This chapter of the Fanpop user identification guide is all about Medal whores. Maybe you think you may have come across one a while back, or you’re just not sure how to classify the one you just met? Check out this handy guide!

The Spammer: Forget about actually helping a club, this user just wants their medal, and doesn’t give a rip how they get it. Have you guessed that this type of Medal Whore uploads tons of useless, similar, or identical contributions just to get a medal? If so, congratulations, you’re correct. Think pages and pages of picks with maybe just the choices flipped around, heaps of almost identical images, (They aren’t the same-just look really, really closely!), stacks of video’s that have already been uploaded, just these are by different YouTube users, etc. Sadly, you can’t really report these people, since their contributions, possibly by a bit of a stretch, technically ARE relevant. And no, this person doesn’t really care if they’re clogging up the clubs image/video/links section, nor do they respond to polite comments about how they really aren’t helping the club at all. Note: This is just for fun. I do not claim to know the specifics, thoughts, or actions of medals. The words and views spoken or expressed by the “medal” or the interviewer (me) are in no way affiliated with the F4 or Fanpop itself, unless you count the fact that I’m posting this on Fanpop.

After much persuasion, and promises of many future contributions to “feed” the medal (this will be explained in the interview), I managed to persuade one of my Dedicated medals to allow me to interview it! **To retain the medal’s anonymity, I will refrain from mentioning what spot it’s for** All you ever wanted to learn about the private life and thoughts of medals-here’s your chance!

KateKicksAss: Hello, Dedicated Medal, thank you so much for agreeing to this little interview!

Dedicated Medal: No problem! You’re not going to put this on TV, are you? Because I’m really not high enough of a medal to make such an appearance….

Tip No. 2 in action!
Have you ever wanted to act like a total jerk on Fanpop? Piss people off, lose your fans, drive everyone crazy, and maybe even get banned, you just weren’t sure how? Here’s a handy guide on how to do exactly that!

1. Disrespect other people’s opinions. Yeah, YOU think that band XYZ sucks and you wouldn’t touch one of their CD’s with a ten-foot pole, and you’re going to assume that everyone on the planet shares your sentiment. Who cares if some people might not appreciate you going on about how the lead singer looks like a bald gorilla and sings like a cat throwing up? They should be glad you’re sharing your wisdom and insights-how on earth could you be being OFFENSIVE? And now that you mention it….what does offensive even mean again?

2. Shamelessly Medal-Whore. What? How could it possibly be annoying to bug everyone on your fanlist to fan and comment on your contributions? It’s not like it’s a lot of trouble for them….I mean, they practically OWE you, right, after all the time YOU spent posting on their walls asking them to! Go ahead and keep spamming their walls if they ignore your...
