'll tell you.
According to Webster's Dictionary, a Fan is
Etymology: probably short for fanatic
1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport or a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer or enthusiast (as of a celebrity or a pursuit) <science-fiction fans>
This is a great definition of a fan of a baseball team or a specific person, such as the Yankees or Brad Pitt. But is that really what the Fans on Fanpop are? No. The Fans on fanpop are something else. They are special. and while we may adore the Yankees or Brad Pitt there is something else there. You want to know what that is? Okay, I'll tell you, it's heart. Now you can say that being obsessed with a baseball team or an actor takes heart, but that's not what I'm trying to get across.
On Fanpop, there are 800,000 users(correct me if that's wrong) who invest themselves into something that they genuinely care about. Yes they care deeply about the spots, but it's not only that. It's about all the users caring about the others users. About people giving other people props when you have posted something that they really enjoyed. Or voting for them on Fan of The Fortnight. The FANS on Fanpop really care and they have the best thing anyone can have when dealing with another person ; and that's heart.
You may disagree with me about the true fan, but I could care less, and one day, when you realize that everyone on Fanpop is truly amazing, you'll come to thank me.
