"Listen up Ladies, and gents!" said Skipper's voice "We've changed up the initiation ritual a bit. The whole idea is simple, find the clues and assemble the peice you find with its pair. The location of your clue is written in a difficult code and taped to your body. This is Skipper, Signing out!" and the recording stopped.
"looking around me, i saw CC, Kristen and Tom Mc Grath taped to a dumpster. it wasn't hard given the fact that Penguins are the size of your averege chicken. Once we joined, it'd be an even eight. What I don't get is why Skipper held off till; now with the initiation.
"Everyone all right?" asked Tom, in Skipper's voice.
"Yep." said CC
"That's a go" said Kristen ( my cousin)
"Yeparoni." i said.
My clue was written in a numerical code. it read " 20, 15,16,15,6,3,2,15,3,11,20,15,23,5,18- love, Private"
Knowing that private wrote it, It was a simple code. All you had to do was substitute the numbers for the letters of the alphabet in the order they're in, so A would be 1 and Z would be 26.
Applying this code to my clue, the message was "Top of Clock Tower.".
Belly sliding to the Clock tower ( it took a while, but I made it to the Park!!!) i was shocked to literally bump into CC.
"What are you doing here?'
"Getting my Clue, same as you."
"Clock tower?'
Clock tower, that's a go."
Climbing to the top, we saw two boxes with our names on them. Peering inside, i was instantly hit by the familiar smell of rotten fish! CC had the same thing in her box, as did Kristen and Tom when they showed up.
The final note read "Congrads! You've each had to use your wits and individual strengths, and you're now a part of our team! For the final part of your assignment, you have to dump the fish in Alice's office."
Once THAT was finished, we belly slid back to the HQ where we were greeted by the sound of arguing.
"I won't do it!" said Skipper
"You must my dear old frienemy! Unless you want me to hurt your team....." said Hans' voice from the TV. ' meet me in front of the Zoo at 10:00 tonight. Come unarmed."
"What does Hans want now?" asked kristen
"He didn't say, he only wanted to meet with me."
meanwhile, Kowalski solved the sleeping arrangements. He invented a device that created a large space in a small area. Basically it was maximizing space to the extreme. Hollowing out a door in the HQ's bottom right wall, he fired his device. it ended up creating 4 bedrooms, one for each of us, plus a guest room. he said what he had done was use quantum physics to create an arcane powered mulitphasic trans dimensional pocket universe.As confusing as it sounds, here's a simple definition, basically, he can make an ocean fit in a drinking glass with this, but from the outside, it looks like a drinking glass, on the inside it can hold large quantities of water. Make sense?
Anyways, the rooms were medium sized, with simple stone walls, a bed, mirror and a lamp. Soon mine would be filled with my things from my home( I'd have to clone my room). To fill in the guest bedroom, Kowalski powered up Robo Rat King (or just The Rat King) and he would become a sort of bodyguard. i just hoped we wouldn't be seeing to much of him, if he's anything like the real Rat King *shudders as i imagine belching contests, loud rock music, sounds of weightlifting and general mayhem*
Wanting desperately to get out of the HQ, i voluntered to disguise as Skipper ( who reluctantly agreed, despite not wanting to loose a new recruit to a dastardly puffin) . To complete the effect, Kowalski added a voice Chip, that he painlessly implanted in my brain that would make me mimic any voice. i'll give you the Cliffnotes version, and say it read my memory and sent a messaage to my vocal chords which allowed my to sound like whoever I wanted.
Hoping this thing wouldn't explode while it was inside my head, I left to meet up with Hans. He said nothing and handed me a small audio casset tape for a tape recorder like the one Skipper uses for "Skipper's Log".. Before i could ask what It was, Hans walked away, sobbing softly.
I handed it back to Skipper, who must've known what it was and pressed play " I vas born on ze 23rd of July 1990....". he stopped it and listened in the scilence of Kowalski's lab. When he came out, he looked like he'd wanted to cry. There was obviously something that he wasn't telling us about he and Hans, and whatever it was, i intended to find out!
